The Consortium of American Gensokyo is a massive, safe nation, ruled by Rinnosuke Morichika with an even hand, and notable for its keen interest in outer space, free-roaming dinosaurs, and otherworldly petting zoo. The hard-nosed, devout population of 2.08 billion Gensokyoans are prohibited from doing almost everything except voting, which they do timidly and conservatively.

The medium-sized, moralistic government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Law & Order, and Education. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Kourindou. The average income tax rate is 31.8%, but much higher for the wealthy.

The local economy, worth 129 trillion mons a year, is fairly diversified and led by the Book Publishing industry, with significant contributions from Beef-Based Agriculture, Basket Weaving, and Pizza Delivery. Black market activity is notable. State-owned companies are common. Average income is 62,092 mons, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Rinnosuke Morichika's speeches are beloved by insomniacs, Rinnosuke Morichika's exquisite office door is replaced monthly due to angry petitioners, the minority inevitably have their addenda vetoed, and planespotters are emigrating in droves. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. American Gensokyo's national animal is the Haishaku and its national religion is Shintoism.
