The compassionate, democratic population of 1.17 billion Arduans love a good election, and the government gives them plenty of them. Universities tend to be full of students debating the merits of various civil and political rights, while businesses are tightly regulated and the wealthy viewed with suspicion.

The medium-sized, socially-minded, outspoken government juggles the competing demands of Education, Administration, and Industry. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Ardenis. The average income tax rate is 50.6%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The all-consuming Arduan economy, worth 131 trillion Indus a year, is broadly diversified and led by the Information Technology industry, with major contributions from Book Publishing, Beef-Based Agriculture, and Tourism. State-owned companies are common. Average income is an impressive 112,391 Indus, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Banning party poppers has been a real party pooper, Arduans refer to transgender people with insults instead of pronouns, people can't decide between preserving forests and buying print copies of 'Dogman Versus The Giggler', and formerly fertile fields are being leached dry of nutrients by intensive farming. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Induous's national animal is the Bandit Shark, which frolics freely in the nation's sparkling oceans, and its national religion is A nameless religion that pre-dates Ardu.
