The United States of Elutherias is a massive, cultured nation, ruled by Omar McCormick with a fair hand, and renowned for its museums and concert halls, deadly medical pandemics, and unlimited-speed roads. The hard-nosed, hard-working, democratic, devout population of 1.935 billion Elutherians are effectively ruled by a group of massive corporations, who run for political office and provide their well-off citizens with world-class goods and services. Their poorer citizens, however, are mostly starving to death while being urged to go out and get real jobs. The populace has reasonably extensive civil rights, although these are mostly aimed at allowing them to buy whatever they like.

The tiny, corrupt, pro-business government prioritizes Defense, with Industry, Administration, and Education also on the agenda, while Social Policy and Welfare aren't funded at all. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Columbia. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 5.5%.

The frighteningly efficient Elutherian economy, worth 283 trillion Dollars a year, is broadly diversified and led by the Retail industry, with major contributions from Arms Manufacturing, Gambling, and Soda Sales. Average income is an impressive 146,388 Dollars, but there is an enormous disparity between incomes, with the richest 10% of citizens earning 825,747 per year while the poor average 12,769, a ratio of 64.7 to 1.

Mountain rescue missions can end with more people lost than found, the traditional Violetist dish of stuffed sheep's head is served with an intense look of shock upon its face, the poor are often seen pale and dizzy after selling their blood to make ends meet, and citizens are regularly found digging for treasure in their gardens. Crime, especially youth-related, is all-pervasive, with the police force struggling against a lack of funding and a high mortality rate. Elutherias's national animal is the Eagle, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to toxic air pollution.
