Skin colour is a very different thing from genitals, and don't even serve the same purpose. Genitals are called 'sex' organs for a reason. Also, you can find people of certain skin colour to be more sexually attractive than other, which can be part of one's sexuality if defined as "a person's sexual feelings". | The Communist Campus of Chocolatistan | I was pointing out the false equivalence you made when comparing attraction based on someone's skin colour to attraction based someone's genitalia when defending your claim that we shouldn't base sexuality solely around the latter. If someone is attracted to someone's genitalia (or 'biological sex'), then yes, a person can of course also be sexually attracted to bi- and homosexual females and trans persons (if they have female genitalia) if they're attracted to heterosexual females otherwise. Concerning your point that everyone is bi/pansexual to some extend according to some theories: according to my knowledge, it's consensus among scientists that humans evolved in multi-male/multi-female mating systems, a bit like present day bonobos (which are universally bisexual), with sex having important social functions. That theory would explain both physical (e.g. the very large and uniquely shaped human penis) as well as behavioural ("moral degeneracy") oddities observed among humans. I didn't say someone has to necessarily be more attracted to people of a certain ethnic group and skin pigmentation, but it can very well be the case. Skin colour is actually quite an important factor in determining someone's sexual attractiveness (e.g. doi/10.1098/rstb.2016.0350), but you can of course argue how healthy it is for a society when a a specific distinction on "race" is made. I think someone should be free to feel attracted to whoever they like, but it can breed segregation (literally), and could cause substantial problems when taken broader than "I do(n't) think you're hot". | Nation of orchid | I apologize for not making it more clear, but 3/4 of my message was quoting Tesdai, including the part about people being attracted to people based on their being black and white and all that. However, I can only speak on my lived experience with cisgender people based on when my marriage was briefly open. And with cisgender men, they fell into two broad categories, they thought I was attracted as a woman. But once I told them I was pre-op, because gender confirmation is very expensive, even if you have health insurance, they either stopped talking to me. Or they wanted me to be their experiment. And what a lot of cisgender people don't get, is that as a transwoman, I have a lot of the same struggles as cisgender women do, because the US is still largely Patriarchal. So even though I personally am rarely attracted to men, part of me still feels the need to be validated and told I'm pretty by cisgender men. And to be oversexualized by men, and maybe even some women because of my genitalia feels really gross to me. Especially because I've been assaulted multiple times by both men and women. I'm sorry for oversharing, I just wanted to bring a little bit of my background that I feel is relevant. And I'm also sorry if it seems like I'm trying to garner sympathy.
