The Free United Communities of Kinbloc is a massive, socially progressive nation, renowned for its daily referendums, irreverence towards religion, and punitive income tax rates. The compassionate, democratic, cheerful population of 1.797 billion Kinblocians are free to do what they want with their own bodies, and vote for whomever they like in elections; if they go into business, however, they are regulated to within an inch of their lives.

The enormous, liberal, outspoken government juggles the competing demands of Administration, Education, and Welfare. The average income tax rate is 81.5%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The powerhouse Kinblocian economy, worth 166 trillion Redmarks a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. The industrial sector, which is quite specialized, is led by the Book Publishing industry, with major contributions from Information Technology, Tourism, and Retail. Average income is 92,465 Redmarks, and distributed extremely evenly, with practically no difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Flu research is commonly shut down for fear of creating a superbug, making up random numbers to name new asteroids is the bulk of astronomers' work, they say that Kinblocians made a dessert and called it peace, and ersatz chicken has left the nation's citizens with a bad taste in their mouths. Crime is totally unknown. Kinbloc's national animal is the Fire Ant, which is also the nation's favorite main course.

Kinbloc is ranked 57,275^th in the world and 1^st in The Anarcho Communist Lands for Most Developed, scoring 75.32 on the Human Development Index.
