I am new to roleplaying because I always have that furry-type roleplaying in my head (not my kind of stuff). But recently I have discovered this great region. I would appreciate it if someone could give me any RP tips? My country is kind of a depressing military state. BTW sorry for any grammar and/or spelling mistakes. I'm Dutch.

Thanks!

Hey dude how goes it? Everything on the rmb is ooc, meaning you and I are talking as people. We generally refer to each other by our nation names, but if you want us to call you by your leaders I guess we can.

I'll be happy to help you jump into the region. We have scores if guides and willing faces. To get started, you should read our welcome dispatch here:

PAST TWO WEEKS
Now coming to you slightly yet frustratingly late!
12-26 February Edition

Gday Islanders! We got ourselves another Past Two Weeks. Most of you know what I ramble about here but if you don’t - I write about the TWItter thread, the League thread and the nwes thread. I’d like to extend an empathetic welcome to the nations that have made their way onto Past Two Weeks for the first time - Vibor, Nhoor and Blakenham (who I believe has been around these parts before). So here’s this fortnight’s classifieds brought to you by ethically questionable Suvurnian business practices!

A Townsider Airline unveils plans to restructure, increasing their stocks. An oil blast in Almorea leads the regulatory watchdogs to investigate… and if you’re using a word like watchdogs… I have to meme it…
.

Arendai International from Ainslie highlights a story around water restrictions whilst a large explosion kills seventy and the de-facto noronnican leader being assassinated. Pro-totally-not-foreshadowy-overlord media in Noronica releases an Obituary of their leader.

Meme time

Thuzbek media speaks about a bunch of stuff, with your classic strongman propaganda ranting about military spending and Noronica.

The emu war but with wasps begins in Athara Magarat as 19 die within 3 days whilst Nhoor media states that people still like the monarchy. Mennan Government having issues enforcing their regulations whilst Thuzbek State News blatantly relaying misinformation from their government amidst the aforementioned Government voting to withdraw from the Gresswell Island treaty.

Time for a meme

Brulafi and Thuzbekistan also agree to have a playdate. Sediment from a river slows operations at Samudera’s busiest port whilst another layer to the Almorean bureaucracy is created after an increase in the murder rate of a town. The dictator leader of Enchanta gives birth whilst Dormill-Stiuraian media gives us a recap of the past week’s news, including possibly following Menna Shuli in placing more regulations on San Javier trade. Newly crowned corporatocracy agrees to change aerial and naval assets in order to increase their influence.

The IC fungus of my nightmares seems to do the government’s job in Athara Magarat as they begin to parasitise the insects until they find out it sparks hyper-aggression in these wasps. And people say Ainslie is dangerous IC. New Marian leader actually delivers on an election promise whilst Vibor confirms the recognition of Charbagnia. Magarati media reveals that MSTO won’t renew a landmark treaty between the two parties whilst Brulafi scientists obtain and transport the nightmare hornet fungus. Totzkan media gives us an opinion post whilst a commune is suppressed in Eurania. Regulations spark violence in Menna Shuli whilst Totzkan media states that a radical journalist is a major suspect in an act of terrorism at a major national media outlet’s headquarters.

We get some suspicions of foreign interference in Aruia’s politics *I know nothing*. Leader/dictator of Enchanta falls into a coma whilst “her lover” de-facto temporarily leads the country but not its military. We get ourselves an opinion piece from what is normally an impartial South Gael Morning Post which seeks to strongly link capitalism to any amount of progress in any nation . Businessman gets kidnapped by university students in New Totzka whilst listing a whole bunch of demands that would never be met. And on that note…

Blakenham’s Parliament tweaks its constitution. President of Suvurnia ironically gives a “we will not negotiate with terrorists” line whilst Suvurnian media describes the intriguing and complicated relationship between Thuzbekistan - a muslim communist nation and Suvurnia - a muslim hyper capitalist nation. Ahnslen Government strengthens biosecurity laws whilst the same media outlet releases stuff about the domestic cricket comp - what Ahnslens are really caring about at the moment.

Suvurnian businessman released whilst one of the top stories of Nhoor is a disappointing Symphony. Totzka’s neighbour, the Viborian Government raises concerns about the nation’s internal security. New constitution in Noronica gives way to the formation of a new republic led by a 25 year old, the youngest leader in Noronica’s history. Domestic conversation in Michigonia dominated by the influence of international uncertainty on the nation. Angry unemployed people hit dah streetz in a riot in Almorea.

And in the League

Keverai delegate walks into the league and messes up his French, only to be met with a correction from the Suvurnian delegate and a passive aggressive, eye-rolling Ahnslen delegate. The Almorean delegate and the Mennan delegate criticise the Suvurnian whilst the Athara Magarati delegate sends his condolences to Noronica following the death of their leader. Noronnican delegate gives us an update on that whole situation whilst the Miklanian continues to try and get information about Arvan. The Dormill-Stiuraian delegate and the Noronnican discuss their relationship going forward whilst the Vancouvian rushes to make sure that their bilateral alliance with Noronica remains strong. Mennan delegate brings up the prospect of stating their issues surrounding enforcing new regulations which the Athara Magarati and Corindi delegates want to hear more about.

Mennan delegate gives a quick briefing whilst Viborian delegate checks the facts of her claims. The latter delegate then begins to question the Mennan on various matters. Wellsian delegate questions whether all this could result in the administering of capital punishment to a foreign national. Suvurnian delegate pulls out the sovereignty card as the Wellsian reaffirms his motives. Vancouvian delegate wants to hear the San Javieran side of the story. Mennan delegate is at least neutral to this idea. San Javieran throws up some relatively ridiculous yet somewhat believable claims. Suvurnian wants evidence. Dormill-Stiuraian gives the San Javieran a quick lesson in international maritime law. San Javierans casually try and get themselves out of the mess they’ve had only to be slapped down by the Viborian.

Athara Magarat League circus continues as their delegate advises people to restrict travel to Athara Magarat because of the hornets. Almorean delegate casually states that the San Javieran has been “backed into a corner”.

Miklanian delegate reveals that they’ve been helping out the Mennans and raises the idea of possibly asking what the Miklanians involved saw. The Mennan and the San Javieran were strangely mutually okay about this, so the Miklanian’s office went off to do that. San Javieran brushes off the hornet issue whilst the Mennan is concerned about it. In response to Hornetgate, Vibor has shut down all its ports to Athara Magarati vessels.

Which begs the question, what will be the next major threat to the region IC as a result of Athara Magarat? Well, I’ve got one theory.

but that’s just a theory
a game Past two Weeks theory.

And in the Tweetesphere

Thuzbek Foreign Minister releases a statement about the now-dead Overlord of Noronica. Totzkan media gives us an update about the explosion at one of its’ rivals’ headquarters. Thuzbek troll refers to his nation as having “great durability” whilst complaining about an opinion article out of Suvurnia. Alteran Defence Force gets new flying toys and the country gets a phone with a folding screen and 5G connection. School shooter turns up to Enchanti high school whilst the Thuzbek Foreign Minister advises travellers about the hornet threat in Athara Magarat. Moderate Suvurnian Government and its plans to make the nation more secular face opposition whilst Suvurnian troll account states that the Thuzbek Foreign Minister’s profile picture looks like he’s praying on top of a walrus.

Honestly though, this meme speaks truth:

By now, you should be sick and tired of my ramblings for another fortnight. I’ll see you next time.

Verdon

Thuzbekistan wrote:Verdon do you worship mountains? Literally all your maps have decently tall mountains.

It has to do with how I started making my maps. I was ignorant about how I would notate meaningful changes in elevation, combined with the fact that in my style, I lose accuracy rapidly as features get smaller. If you made 3d models of my maps, most of them would end up looking like sand dunes rather than islands. Since I have so much mapped out already, it wouldn't make sense to change the method now, otherwise the new maps would look quite out of place when they go up on a composite.

Also, sorry to anyone who has been asking for maps. I just haven't had time, I'll work on some soon.

I throw some significant shade at the way some people design nations when they first show up in TWI in this post. I thought it was humourous.

People frequently come in to the region with militaries with a dozen ACCs, nuclear weapons, the works, without the economy to back it up. I commented on it here in an oblique way.

It's cutting season, which means getting back to running regularly. I've lost two minutes on my PB for 5k/3mile. Lots of training ahead.
