The Queendom of Magna Dea is a massive, environmentally stunning nation, ruled by Queen of the Night with an iron fist, and renowned for its public floggings, ubiquitous missile silos, and stringent health and safety legislation. The hard-nosed, cynical, humorless, devout population of 1.508 billion Magna Deane are ruled without fear or favor by a psychotic dictator, who outlaws just about everything and refers to the populace as "my little playthings."

The enormous, corrupt, moralistic, socially-minded, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Law & Order, and Administration. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Templum Proserpinae. The average income tax rate is 94.9%.

The thriving Magna Dean economy, worth 197 trillion Proserpinas a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. However, for those in the know, there is an enormous, deeply entrenched, highly specialized black market in Arms Manufacturing, Furniture Restoration, and Basket Weaving. The private sector mostly consists of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, but the government is looking at stamping this out. The police have been known to wiretap confessional boxes, monks aren't the only ones who take vows of silence, graffiti artists spend lengthy periods of time in jail, and foreign 'investors' have been taking a great interest in the new secret shuttle. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Magna Dea's national animal is the Swan, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its national religion is Submis Noctis.
