Marine-Angrepskraft

Founded: July 21st, 1558
Country: Polar Svalbard
Type: Marines
Role: Expeditionary and Amphibious warfare
Size: 7,760 Raiders
540 Raider Reserve
Part of: Svalbardian Navy

The Marine-Angrepskraft (MAS) is the amphibious light infantry and special forces unit under the Svalbardian Navy. The Marine-Angrepskraft was formed in 1558 by King (Insert name) as the infantry component of the Svalbardian navy. At the time they were known as the Royal Marines, although with the uprising of the wolves that name was changed in the "De-royalization" of the nation.

As a highly specialized and adaptable light infantry force, the Raiders are trained for rapid deployment worldwide and capable of dealing with a wide range of threats. The Raiders are organised into a light infantry brigade (Raider Brigade) and a number of separate units, including 1st Raider Combat Group, Raider Air Cavalry, and a company strength commitment to the Special Forces Support Group. The Angrepskraft operates in all environments and climates, though particular expertise and training is spent on amphibious warfare, arctic warfare, mountain warfare, and expeditionary warfare.

Throughout its history, the Marine-Angrepskraft has seen action in a number of major wars often fighting beside the Svalbardian Army – including the (List of wars). In recent times the Angrepskraft has been deployed in (List of recent deployments). The Raiders have close international ties with allied marine forces, particularly the Miklanian marines, Miklanian Naval Special Warfare Command, the Corindi Marine Corps, Ostehaar's Unit 13(Allied Marine forces). Today, the Marine-Angrepskraft is an elite fighting force within the Svalbardian Armed forces, having undergone many substantial changes over its long history.

History

The Marine-Angrepskraft was founded by King (Needs name) in 1558, almost 200 years after what is considered the formalization of a royal navy. At this time the major weapon of these ships were their boarding parties and for the majority of its early existence these men were just considered sailors and were directly under naval rules and authority. As time went on though and they developed their own officers and customs, they increasingly distanced themselves from being considered sailors. This was especially apparent as raiding was coming back into favor and they were used as raiding parties. While that custom had somewhat fallen off after the invasions of the Khas-Kirat, the practice started to be endorsed again by the King for a short while.

By 1558 it was readily apparent that the "raiders" as they took to calling themselves, would no longer be considered the bottom of the naval barrel nor would they call themselves sailors. In order to gain some political capital, the King formed the Marine-Angrepskraft. While it would still be part of the navy, their officers would be able to hold much higher ranks and they would have more say in the Naval council.

(Add more stuff to early naval stuff)

In 1740 a major engagement for the Marine-Agrepskraft was being the main fighting force from the Svalbardians in the 1740 coalition. While Polar Svalbard was wary of sending a large army detachment, the navy was sent in force to assist the cleanup of the pirate actions in what is known today as the International District. The Marine-Angrepskraft was a major part in initial landings and attacks where they would set up strong footholds for coalition armies to land on. (King or Queen name) awarded the service the King's Cross for gallantry and heroism, an award that is still held in their headquarters to this day.

The Marine-Angrepskraft are part of the naval service and under command of the Naval Fleet Command within the Svalbardian Navy. The rank structure of the corps is similar to that of the Svalbardian Army with officers and other ranks recruited and initially trained separately from other naval personnel. Women are still unable to serve in combat roles within the MAS, especially after the often cited disaster that occurred when a study was conducted to see if women could handle the training regime for the MAS. On average, 1,100 recruits attend training courses at the Raider Training Center every year.

At its height in 1949 during the Imperial War, more than 30,000 people served in the Royal Marines. Following the Free Powers victory the Marine-Angrepskraft were quickly reduced to a post-war strength of 10,000. Soon after the war, with the draft ending and the military restructuring, the Marine-Angrepskraft was reconstituted into an 8,000 man commando-trained force. As of January 2019, the Marine-Angrepskraft has a strength of 7,760 Raiders and 540 Raider Reserve, giving a combined component strength of around 8,300.

Equipment

Infantry The basic infantry weapon of the Marine-Angrepskraft is the VSK3 (Vangen & Skaug Karabin 3) carbine, sometimes fitted with accompanying underslung grenade launchers. Support fire is provided by the VSM14 (Vangen & Skaug Maskingevær 14) Machine gun and the VSTM11 (Vangen & Skaug Tung Maskingevær 11) Heavy Machine gun; indirect fire by the (Mortar) Mortar. Sniper rifles used include (Insert sniper rifles). Other weapons include (Insert other weapons like missiles, pistols and knives).

Armor The Marine-Angrepskraft maintains no heavy armored units (although it often assists the army in deploying armored units by amphibious means), instead, they operate a fleet of lightly armored and highly mobile vehicles intended for amphibious landings or rapid deployment. The primary armoured fighting vehicle operated by the Armoured Support Group is the Panhard VBL all terrain vehicle acquired from France. Other, lighter vehicles include the (Fill in vehicles).

Artillery Field artillery support is provided by 21st Raider Artillery Regiment of the Svalbardian Army using the M119 Light Gun, a 105 mm towed howitzer. The regiment is commando-trained.

Aviation The Raider Air Cavalry of the Fleet Air Arm provides transport helicopters in support of the Marine-Angrepskraft. It currently uses the AH-6 Little Bird, the HH-60WM Pavelark medium-lift transport and the AH-64 Apache attack helicopters to provide direct aviation support for the Corps. In addition, the Svalbardian Air Force provides Chinook heavy-lift and MH-53JM Pave Low Heavy Utility transport helicopters.

Vessels The Marine-Angrepskraft operate a varied fleet of military watercraft designed to transport troops and material from ship to shore or conduct river or estuary patrols. These include the (Insert Hovercraft), the (Insert LCU), the (Insert LCVP) and the (Insert SDV) Swimmer Delivery Vehicle for special forces (Which works in tandem with the navy's Barracuda class submarines. Other smaller amphibious craft such as the Offshore Raiding Craft, Rigid Raider and Inflatable Raiding Craft are in service in much greater numbers.

Selection and Training
Raiders are required to undergo one of the longest and most physically demanding specialist infantry training regimes in the world. Recruit training lasts for 32 weeks for Raiders and 60 weeks for officers. Potential recruits must be male and aged 16 to 32 (18 to 25 for Commissioned Officers) and they must first undertake a series of interviews, medical tests, an eye/sight test, psychometric tests and a PJFT (Pre-joining fitness test). Once a potential recruit passes these, enlisted recruits undertake a 3-day selection course called PRMC (Potential Raider Marine Course) and potential officers undertake POC (Potential Officer Course) – both take place at the Raider Training Centre (RTC) in Egersund. Officers must also take the Admiralty Interview Board (AIB). Upon passing the 3-day course, recruits then start basic recruit training.

Throughout the recruit training, Raiders learn and develop many military skills such as weapons handling, marksmanship and proficiency with different firearms, personal administration, marching and parade ground skills, map reading and navigation, physical fitness and mental toughness development, fieldcraft skills such as camouflage and stalking, basic survival techniques, patrolling and sentry duty development, unarmed and armed close quarters combat (CQC), first aid, underwater escape, chemical biological radiological nuclear (CBRN) training, military communications and signals, teamwork skills, amphibious landings training, and leadership skills for officers to name a few.

Throughout his career, a Raider can specialize in a number of different roles upon completion of their respective courses after spending 1–2 years as a general duties (GD) Raider. Examples of some specializations and different courses includes the mountain leader (ML), physical training instructor (PTI), Assault Engineer (AE), Raider Military police (RMP), sniper (S), medical assistant (MA), pilot, reconnaissance operator (RO), drill instructor (DL), driver (D), clerk (C), signaler (SI), combat intelligence (CI), armorer (A), and heavy weapons (HW). Raiders can also apply for swimmer canoeist/Special Boat Service selection (SBS). All Raiders will also conduct training exercises on differing military skills on a regular basis including development in mountain, arctic, jungle, amphibious and desert warfare. They can also be involved in exchange training programs with other countries' forces – particularly the Miklanian Marines and the Corindi Marine Corps.

Formation and Structure

Full Command of the Marine-Angrepskraft is vested in the Fleet Commander (FLTCDR) with the Commander General Raider, a major-general, embedded within the Navy Command Headquarters (NCHQ) as Commander PS Amphibious Force (COMPSAMPHIBFOR).

The operational capability of the corps comprises a number of battalion-plus sized units:
- 1st Raider Combat Group
- 2nd Raider Combat Group
- 3rd Raider Combat Group
- 4th Raider Combat Group
- Raider Information Exploitation Group
- Raider Logistics Regiment
- Raider Combat Engineer Regiment
- Raider Armored Support Group
- Raider Air Cavalry
- Raider Special Assault Group
- Spesielle Angrepskorps

Each Combat Group will rotate through one of four duties every six months
- Lead Combat Group - This unit will be the first unit called upon in case of short-notice operations anywhere around the world.
- Force Generating - Training (Force Generating) to assume the role of Lead Commando
- Fleet Protection - Responsible for the security of Polar Svalbard's nuclear deterrent and other security-related duties
- Standing task – general duties unit

With the exception of the Raider Logistics Regiment, which is commanded by a full colonel, each of these units is commanded by a lieutenant-colonel of the Marine-Angrepskraft, who may have sub-specialised in a number of ways throughout their career.

1st Raider Brigade

Operational command of the four combat groups and the Raider Logistics Regiment is delegated to the 1st Raider Brigade, of which they are a part. Based at Wulhus Barracks, the brigade exercises control as directed by either CINCFLEET or the Permanent Joint Headquarters. As the main combat formation of the Marine-Angrepskraft, the brigade has its own organic capability to it in the field, Raider Information Exploitation Group, a battalion sized formation providing information operations capabilities, life support and security for the Brigade Headquarters.

Independent Elements

The independent elements of the Marine-Angrepskraft are:

Raider Training Centre: This is the training unit for the entire corps, and consists of three separate sections:
-Raider Training Wing: This is the initial basic commando training section for new recruits to the Marine-Angrepskraft
-Specialist Wing: This provides specialist training in the various trades which Raiders may elect to join once qualified and experienced in a Rifle Company.
-Command Wing: This provides command training for both officers and NCOs of the Marine-Angrepskraft.

Raider Special Assault Group: Provides training in the use of landing craft and boats, and also serves as a parent unit for the Spesielle Angrepskorps

Spesielle Angrepskorps (SAK) are naval special forces and under operational command of Svalbardian Military Intelligence Section 2. It is commanded by a lieutenant colonel qualified as a swimmer canoeist. SAK responsibilities include water-borne operations, maritime counter-terrorism and other special forces tasks.

MAS Band Service provides regular bands for the Svalbardian Navy and provides expertise to train Volunteer Bands. Musicians have an important secondary roles as medics, field hospital orderlies, CBRN specialists and any other roles that may be required of them. Personnel may not be commando trained; the band service is the only branch of the Marine-Angrepskraft to admit women.

Raider Air Cavalry

The Raider Air Cavalry (RAC) forms part of the Fleet Air Arm. It comprises three helicopter squadrons and is commanded by the Joint Helicopter Command. It consists of both Svalbardian Navy (SN) and Marine-Angrepskraft personnel. SN personnel need not be commando trained. The RAC is neither under the permanent control of the 1st Raider Brigade nor that of the Commander General Raider, but rather is allocated to support Marine-Angrepskraft units as required. It uses both HH-60WM Pavelark medium-lift and AH-6 Littlebird light transport/reconnaissance helicopters to provide aviation support for the Marine-Angrepskraft.

Background and Ideology

Parti Démocratique (frequently abbreviated PD; translation: "Democratic Party"), is the youngest political party in the United Republics, tracing its origins to the #OccupyKapolder movement of 2012-13. The Democratic Party identifies itself as the most liberal party in the United Republics, and is staunchly feminist, environmentalist, among other various ideologies. It is considered the most radically anti-federalist party in the United Republics, constantly attacking the system as "a flawed patriarchal mess of a system that has failed Dormill and Stiura too many times already, and should be replaced".

More often than not, Democrats consider the Ahnslen Model as the best transitory stage between a federal and unitary state, and advocates for its further adoption in spite of Federalism. Naturally, they are directly opposed to Dormill and Stiura Forwards, with both seeing each other as faux-liberals that fail to have the right vision for the nation.

History

In 2012, at the height of the 2011-15 Recession, a group of disgruntled students, workers, and other anti-federalists came together in the organized #OccupyKapolder movement, which sought to put pressure on the businesses, government, and people of Kapolder and the wider United Republics for their perceived failure to address the economic situation. The movement started as a disorganized hastag movement that saw little initial success. However, it gained significant ground when a group of previously unknown Liberal Party politicians began to organize the protests, successfully pressuring the government of Kapolder to end the austerity measures it enacted alongside the rest of the United Republics.

Since then, the movement was further reorganized into the Democratic Party, with the stated aim to completely dismantle the federal system and to enact a more centralized and liberal administration to best serve the people. The most important event to recently happen was when former Minister of the Treasury, Philippine Lémieux, joined the party. Lémieux was considered the architect of the reconstruction of Dormill and Stiura's economy, and his presence gave the party exactly what was needed for it to become a dominant party in the political landscape of the nation.

Background and Ideology

Gallië en Batavia, Vooriut! (frequently abbreviated GeBV; translation: "Dormill and Stiura, Forwards!"), sometimes called Vooriut! (English translation: "Forward!"), is a centrist and social-liberal political party in Dormill and Stiura. It was founded on 6 October 2005 by Garrett Davidson, a retired Sergeant of the Stiuraian Army, who was later elected Tribune en chef in the 2017 general election. Davidson, and President Cedar Dyson, a member of the party, considers Vooriut! to be a progressive movement, uniting both the left and the right behind Doraltic patriotism and common sense liberalism.

The party first ran candidates in the 2007 general elections including dissidents from Republicans United and minor parties. It won a contested majority in both the National Assembly and the States-General, securing 86 and 45 seats respectively. Its coalition partner, Republicans United, secured 38 and 20 respectively, adding the Republic of Stiura to achieve a majority within Congress, placing Davidson and Marshall Polley, a Stadtholder from Kapolder, into the Lachapelle government.

Deurmel en Stuiren, Vooriut! is a pro-Gaeltic movement that accepts globalization and wants to modernize and moralize Doraltic politics. The movement generally accepts members from other parties at a higher rate than other political parties in Dormill and Stiura and does not impose any fees on members who want to join as of 2018, instead relying on donations and government contribution for funding.

History

The coalition between the Center-National Party and the Conservative Party that was established in 2005 deeply angered the more liberal members of the Center-Nationals, who viewed the coalition as a "Unholy Alliance" with the extreme right. The sentiments would be carried most prominently by Sargent Garrett Davidson, who after retiring from the Stiuraian Army when it was absorbed into the United Republics Army, went on to join the Center-National Party in 2001, winning his seat in the 2003 election. He felt that the party had sacrificed its centrist roots simply for power and control, even if it did benefit the same people he wanted to represent the most. Davidson's charisma and initiative would soon be given a new direction after he visited Ainslie and spoke with several members of Ahnslen Centrists for Economic Growth and Development. Their core ideologies were extremely compatible with the Representative, and with several of his allies in the Forum once he returned.

Near the end of 2005, he alongside several other prominent centrist politicians from around the Isles met in Vlagberg, New Friesland to discuss the prospects of an international organization to represent each other and increase their exposure throughout the Isles. The Centrists International would be formed during that time, establishing itself as a non governmental organization dedicated to the promotion of centrism, economic development, and pragmatic politics. Several political parties, such as Ostehaar's Tomorrow Party, ACEGAD, Michigonia's Liberal Party, and Dragao do Mar's PDN, were among the attendees and the first political parties to associate themselves with the organization. During the closing ceremony of the First Forum, Garrett Davidson took the stage to finish the day's speeches and events. During his speech, he remarked on the surprising success of the Forum and proposed a second would be held in the following year. In his last remarks, he announced the formation of Dormill and Stiura's new Centrist party, Dormill and Stiura Forwards, and his own intentions to have the party join the Centrists International once he had guided the party to a position of legislative authority in the United Republics itself.

When the National Congress reconvened at the start of 2006, some 30 members of the National Assembly and 3 Stadtholders would abandon their party to join Davidson's own mutiny against the Center-Nationals, putting the Progressives on the map as a party to keep a close eye on. However, the situation of several politicians abandoning their party after the election precipitated a large case from several political parties and the Republic of New Friesland, and the mutinying members that would eventually rise through the courts and reach the High Federal Courts. The three mutinying Stadtholders, all from New Friesland, were withdrawn without replacement in a matter of days while the Representatives still had a legal fight with their former parties on the matter of their sudden departure. The Court of Cassation, and subsequently the Supreme Constitutional Court, heard arguments in regards to République Nouvelle Frise contre Justin Porcher et d'autres (Republic of New Friesland v. Justin Porcher et al.) later on that year, ruling that the members were in their right to leave their party at will under precedent that any member of Congress is permitted to act on their own judgment while in session so long as it was not a violation of established rules. The Constitutionality this decision, especially when the matter was changed to an argument of federal authority, remains a point of continued debate.

Leading into 2007, the Party officially adopted Doraltic Federalism on its platform, declaring that it would peruse the accomplishment of Federalism within Dormill and Stiura.

Vooriut! ran in every election in the United Republics in 2015. The party maintained the legal required limitations on how to run the campaigns in accordance to both national and local laws, in addition, the Party also eschewed multiple donations from large public figures, with chairman Pieter Winston declaring in a statement early into the election cycle that "Forwards will limit accepting these kinds of donations as it will run contrary to the idea that the people of Dormill and Stiura support the party. We cannot allow ourselves to tell our own voters that their opinions and support mean less than those from people or organizations with much more money to throw at us."

The youth of Dormill and Stiura (17-25) were considered to be critical in the party's victory in the Forum and Council in 2015, the first time the party has gained control in either chamber in Congress alongside gaining control of the Presidency. It is also suggested that the newly formed Democratic Party was also useful in the victory as it, alongside Vooriut!, sapped votes from the Liberal Unity Coalition, especially the Liberal Party throughout the election.

Arbeiderspartij (frequently abbreviated AP; translation: "Labour Party"), is Dormill and Stiura's only major socialist party. It was founded on 01 May 1994 as a successor to the Democratic Socialist Party that ruled in the Republican Union.

Labour was among the first parties to run candidates in the 1995 election that immediately followed reunification, initially winning several seats. Since then, however, especially in recent years given the actions of other socialist governments, Labour has been facing further scrutiny and has been losing its power in the National Congress, relying on other less civil means to influence the Liberals to grant them council seats.

Labour is a socialist movement with intents to make Dormill and Stiura a fully socialist nation, its policies on members joining from other parties as well as other members is to first join a labour union who represents them in the Trade and Labour Council in the National Workingmen's Congress. Individual representation in the Party requires long-term membership, typically in excess of 6 years.

Formation
The Labour Party took up the bulk of the membership of the one-party government that was the Social Democratic Party of the Republican Union, and thus was among the top blocs in terms of leadership. As the situation in the Republican Union began to further fall out of control of the party, the Labour bloc was the first to suggest a negotiated deal with the west, where the party was given special status as an official party in a reunited Dormill-Stiuraian state, with the capitalists allowed to form their own counterbalance. This two-party state concept was rejected outright by both Federalist and Democratic elements in 1982, causing a brief lapse in acceptance by the Republican Union, with most of the resistance coming from the Labour bloc.

As reunification grew closer, protests in Chery and Cour Rouge forced a new, pro-reunification government into power and finally acceded to the Dormill-Stiuraian Constitution. These actions led to the complete collapse of the Social Democratic Party into the modern Labour and Liberal parties, with several other smaller parties forming from whoever wanted to split away. Labour was formed in 1994 as a rebranding of the original Social Democrats, even changing their language of business to Dutch to separate themselves from the Social Democrats. This saw initial success as they gained several members in Dutch-majority Congressional districts. In the first Council, they had some members appointed by the Republic of Dormill and Republic of Baimjedia but came into the reunited nation as a minor party. They quickly aligned themselves with the anti-federalist Liberals on most issues, forming a soft coalition due to the disparity in their economic philosophies.

2017 Elections
As 2017 came, Labour had been experiencing a massive drop in membership and even partner businesses as the party leaders began to impose more strict membership rules. In 2016, the party signed new by-laws that would compel its union partners to have all of its members officially register as members of the party. Prior to this, members of a Union could decline representation by their union in the party, this caused a large scale shift away from the party in the wake of the 2011 recession as the Party gave no real impression of wanting to change more than what the Liberals had already done. This brew the popular sentiment that "Labour is little more than Liberals in a brighter shade of red", causing party popularity to plummet.

When the 2017 Congressional elections came, Labour was fighting hard to maintain the 11 remaining seats they had. Unfortunately, the popularity of President Cedar Dyson and his Forwards Party swept the elections, leaving Labour only with forum representatives from two cities, Feerwerd and Klappenberg. When the National Congress assembled in 2018, Labour demanded a seat at the table with the Liberal Unity Coalition, and further demanded representation on the Council, which was begrudgingly accepted by Liberal and Democratic leaders to ensure that they wouldn't take more drastic measures. The people of the Republics that sent Labour delegates to the Council have since demanded their removal since no Labour members got past the Primaries, and were not elected by the people.

Parti Libéral (frequently abbreviated PL; translation: "Liberal Party"), is a center-left social liberal political party in Dormill and Stiura. It was founded on 15 March 1994 as a splinter from the soon to be defunct Democratic Socialist Party of the Republican Union at the end of the reunification process.

The Liberals were among the first parties to run candidates in the 1995 election that immediately followed reunification, winning control of the government. It maintained its control over the government for most of the 2000s until the sudden rise of Dormill and Stiura Forwards and the Democratic Party, both of which sapped votes from the Liberal Party since 2011

Parti Libéral is a pro-Gaeltic movement that accepts globalization and wants to modernize and moralize Dormill-Stiuraian politics. The party generally does not accept members from other parties on a frequent basis and imposes a membership fee for those who wish to have some measure of voting power within the party.

The Liberal Party had its beginnings as the "right wing" bloc of the Democratic Socialist Party of the Republican Union, the only ruling party of the nation. Most of the bloc believed that a transition into a mixed market economy would reduce the risk of economic stagnation and strengthen their position to compete with Stiuraian and Kapolderian businesses. The bloc was also the smallest of the whole group, commanding few seats in the Party Congress throughout its existence.

As reunification became apparent in the 1990s, the Democratic Socialists began to fall apart, with plenty of its blocs mutinying in 1993 and 1994 to prepare for the transition into the United Republics, this period of the collapse of the Party led to the creation of the Liberal Party. In a surprising aspect of the first 1995 election was that the Liberals ran away with the victory, campaigning for a "complete revamp" of the new economy to be both competitive and equitable, this was particularly strong in the urban centers of Stiura and Kapolder, who had up through that point had also dealt with a struggling left-center movement to counter the rise of the Conservative and Center-National Parties. This success was manifest both in Congress where they gained the only supermajority in either chamber since its founding and in the newly appointed President Antonin Siskind, a mild mannered man who stuck close to the party, or frequently flip-flopping between policies, depending on who told him what to support on a certain day, even his wife had considerable influence in his actions. His lack assertiveness and his uncertainty of his own opinions led to him only serving one term from 1996 to 2000. However, the Liberals managed to use this as a means to enact their own policy, such as the renewal 1985 Treaty of Haalban that established a special relationship between the State of Ostehaar and the Baimjedian Republic, alongside social programs such as the “New Future Initiative” where STEM fields were given priority funding and attention in public schools, which bears fruit in the modern day as tech startups, engineering works, and scientific research reaches its zenith. Being in control of the First Congress, the Liberals had the task of defining the borders of the Republics, where they decided to stick with the Constitution and kept the Republics as they were when the negotiations began in 1982.

The Liberal-controlled 1st Congress began its work by formally ending the White Eagle Cape War, the Peace of St. Recont forcing the United Republics and Noronica to recognize the sovereignty of the Republic of Arvan. After that, however, the new state began to see teething problems. The most critical of such problems was the rampant unemployment and runaway inflation initiated by the Gael Crash of 1989 and reinforced by a Housing Crisis at the tail end of the Arvannan War. The Liberal Government stepped in with a pair of wide-reaching programs intended to “force” the invisible hand to work in favor of the Dormill-Stiuraian people, enacting laws to create the Ministries of Labor and Employment, and Housing and Development; which was followed by the Reformed Banking Act of 1994 which established multiple new institutions such as the Bank of the United Republics that serves as the Central Bank of the nation to this day. As the immediate threat of a second economic crash averted, the attention of the Liberal Government turned towards redeveloping the power of the Congress, its relationship with the Republics, and ultimately how the nation shall operate itself. Going forward, Congress would gain more powers and responsibilities with respect to the Republics.

As they continued to control the Dormill-Stiuraian government, a new political ideology had begun to take root among the most powerful members of the Liberal Party. A result of the integration of several Unionist hardliners after the dissolution of the Union Party, these politicians began to reshape their original ideology into the modern Democratic movement, which seeks to put an end to Federalism entirely and reshape the Dormill-Stiuraian state into a recreation of the Republican Union, a shift that prompted the creation of the parties Republicans United and the Progressives.

2015 Elections
The Liberals ran in every election in the United Republics in 2015, as they always had. Like all other political parties the Liberals maintained the legal required limitations on how to run the campaigns in accordance to both national and local laws and eschewed multiple donations from large public figures in an attempt to gain voters back from Forwards which had taken similar actions during the election cycle.

In 2015, the Liberals lost a Governorship and several seats in both the States-General and National Assembly.

Républicains Unis (frequently abbreviated RU or UR; translation: "Republicans United"), is the only extant party that formed from the Center-National split in late 2013. Republicans United describes itself as a Christian Democrat party, and advocates for religious rights at home and abroad.

Republicans United first ran candidates for elections in 2015, where the current chairman Justin Abraham challenged Cedar Dyson throughout the election season. In the end, Republicans United joined with Dormill and Stiura Forwards on most legislative agendas. When the Liberal Unity Coalition formed in 2018, this alliance between the Republicans and Progressives was solidified, granting the two parties more than enough power to control the agenda of the Forum and Council.

Republicans United is a Christian Democrat party, and a staunch advocate for religious rights. Of all parties in Dormill and Stiura, theirs is one of the only two that requires an affirmation of faith to be a member, with prospective members required to both identify with a religion and frequently attend religious services. In recent years, due to an influx of non-Christian religious members, Republicans United has relaxed older regulations on the types of faith that would be allowed into the party, and has created dedicated blocs in their party for Muslims, Haeuvans, even Munism. Strangely enough, however, the party considers Whindist Christians, dominant in Ainslie and Swaneeak Atoll, to be ineligible to join the party.

Formation
Republicans United got its start as the significantly more nationalist half of the Center-National Party, which formed shortly before reunification as the mainstay center-right political party to counterbalance the Liberals while also preventing the far right Conservative Party from gaining ground. Ever since the United Republics has existed in the modern day, the Center-Nationals had been in the opposition of the dominant Liberals, always fighting for control of the government.

In the late 2000s, Justin Abraham and Kermit Benbow joined the Center-National Party, and began to steer it into the direction that would be the base of Republicans United. These actions began to isolate the centrists of the party, many of who were already being swayed towards the ACEGAD-aligned Progressives. The most dramatic change in the policy of the Center-Nationals, and the one that finally meant the end of the party as a whole, was the addition of the affirmation of faith and the declaration of Whindist heresy. This action sparked widespread controversy throughout the United Republics to the point that the National Congress issued a formal apology to the Whindist Church for the action of the party.

While most centrists abandoned the party to join Dormill and Stiura Forwards, the importance of the other half of the Center-Nationals now rebranded as Republicans United forced the two parties to solidify their coalition in the face of the competing Liberal Unity Coalition.

2015 Elections
Republicans United fielded candidates in the 2015 election in only New Friesland and Stiura, where they dominated the interior of both Republics against fierce competition between other rival parties. Republicans United lost some seats in the National Assembly, made up for by dominating the government of Stiura, and taking full control of its delegation to the States-General.

Background and Ideology

Conservatieve Partij (frequently abbreviated CP; translation: "Conservative Party"), is a major Doraltic political party, having consistently won both Republic and National representation since its founding in 1821. As the oldest political party in the United Republics, and the only extant pre-division political party, Conservatives are seen as the most traditional Dormill-Stiuraians in the political stage, which the party has used to its benefit. Although it and its historic rival, the Liberal Party have lost national prominence to the emergent Dormill and Stiura Forwards, and Democratic Party, it remains powerful in the Doraltic political right, advocating for a kind of "radical" Federalism to respond to perceived societal ills and an increased military presence in Gael at large to respond to threats against Doraltic interests, oriented particularly at Balnik, Khoveria, and Noronica.

On both political and social issues, the Conservatives continue to advocate for Moserian Federalism blended with increased control over social life. On economic issues, the Conservatives strongly advocate for liberalism and deregulation and simultaneous support for "traditional" Doraltic industries such as heavy manufacturing, fishing, and power generation.

Within the Doraltic political sphere, the Conservatives are often seen as "dangerous regressive radicals" within the current popular viewpoint, with both Progressives and Democrats agreeing that the kind of Dormill and Stiura the Conservatives want to return to is not in the best interests of the nation. However, the party has found increasing support from the Republicans United Party as the pair have grown increasingly populistic in order to strengthen their primary voting blocs, suburban, non-college educated, European-origin Dormill-Stiuraians.

In its history, the Conservative Party has had three Presidents and had consistent control over the former National Congress through 1845 - 1875. As of 2021, the party holds 28 seats in the National Assembly and 20 in the States-General, representing the Republics of Feerwerd and Stiura. Among the Republics themselves, they maintain the Captaincy of Stiura as they have since Reunification, although they have gained considerable ground in the legislatures of Feerwerd, Eppendorf, and Temple.

History

The ideas that fomented the creation of the Conservative Party had its roots as far back as the Stiuraian Revolution. These ideas revolved around a truly distinct Dual-Federal state, where the national government has one clearly defined range of competencies that exclusive to it, and the local governments with their own exclusive competencies. In both Stiura and the subsequent United Republics from 1795, these ideas took the form of the Stiuraian States-General and the following National Congress, both of which were beholden exclusively to the constituent states and were given very clear direction by such states to act in a certain way.

However, this brand of Dual-Federalism worked both ways, and President Rémy de Launey utilized the latitude the young federal government had to create a vast bureaucracy that overlapped several areas where the Republics felt they had control over, especially in the undeveloped territories of the Doraltic South. This became a focal point for Dormill-Stiuraians that opposed de Launey's Liberal Republicans for the next several Presidencies, with each subsequent President expanding the role of the federal government into the perceived affairs of the Republics. This came to a head in 1813 as a conflict within Stiura over the geographically vital cities of Zwolle and Eppendorf reached a boiling point. Just days before local militias reached Zwolle, President Rene Perot negotiated a deal within the National Congress to resolve the dispute by creating the Republic of Zwolle mere days after the Republics passed an amendment to increase their size from five members to a Republic to ten, which Kapolder and Dormill filled in order to out-vote Stiura.

This intervention by the federal government into the situation was considered a last straw for the anti-liberal faction of Doraltic politics, who used this moment as a focal point for their efforts going forward. The official party was formed at a convention in Port Orange, New Friesland on 14 July 1821, declaring what was normally celebrated as Bastille Day as "The Day of Resistance against Federal tyranny". It would be at this convention that all four Conservative presidents, Alexis Moser, Tanner Béranger, Carlisle Boelens, and Gael Grosse would meet each other for the first time and begin collaborating between each other.

While the Conservatives would miss out on the 1820 national election, they would spend the subsequent decade building their base of power throughout Stiura and New Friesland, eventually gaining control over their individual legislatures in the mid-1830s. It would be through this that the first truly Conservative Stadtholders would enter federal politics, further pushing their agenda under the developing ideology of Alexis Moser, who had grown in fame across Dormill and Stiura for his Federalism essays, which boiled down the Conservative viewpoint on the Doraltic system for the lay person, which contributed greatly to the party's growing membership.

For these efforts, Moser would be tapped by party leadership for the 1830 Presidency, which he won handily against Friederike Langlois. Now commanding power across the nation, the Conservatives used their power to separate federal affairs from those of the Republics, most importantly by banning the military from operating in the land of the Republics without express permission by the leadership of any Republic in question, confining the military to existing bases across the nation.

The party would continue on this trend for each successive presidency, worsening the existing divisions within Doraltic society to such a point where when the public finally reasserted their rights as a collective, it would end with the Conservatives almost permanently removed from national power ever since, especially in the later years of Favre's presidency when prominent Conservative leaders were arrested, often without trial, and removed from national politics. This would be the condition the party found itself in all the way through the end of the United Republics, where even the most ardent hardliners of the party resisted Ludvoic Denis' attempts at power.

Since Reunification, Conservative politics has seen limited popularity throughout the nation. Aside from the Republic of Stiura, the party has never won or maintained a Governorship, and has a minimal presence in national politics, often being seen as an inferior rival to their counterparts in the form of the Liberal Party.

Republicans United on Whindism. I think I want to make this a common trait among Dormill-Stiuraian Christians that mainlanders view Whindism as heresy while those living in Swaneeak had adopted it almost entirely (making it the only Whindist majority polity in all of Dormill and Stiura)

Whindism is the second largest religion in AM on other hand :P

Y'know. I've been listening to alot of history. RIP to the Gauls and Celtics, damn that was some crazy sh*t (Really wish I had learned more about early rome, those absolute crazy dudes). But nonetheless, I think I've found a new phrase for arguments that involve the American Manifest Destiny against the natives, "Woe to the Vanquished" If I had a sword and there was a scale I would throw it on too.

Abel and Penny had been complaining about how sh*t the siege had been, and that was before the goddamn terorists had started flinging faeces and bodies at them. It was monstrous. It was barbabric. It was the lowest, most disgusting thing Abel had ever witnessed. There was nothing quite like seeing a bloated corpse flung through the air to shatter against the bulk of a tank, sending limbs and viscera scattering and smearing steel with warm meat. The stench had risen to ungodly proportions. The frontlines had taken to wearing their gas masks just to filter it out. The flies were omnipresent, their buzzing a cacophonous, nearly subliminal hum.

Wtf!? These commies were horrible. And working with Islamic terrorists? Christ.

Yeah. The way they got to San Javier is even more hilarious.

They crashed a passenger plane to land there...

Then my folks in San Javier resorted to throwing poop and totally not kung fu at the Atnaians. They were not even communists but so-called "moderate" terrorist groups (from Islamists to some Keomoran-Thakali group called the Dragon Faction to Magarati SOAR) hired to do the dirty work...

...What was the Magarati government thinking...What was I thinking...

You know what, Menna shuli. I think I will be involved in San Javier. I should probably also finally make some good use of this organisation. Maybe elements within Magarati government and AMI still dream of a communist revolution and want to work together with TIS.
