The District of Beormar is a gargantuan, socially progressive nation, ruled by Liard with a fair hand, and notable for its irreverence towards religion, absence of drug laws, and complete absence of social welfare. The hard-nosed, hard-working, democratic population of 16.756 billion Marians live in a state of perpetual fear, as a complete breakdown of social order has led to the rise of order through biker gangs.

Crime is a major problem, probably because of the absence of a police force. Beormar's national animal is the bovina, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation.
