The Kingdom of Malevonia is a colossal, cultured nation, ruled by first minister Björk Björksen with a fair hand, and notable for its smutty television, soft-spoken computers, and stringent health and safety legislation. The compassionate, democratic population of 8.647 billion Malevonans are free to do what they want with their own bodies, and vote for whomever they like in elections; if they go into business, however, they are regulated to within an inch of their lives.

The large, socially-minded, outspoken government juggles the competing demands of Education, Welfare, and Administration. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Rega Urbo. The average income tax rate is 75.5%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The powerhouse Malevonian economy, worth 771 trillion crowns a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. The industrial sector, which is quite specialized, is led by the Information Technology industry, with major contributions from Trout Farming, Book Publishing, and Tourism. Average income is 89,236 crowns, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Vegetables are crisper thanks to CRISPR, the "temporary replacement bus service" is now a permanent fixture, deceased politicians spam the public with thousands of AI-generated voicemails, and discarded pennies litter the streets. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Malevonia's national animal is the Williams stork, which soars majestically through the nation's famously clear skies.

Malevonia is ranked 266,053^rd in the world and 251^st in The Union of Democratic States for Most Primitive, scoring -218.09 on the Scary Big Number Scale.
