Whole-wheat loaves are sold under the counter in brown paper bags, citizens are enjoying a recent large cut in taxes, a paperwork error has naval privateers being directed to attack land-locked nations, and international trade can be a pain to deal with. Crime, especially youth-related, is all-pervasive, perhaps because of the country's complete lack of prisons. Haku's national animal is the cat, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its national religion is Athyism.
