The Kingdom of Prydania is a gargantuan, cultured nation, ruled by King Tobias III Loðbrók with an even hand, and notable for its keen interest in outer space, public floggings, and compulsory military service. The hard-nosed, devout population of 18.459 billion Prydanians are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.

The enormous, corrupt government juggles the competing demands of Healthcare, Education, and Industry. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Býkonsviði. The average income tax rate is 87.7%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The government has ordered a moratorium on referenda, school lockers are filled with fancy underwear, citizens recently voted in favour of declaring bubblewrap an 'abomination of nature', and accusations of corruption stick when the accused are long-gone. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a very well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Prydania's national animal is the Stag, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its national religion is Laurenist Messianism.
