 The Greater People's Empire of The Controlist Ferwerter Union | Where the Ferwerter Government was very careful in hiding its most controversial elements from the world and constructing a very particular image and history for itself, Caryton was not so pragmatic and the Ferwerter propaganda machine was glad to use this fact. Ferwert had had a complicated history with homosexuality itself. Marrum and Hegebeintum had once been controlled by the Nauta-oligarchy who had banned all forms of sexuality other than heterosexuality and those who deviated were publicly executed. During the Ferwerter Civil War the Ferwerter Controlist People's Liberation Army had brought down the Nauta-oligarchy and liberated the region from its religious oppression. Since then homosexuality had never been banned, but in a campaign by the Ferwerter Controlist People's Liberation Party to promote massive population growth it had been highly discouraged and homosexuals were forced to have at least two children in a heterosexual relationship before being allowed to participate in a relationship of any other nature. Of course this part of history as with many parts of Ferwerter history had been erased and forgotten. In a later campaign the population growth following the previous campaign had grown out of hand and a strict one child policy was enacted and some ethnic minorities were sterilized (another event erased from Ferwerter history) while homosexual relationships were actually encouraged. Nowadays there were no such rules anymore and the Ferwerter people were free to do whatever they wanted in the bedroom as long as they filled in the proper permission forms to get children. --------------------- The Ferwerter Ministry of Foreign Affairs "The Ferwerter government wishes to express shock and dismay against Carytons reconfirmation of its stance against sexual freedoms and basic civil rights. Maybe he was there simply to write down his own impression? Whatever the case the man never looked up from the pad as he wrote. When he was finished he sat silently, his eyes darting over the pad several times - likely rereading what he had written. Finally he clicked his pen and put it in his suit pocket before laying the pad face-down on the table in front of him. Without so much as a word he then stood up, adjusted his suit, and walked out of the room closing the door behind him and leaving the briefcase, files, and notepad on the table. The red light on the cameras in the corners served as a reminder to Mr. Nebbins that he was being watched at all times and, therefor, wasn't truly alone. The nation is in shock from the news, with #RefSolis trending on MakBook, reaching the #1 spot in under an hour, a new record for any trend in the history of MakBook. OkoTV News asked many local citizens what they thought about this referendum and over 90% of the responses were generally the same, stating "It's crazy, I don't know if this is the same leader we've had since the war, or if they got replaced by a lookalike". Some however have shared concerns, stating a conspiracy that the government plans to arrest anybody who votes "No" in the referendum, but many do not agree, and the government has refused to comment on the matter. NCB Officials Convicted In Black Market Ring Category: Law & Order Today, the Emperor, in their official capacity as Chief Justice of the Inspectorate's Court Of Makko Oko, released the official ruling on the case of the NCB officials running the black market ring that was previously reported on. In the 630-page ruling, the Chief Justice, along with the presiding judges, stated that all of the NCB officials were found guilty on all charges, and that 11 of them had obtained a plea bargain with the Emperor's Prosecution Service to get downgraded charges. The Emperor's Prosecution Service wasn't available for comment on the plea bargains. Miguel Kellison, the Minister Of Internal Security, says to OkoTV News that a Ferwerter Ministry Of State Security building has already been approved and is slated to be built in the capital city of Opposh. Miguel did not respond to questions regarding the MOIS's presence in foreign nations. This change comes on the cusp of global war breaking out, with multiple nations threatening international peace, including the situations in Karackistan and Anekhstan. The Emperor said to OkoTV News that these changes were necessary to secure national sovereignty for the nation and for its program members. The Ministry Of Diplomatic Affairs has given all affected governments 2 weeks to contact the ministry regarding installation of Makko Okoan buildings in their nations, and theirs in Makko Oko. Any violation thereafter will lead to expulsion from the program. Referendum Results, Government Quiet Category: Law & Order The results from both referendums (civil rights and constitution) are in, and the results are quite intriguing. First, on the constitutional front, the mandatory court appearances fell flat, with only 20% of voters saying "Yes", and the same happened to the foreign titles ban, except almost 50% of voters said "Yes", and finally, the only one to succeed, the referendum procedures, had a whopping 90% of voters saying "Yes". The votes for the constitutional referendum are questioned by civil rights experts, who don't believe that those counts are accurate. The government could not be reached for comment on the matter. Secondly, on the civil rights act, a very similar action happened, with only the disability protections provision succeeding with 70% of voters saying "Yes". The national no discrimination provision failed with only 50% of voters saying "Yes". Some think that people got confused between the two provisions, hence the lack of votes for it. Karackistni defense system kicks in launching homing flares to intercept ISKA rockets. The sky is illuminated by the rockets, flares, and explosions in the sky the people are fleeing and some of the rockets were causing shrapnel to fall out of the sky. In the resulting barrage of ISKA rockets around 14 were dead and 67 injured. | |
