The Dark Voidlands of The Children of Eternity is a colossal, cultured nation, ruled by Lord Powehi with an iron fist, and renowned for its otherworldly petting zoo, strictly enforced bedtime, and multi-spousal wedding ceremonies. The hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical, humorless, devout population of 7.51 billion Eternalists are kept under strict control by the oppressive government, which measures its success by the nation's GDP and refers to individual citizens as "human resources."

The enormous, corrupt, moralistic, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Defense, and Education. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of The Temple of Arkon-Kur. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 72.2%.

The all-consuming Eternalist economy, worth 784 trillion obsidian chips a year, is led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, with significant contributions from Trout Farming, Gambling, and Woodchip Exports. Black market activity is rampant. State-owned companies are reasonably common. Average income is an impressive 104,440 obsidian chips, but there is an enormous disparity between incomes, with the richest 10% of citizens earning 629,463 per year while the poor average 7,794, a ratio of 80.8 to 1.

In court almost every witness is a hostile witness, noble feuds don't end until one side gets their point across, a typical peasant's life cycle leads from birth to the gallows, and prisons are filled with the cackles and sobs of a deranged inmate population. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. The Children of Eternity's national animal is the void wraith, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its national religion is Eternalism.
