The Sinqalastat of Afrika Utara is a colossal, efficient nation, ruled by High Priest Keved Yaxiki with an iron fist, and notable for its anti-smoking policies, irreverence towards religion, and stringent health and safety legislation. The hard-nosed, cynical, humorless population of 5.91 billion Eightsaarans are ruled by a mostly-benevolent dictator, who grants the populace the freedom to live their own lives but watches carefully for anyone to slip up.

The relatively small, corrupt, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Education, Administration, and Law & Order. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Xettoainer. The average income tax rate is 31.4%, but much higher for the wealthy.

The powerhouse Eightsaaran economy, worth 637 trillion Moneik'rs a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. However, for those in the know, there is a large, well-organized, broadly diversified black market in Information Technology, Trout Farming, Tourism, and Book Publishing. The private sector mostly consists of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, but the government is looking at stamping this out. Average income is an impressive 107,890 Moneik'rs, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 2.2 times as much as the poorest.

The nation's new Mylab space station is notorious for being the loneliest place above the planet, it is illegal to brush crumbs off your clothing outdoors, there's never enough space in space, and fat-shaming is now public policy. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Afrika Utara's national animal is the lion, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its national religion is Children of Kat'herina.

Afrika Utara is ranked 73,309th in the world and 16th in Zero for Lowest Crime Rates, with 69.57 law-abiding acts per hour.
