The Hegemonic Isles of Jayalompan is a mammoth, efficient nation, ruled by Overlord Corvus with an iron fist, and notable for its enslaved workforce, anti-smoking policies, and national health service. The hard-nosed, cynical, devout population of 5.947 billion Jayaloms are ruled with an iron fist by the dictatorship government, which ensures that no-one outside the party gets too rich. In their personal lives, however, citizens are relatively unoppressed; it remains to be seen whether this is because the government genuinely cares about its people, or if it hasn't gotten around to stamping out civil rights yet.

The large, corrupt, socially-minded, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Administration, and Education. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Ronnerr. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 90.9%.

The frighteningly efficient Jayalompanian economy, worth 976 trillion Jadeite Bills a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. However, for those in the know, there is an enormous, deeply entrenched, fairly diversified black market in Arms Manufacturing, Information Technology, Basket Weaving, and Furniture Restoration. The private sector mostly consists of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, but the government is looking at stamping this out. Average income is an impressive 164,235 Jadeite Bills, with the richest citizens earning 5.9 times as much as the poorest.

No personal detail is too tiny for the suede-denim census police, shoppers carry protractors to verify their produce, claiming that "my cousin said it was legal" is a common courtroom defense, and the best spies are positively radiant after completing a big mission. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Jayalompan's national animal is the Barbary Lion, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its national religion is Travailism.
