The tiny, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Law & Order, and Industry. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of District City. The average income tax rate is 6.9%, but much higher for the wealthy.

The frighteningly efficient CAAdien economy, worth a remarkable 9,156 trillion aurums a year, is broadly diversified and led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, with significant contributions from Information Technology, Automobile Manufacturing, and Uranium Mining. State-owned companies are common. Average income is an impressive 184,485 aurums, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 2.5 times as much as the poorest.

Broken suspension systems are giving auto repair shops plenty of business, citizens praise the weeds that overwhelm their narrow vegetable realm, competing private ambulances racing to be the first to traffic accidents are a major cause of road accidents, and the only issue that Liard has is that there aren't enough issues (CAA has found 5 easter eggs). Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a capable police force. CAA's national animal is the bovina, which is also the nation's favorite main course.
