The Republic of Etnon is a massive, cultured nation, ruled by Peigi Åland with a fair hand, and remarkable for its anti-smoking policies, hatred of cheese, and stringent health and safety legislation. The compassionate, democratic, cheerful population of 3.093 billion Etnonians love a good election, and the government gives them plenty of them. Universities tend to be full of students debating the merits of various civil and political rights, while businesses are tightly regulated and the wealthy viewed with suspicion.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, outspoken government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, Administration, and Healthcare. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Santana. The average income tax rate is 95.7%.

The frighteningly efficient Etnonian economy, worth 308 trillion Euros a year, is driven almost entirely by government activity. The industrial sector is solely comprised of the Information Technology industry. State-owned companies are reasonably common. Therapists dispense hugs for heroin dealers and cuddles for crackheads, schoolchildren learn an R-rated version of "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes", it's illegal to be caught on tape, and crime is on the rise as DNA sampling has been all but outlawed. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Etnon's national animal is the Bear, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests.
