The Kingdom of Alanith is a gargantuan, efficient nation, ruled by Goerge Alenberg the Third with an iron fist, and notable for its frequent executions, zero percent divorce rate, and absence of drug laws. The hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical, humorless, devout population of 11.193 billion Alanithites are kept under strict control by the oppressive government, which measures its success by the nation's GDP and refers to individual citizens as "human resources."
The large, corrupt, moralistic, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Spirituality, and Law & Order. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Alwent. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 35.8%.
The all-consuming Alanithian economy, worth a remarkable 1,073 trillion Gold Dragons a year, is quite specialized and led by the Uranium Mining industry, with major contributions from Woodchip Exports and Arms Manufacturing. Black market activity is rampant. Average income is 95,884 Gold Dragons, but there is an enormous disparity between incomes, with the richest 10% of citizens earning 544,541 per year while the poor average 8,236, a ratio of 66.1 to 1.
Only the brainiest citizens become academics, tie-dye has been outlawed for being 'too occult', commuters travel in zigzags to avoid stalking accusations, and athletes are renowned for being the best at maths. Crime is pervasive, possibly because it is difficult to make it through a day without breaking one of the country's many regulations. Alanith's national animal is the Dragon, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its national religion is Dragonlance.
Alanith is ranked 291,626th in the world and 3rd in Golden Dragons for Lowest Crime Rates, with 16.93 law-abiding acts per hour.
