The Empire of Comfed is a colossal, orderly nation, ruled by General Dreedle with an iron fist, and remarkable for its zero percent divorce rate, state-planned economy, and hatred of cheese. The hard-nosed, cynical, humorless, devout population of 8.821 billion Comfedians are ruled without fear or favor by a psychotic dictator, who outlaws just about everything and refers to the populace as "my little playthings."

The enormous, corrupt, moralistic, socially-minded, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Law & Order, and Administration. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Okatarin. The income tax rate is 100%.

The frighteningly efficient Comfedian economy, worth a remarkable 3,313 trillion bronze pounds a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. However, for those in the know, there is an enormous, deeply entrenched, quite specialized black market in Arms Manufacturing and Information Technology. The private sector mostly consists of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, but the government is looking at stamping this out. Average income is an amazing 375,588 bronze pounds, with the richest citizens earning 5.4 times as much as the poorest.

Builders across Comfed are blocked up with orders for new public loos, students cut up leftover bronze pounds during Arts and Crafts, it's rare to find an unchewed pencil, and withdrawal of support for drug addicts is leaving many with cold sweats. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Comfed's national animal is the mantis shrimp, which frolics freely in the nation's sparkling oceans, and its national religion is Ycarcotuastism.
