In response to the issue raised by comrade Community-Monitor Random Goose:

The Pact we had signed with TCD stipulated that we send and receive mutual tributes to support each party to the contract. If we lack a tribute from TCD, we will simply proceed to withdraw our own local on-ground representative, which is my proxy Ferdinand Schafer, and re-designate the Embassy status with TCD to reflect the immediate and effective cancellation of the Integration-agreement. However, albeit it was comrade The Crossland who originally got TCD into this arrangement with the NSM, we do not require that it be his puppet specifically if they are unable to confidently commit to this task at the present. I already talked with comrade Silver-Tree previously and, unfortunately, while they are not an option, there are other stable long-term natives here in TCD that could also take that role if they are so inclined. First candidate that comes to mind is comrade Dillimore, as they seem to be more active.

I will give this matter a little bit more time before deciding on further actions, to see how it develops. Should we be required to withdraw from TCD, this is not a permanent downgrade in relations of course. It is entirely contingent to the ability of TCD to reciprocate our attention towards TCD.

This statement also comes a little late due to the outage that occurred; but in observance of our previous comments on the matter, the NSM has decided to revoke the Class-C Integration Agreement-pact between NSM and TCD, originally established early on into our relationship, seeing as how The Crossland has lately been unable to consistently maintain their tribute in the NSM, and seeing that there were no other immediately available options out of this situation, as we investigated. Our TCD attache, Ferdinand Schafer, has therefore been recalled. It is okay for us to retain TCD as a Standard Diplomatic Partner without an active pact; but when and if The Crossland manages to come back to it, let us know and we can see about restoring mutual support.

Good question. The fact is I don't know for certain yet. Until the trading cards are reinstated I can't determine the position. I suspect I have made some losses, but its probably largely offset by the fact that back if trading cards as a whole are restarted back at May 2023 I think that compared with April 2024 I will have a lower card deck value but a higher bank value. At least everyone who trades will be rewound back to the same point.

I'm actually quite enjoying NS without cards. I can just enjoy issues and telegrams and shaping policies for my nation.

Do you or any of your other friends on NS trade cards? What do you and make of not having trading cards?

You are in a relatively fortunate position. It will be worse for those many newbies who started the whole collecting business within that year, they'd have nothing from before to sit on.

While I find the prospect of getting all worked up over some "cards" to be somewhat silly, for those that do derive enjoyment and satisfaction from it and have just got into it, you can understand the feeling of getting excited over something only for that something to be suddenly ripped out from your reach. Its like getting a new fancy car (if you're into driving) that you're happy to show off and get to cruise in, then someone steals it or you find yourself in a crash that is no fault of your own. I'd expect a varying portion of them to throw the towel into the ring and walk out after the whole fiasco, regardless of any reparations that may be given for the losses.

I'm not a "trader" per se. I'd buy and sell here and there. For me the cards are a little thing you can do on the side and my collecting interests were primarily tied to the aesthetics and thematics of each card more so than to their bank-value. My core original collection should be mostly unharmed by the rollback (which is enough to put me in the top1%), the other galleries would require reconstruction, but I think I'm just going to focus on that one collection going forward. Not sure I have the energy to redo the rest.

I'm not aware anyone else in our region had anywhere near a large collection as I did.

I think my cards and bank are as they were before the system failure. Have you found the same?

I think a few accounts have closed during the system outage. I seem to be slightly further up the rankings for deck value.
