    A looming Cobalt crisis

    • Zaire nationalized all mineral resources and has expelled Chinese mining companies
    • China prior to nationalization owned 40-70% of Zairean mines, and accounts for 50% of Cobalt related refinement

A Zairean child, working for a Zairean-owned mine under troubling circumstances.

    _
KINSASHA — This week, President Denis Nguesso of Zaire launched the massive nationalization of Zairean mineral resources and mines, and implemented a 15% Cobalt and Coltan ingredient export tariff on China and other countries. According to Zairean sources, "prices of cobalt and coltan will be increased by 15% for countries that are not interested nor willing to contribute in aiding Zaire's development; those that are interested and actively aiding Zaire's development, the NZMRC will provide a 10% discount onto cobalt and coltan prices."

    _
While the circumstances of such a decision are unknown, we can certainly speculate. Just one week following the Chinese announcement of increased partnership with Egypt, Sudan, the Galla, with no reference to Zaire, President Nguesso gave these remarks:

“Zaire will not allow itself to continued to be exploited for the benefit of the world while simultaneously allowing ourselves to regress and deteriorate. We will not allow ourselves to be pimped anymore. Those who are friends with Zaire should see no problem with this new policy but those only seek to cheat the work and sweat of the Zairean worker. This is unacceptable and I will not stand for it no longer. ”

Likely in reference to Chinese mining companies which own 40-70% of core Zairean mines, President Nguesso's remarks criticize the exportation of Cobalt and other mineral related resources. Though China has not announced a new set of partnerships with Zaire, it has certainly not been absent from the country. From the 1980's and on, Chinese companies of all sorts have operated in Zaire, and even the Chinese government has invested within the country.

    _
Aside from long lasting mutual economic relations, there has been no publicized dialogue between the two countries regarding a refusal or guarantee for China to invest further in Zaire. Despite this, China has still been punished.

    _
Following the announcement by President Nguesso, many Chinese mining companies operating in Zaire expressed condemnation of the nationalization of mineral resources and mines. Chinese mineral mining and exploration giant, China Molybdenum Co. (CMOC) issued a statement declaring the company would minimize production to "patiently wait for a conclusive agreement" which would allow the company to continue operation under different circumstances, such as increased royalties. The company did however reiterate that if nationalization is fully and universally implemented, it will "rightfully assert control" over its mining equipment and will demand "compensation for any seized equipment" or resources owned by itself. Other companies have also indicated their intent to maintain control over their equipment and resources.

    _
While the 15% tariff on Cobalt and Coltan ingredients has been immediately implemented on China, it is unclear how soon Zaire will forcefully begin the nationalization of mining operations. It is also unclear if Zaire's leadership has any intent to begin negotiations with China regarding the tariffs and future Chinese investments.

    _
    The Larger Picture:

    _
Key facts — Chinese companies own the operations of 40-70% of Cobalt producing mines within Zaire, prior to nationalization. China refines half of global refined Cobalt; 45,046 metric tons vs. Zaire's ~400 metric tons. Additionally, China is the manufacturer of the majority of Cobalt dependent goods, such as rechargeable batteries and tech components for brands like Microsoft, Apple, and many more.

    _
Zaire’s decision will have detrimental effects for developed countries such as the United States, those in the European Union, and the developed world, which continue to rely on China’s dominance of global Cobalt refinement and Cobalt component manufacturing.

    _
Despite Zaire’s intent to only punish countries that have not contributed further to Zaire’s development, Zaire has punished China, and thus the entire world, as the global supply chain of Cobalt revolves around China and over half of the world’s Cobalt ingredients that are refined in China. As Cobalt ingredient producing mining companies withdrawal from Zaire, experts predict a 70%+ drop in Cobalt ingredient related mining conducted by Chinese companies, equating to a 40% decrease of Cobalt producing mining in Zaire, in the short term.

    _
Such a drop in production could result in shortages of many common technology products. In addition to the significant shortages of Cobalt, the 15% export tariff implemented by Zaire against China will force prices for Cobalt and Cobalt related goods in most countries upwards 50-75%.

    _
Unless Zaire and China come to an unlikely deal that ensures Zaire’s Cobalt ingredient mining will remain at somewhat equal levels, and that tariffs remain neutral, there will be an almost certain risk of the global supply of Cobalt becoming short and expensive. Even the most realistic deal, a compromise of unchanged tariffs and various benefits for Chinese mining companies to relinquish machinery, would still result in the entire process of which Cobalt ingredients are mined, exported, and refined in China becoming an estimated 20-70% more expensive. To reach a satisfied fixed Cobalt price like that of 2022, Zaire would need to increase exports on Cobalt ingredients some 30%, whilst maintaining neutral or negative tariffs on Chinese imports of those ingredients.

    _
The reality is, China, the broader developed world, and even Zaire suffer consequences from the nationalization of mineral resources. While Zaire may overcome the production drop in several years time, China will continue to be affected.

| GAME CHANGE IN IRANIAN POLITICS? |

October, 2023

| The past months have been rather eventful within Iranian politics, with the situation becoming very interesting. After their fifth leadership contest, the Liberation and Freedom Movement had officially collapsed on 18th of October, after the inability to unite around the new leader, continuous strains within and the catastrophic results in polls since April. According to the newest poll, LFM had the support of around 0.2%, the lowest it had ever recorded. The once ruling party of Iran is now officially dissolved, and many members have left to Left United, People's Voice Alliance and Iranian Rose Movement. Created in 1968, LFM was always the ethnic party, representing the vast ethnic minorities of Iran, but after the downfall of Shamira Nassfer, inability to unite and the shift of Left United towards being an ethnic party, LFM was bound to collapse.

In the meantime, since the Monarchical Elections in March, Islamic Democrats and the Zoroastrian Centre had seen a major increase in the polls. Many attributed it to the fact that the Empress vs Reza campaign reignited the long sleeping religious and ethnic differences of the country. Zoroastrian Centre and Islamic Democrats peaked in popularity in August, with ZC reaching 13.1% in polls and ID 11.5%. However, since the apperance of the People's Voice Alliance and Purity and Light Movement the situation has began to change and the trend has shifted. Many attribute the decline in poll numbers for Zoroastrian Centre, which in October peaked at 9.2%, to the formation and growth of PLM. Purity and Light Movement is led by Reza Pahlavi and his vision of Iran is far more reaching than just Zoroastrian Democracy, with PLM fighting for a Zoroastrian Theocracy.
The decline for Islamic Democrats, that peaked at 8.6% in October, is attributed to the formation of People's Voice Alliance and the growth of the Arab Youth Organisation. PVA led by Ashref Fesri is growing amongst the working classes, but also around marginalised groups like Muslims. Whilst ID offers Islamic Democracy, PVA offers Socialistic Democracy without a major reliance on faith. In addition, the Arab Youth Organisation has began to grow in popularity amongst not only Persian Gulf States but also in Khuzestan, for the first time in history, giving them a 1.2% in polls in October.

Alongside of that, Left United has just had it's leadership contest which resulted in the former Prime Minister, Hesiana Leira becoming the leader again. Mrs Leira is remembered warmly amongst the people, with her ratings at around 40%. Leira is credited with the formation of MECO in 2016, expansion of the Welfare System and better protection of ethnic rights. Many suggest that Left United needs Leira right now, as since February LU has been falling in ratings, with currently being at 20.2%. Many experts point out that Left United has shifted in Iranian politics, from strict left-wing to a centre-left ethnic representation party and Leira might prove to be the person that brings Left United back into the light.

Iranian Unification Movement, led by Prime Minister Nouri, has also found itself in trouble. Winning the elections with 48.6% of votes, in October IUM has scored 37.5% in polls. The IUM has been ruling for nearly a year, but the polls are suggesting that Nouri's actions are not as popular as thought. The rise of ZC in polls and the creation of PLM has also contributed to the steady decline in support. Many experts predict that IUM might continue to see a decline in support as currently Nouri ranks at all time low popularity, with 23% in comparison to 56% in December of 2022.

The People's Voice Alliance had it's first convention in Mashhad in early August. During the convention, Ashref Fesri made a clear set out of what PVA stands for and what she wants to bring into Iranian politics and the international sphere. Her convention had a direct influence on PVA's results in the most recent poll, where they gained 11.2%. The Purity and Light Movement is said to have their convention in mid October.

[ Ashref Fesri, Leader of People's Voice Alliance ]: "It is time for a change for Iran! It is time for a change for the Middle East, Asia and the world! My mother had a dream, a vision to transform this country from top to bottom, make it a paradise for the working classes, for the masses. That goal has been tarnished by all the previous governments, by the establishment! They have forgotten where their duty lies, where their responsibility and obligations lie! They have forgotten about us, about the people! Focused on their political games, on their scandals and issues, they have forgotten about who we are, who they represent and who they serve!

We must take the shackles off guilt and capitalism off, we must not give into the rise of nationalism, religiousness and conservatism. We must not allow ourselves to be continually manipulated, used and abused! I say enough! I say that we take action into our own hands. No more sugar coating. No more parades of victory, no more lies and deceit when we can all see what's going on! It's time to rise up and above! Time to create a country that we all want to live in, a country that is fair for all, that is rich for all and that at core stands on principle and not opportunism.

There is a storm coming, and we're that storm sisters and brothers. We're that storm that will sweep the country away, the old elites! We are the storm that will sweep the Middle East from dictators, monsters and hooligans, from religious extremists and nationalists! We are the storm that will change not only Iran, but the world we live in! We are the storm that is bound to bring change! We are the storm!"

★ ZAIRE AND CHINA FINALIZE BILATERAL AGREEMENT! ★
    October 2023

The Bantu People's Republik of Zaire and People's Republic of China have finalized an agreement that works to maintain mineral resource mining in Zaire and provide for Chinese investments into the country. The agreement is extremely important in maintaining the order of the global Cobalt supply chain and averting supply woes, and is key in assuring the economic stability and prosperity of Zaire.

        ZAIRE:
        - Gains 51% ownership of Chinese owned mines and their operations within the Bantu People's Republik of Zaire
        - Exempts the People's Republic of China from the 15% Cobalt and Coltan export tariff
        - Promotes the further opening of Zairean markets and industries to China
        CHINA:
        - Orders Chinese companies to pledge the repurpose-ment of 50-52% of profits from Chinese owned mines within Zaire to the Bantu People's Republik of Zaire for reinvestment among Zairean industries
        - Pledges the sale of arms from China to Zaire

      Remarks:

PRESIDENT NGUESSO, Bantu People's Republik of Zaire — “From the bottom of my heart, I am thankful that the Bantu People's Republik of Zaire and the People's Republic of China have been able to come together in consensus and agreed upon terms to ensure that essential economic and industrial activities do not come to a screeching halt. Zaire and China do indeed possess a storied friendship and with the new terms agreed upon, I am very confident to say that Zaire is surely becoming a central component to the future of developing markets, global economic stability, and Afrikan enhancement.”

PREMIER LIU HE, People's Republic of China — “Zaire's mission is one that China shares; Peaceful, transparent, cooperative and common development of our peoples . . . We aim to foster, over time, a new development of significant prosperity in the world, and will always be committed to that goal. Or friendship with Zaire is a proper step for both our countries and our peoples, and for the future success of the African continent as one.”

HIGH CHANCELLOR ANETTA KOMARUDIN LAUNCHES AGRICULTURAL MODERNIZATION AND MECHANIZATION PROGRAM TO COMBAT GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSIONS

In an effort to unite the nation as anti-government protests finally start stagnating, High Chancellor Anetta Komarudin launched the National Agricultural Modernization and Mechanization Program (NAMP) to drastically reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The program was launched as part of the first phase of the government's new environmental protection initiative, spearheaded by the National Environmental Protection Act, which is currently in the process of approval in Parliament. The new program allocates $200 million for the modernization and mechanization of farms all over the country. Most major farming and agricultural corporations have agreed to the program, pledging their compliance to the initiative. NAMP is divided into five phases: Initiation, Cutdown, Replacement, and Recovery. Phase 1: Initiation, will begin the process of protecting the environment by reducing emissions from rice farms, which produce up to 40% of methane emissions in the environment. Agricultural vehicles such as tractors, transport vehicles, etc. will be replaced by environment-friendly versions of themselves. The tried and tested method of watering or sprinkling the entire farm at the same time will be prohibited because of its contributions to methane emissions. This method will then be replaced by 'region spraying', which consists of sensors in the ground monitoring the water, moisture, and hydration levels of nearby plants in a 'region'. If a region is dehydrated or has less moisture than neighboring regions, only that specific region will be watered. Robotic drones will also be used to monitor crops, animals, and their growth. Phase 2: Cutdown, plans to rapidly cutdown on methane and greenhouse gas emissions by enforcing the things implemented by Phase 1. Phase 3: Replacement, will continue the mechanization of farming and agricultural activities, to support farmers who have to pay workers. The subordinating farm workers will be placed in charge of robotic vehicles which will conduct the work previously done by humans. Phase 4: Recovery, will be overseen by the National Environmental Protection Committee, and will consist of further implementation of the previous Phases. In the Chancellor's words, 'although the program will relieve possibly tens of thousands from work, we believe that progressing into robotic technologies for agriculture is vital for the continuation of our protection of the environment'.

PEACEKEEPER CORPS DETAIN ANTI-GOVERNMENT ACTIVISTS FOR SUPPORTING THE ISF, SPARKING MAJOR PROTESTS AND DEMONSTRATIONS

At a peaceful anti-government demonstration in Jakarta earlier in the week, Peacekeeper officers detained 3 anti-government activists for supposedly supporting and assisting the ISF. Amidst a protesting and rioting crowd, the three activists were escorted through the crowd and into a Peacekeeper vehicle, where they were transported to the National Police Headquarters to be detained. The Peacekeeper Corps Spokesperson said yesterday, 'the three anti-government activists have been apprehended for aiding and abetting terrorists who aim to dismantle the current society. All three will be detained until their innocence can be proven or disproven'. The High Chancellor, Anetta Komarudin, refused to comment on the issue, further sparking controversy. The three activists, two men and a woman, have a history of opposing Komarudin's nationalistic tendencies and ideals, and were strong supporters of the Jansen and Maharani administrations. The issue has sparked widespread demonstrations calling for their release, with sporadic reports of riots which killed Peacekeeper officers. As the demonstrations continue to flare across the nation, Vice Chancellor Joko Widodo is reportedly preparing to ask the High Chancellor to consider negotiations with human rights lawyers to organize a compromise. An unnamed human rights lawyer is reportedly preparing to lead the protestors' negotiation team. The Vice Chancellor, in an act of defiance, has also prohibited the use of lethal arms on protestors. The High Chancellor, who had the power to overturn the order, refused to do so in fear of falling into further controversy. The National Parliament is also well into debating the prohibition of arrest without warrant, but the bill continues to trudge slowly through a swamp of arguments, negotiations and filibustering. The three anti-government activists will be detained until a trial will be held or until they be released.

THE WAR AGAINST THE JI AND ISF PART 3

Abu Bakar slowly gets out of his chair to peak at the city outside of his window, he sees a truck loaded with terrorist soldiers driving down a street, he sees wartorn buildings in ruins it looks as though he has a moment of remorse but it doesn't last long as he turns around to see the barrel of a gun pointed at his forehead. The man holding the gun is his brother Nawaar bin Ziyaad, without hesitation he pulls the trigger and Abu Bakar falls through the window plummiting several stories untill hitting the ground below with a thud. Nawaar bin Ziyaad looks to behind him to see the general, Nawaar smiles and so does the general.
Nawaar bin Ziyaad: It is done... that old swine knew nothing of leading a revolt, now it is my turn to lead the revolution as Sultan of Malacca
General Labeeb bin Abdul Lateef: Yes my liege, it had to be done, now what will be your first command as Sultan?
Nawaar bun Ziyaad: The IPDECF must be stopped.

CENTRAL MOUNTAINS 9 PM The commanding officer of the Malayan army has gotten new orders from the Acting prime minister, the army must immedietly return to Malacca. He stands up and shouts the orders to his troops, as they walk through miles of Jungle they start to realise that many of them are not going to make it, their rations are running low and diesese is spreading like wild fire through the exhausted troops, only about two thousand troops remain but that number is steadily declining. They have walked for hours now not seeing any sign of civilization, suddenly one of the soldiers hears a noise coming from a nearby bush, he slowly approaches with his gun raised, as he pushes the leaves out of the way he sees a little boy around eight years old, he is huddled up against a rock crying, the soldier drops his gun and gives the boy the last of his rations.
Soldier: Hey... it's going to be okay, don't worry we'll win, can you tell me why you're here?
Boy: *Sobs* My family, my sisters, my parents, my village *sobs* all dead... the bad guys came to my village. I ran to hide, they were shooting at my me and my family.
Soldier: Oh god... you can come with us if you want, we'll help you
Boy: No, i'm not leaving my village, the bad guys are still there *sniffle*, just down the river, can you help me get my village back?
      Soldier: Of course

The soldier gets back up and leaves the boy, he approaches the officer and tells him about the terrorists just down the river. As they slowly walk through the thick bushes and trees they start to smell smoke and hear gunshots. Through the trees they see the village the boy was talking about and he was right, the terrorists were still here. They seem to be unprepared. The officer looks at his soldiers then gives them the go ahead to start shooting. Right away several terrorist are killed, the ones that weren't killed right away hide behind some burning buildings but it doesn't offer much protection, the Malayan troops charge into the village destroying the remainder of the terrorist army. They search the village for any survivors, one of the soldiers then suggests that they could use the cars for faster transportation to Malacca.

There are now occuring major mutenies among the ISF and JI army as the new Leader Nawaar Bin Ziyaad tries to assert his leadership, many officers and soldiers are executed and the city of Kuala Dungun is burned to the ground. However his routhless tacticts have worked and the Army now has more respect and loyalty towards him. Nawaar Bin Ziyaad has ordered the army to split into to smaller armies, one of them has been deployed against the Thai border and another against the Malayan border. The ISF and JI know that if they don't act now and quickly IPDECF will crush them. The second army stationed at the Thai border has gotten orders to invade and capture the rest of the peninsula.

THAI BORDER 4 AM The terrorist troops quitly approach the Thai camp, the sleeping Thai soldiers having no idea what's to come, suddenly a terrorist accidentaly steps on a twig causing the Thai camp to wake up, the terrorists begin firing their gun at the confused soldiers whom rush to grab their weapons to no avail, a small band of thai troops managed to grab some weapons and begun shooting at the terrorists, killing a couple of soldier and leaving the terrorist officer wounded, however the supperior terrorist numbers overwhelmed the brave thai soldiers and the camp was captured. However a large portion of the Thai soldiers and the leader of the camp managed to escape the attack fleeing into the surrounding jungle. The terrorist army continued the campaign pushing deeper into the peninsula eventually reaching the border to Pattani.

The other Terrorist army stationed at the Malayan border has gotten orders to advance into Malaya with the goal being to take Malacca. Finding initial success the terrorist troops managed to capture the surrounding countryside with ease. After a few hours the terrorist forces reached Malacca to find the entire Malayan army stationed there ready for a battle. This time the Malayan army wouldn't be the ones fleeing.

MALACCA 12 AM The terrorist forces begin to reorganize their troops around the city, they have around 3 thousand men while the Malayan army has around 5 thousand stationed in Malacca. The terrorist soldier anxiously await their orders, it is a warm day and the sky is clear, the heat from the sun is almost unbearable in the thick armor that they are wearing, suddenly they are given the go ahead and begin to fire at the Malayan troops, finding little success in their attack the terrorist start to fall back and the Malayans begin to push. The front line wobbles back and forth as the two sides experience heavy losses, eventually the terrorist general is killed by a bullet to the head and the terrorist forces begin to fall back further and further ultimately retreating. Both sides had heavy losses but the clear winner was the Malayan army whom had successfully defended Mallacca and repelled the Terrorists, this would by them enough time to gather the forces from the IPDECF.

      The Plot

It had been about 12 years since the fall of Mubarak, the Arab Spring. The very revolution that was supposed to bring change, freedom, and democracy. And ironically, when democracy did come, it came under the Islamists and Morsi, who were protested against, and couped by Sisi. Now once again, the power is in the hands of the military and authoritarianism. Tensions had been rising up with the completion of the Memphis, as this solidified Sisi's iron grip, as he and the elites were safe in the new capital, with utmost luxury at that. However, the last cabinet shuffle seemed to be the last straw, with now a Coptic in charge of the military, and Zaki removed from his post. Today, the leaders of the opposition will meet to decide Sisi's fate. It consists of the leader of the fragments of the Muslim Brotherhood, the former head of defense Mohammed Zaki, and the largest political party leader.

        القاهرة | Cairo
        Residence of Mohammed Zaki

        | Here, in Mohammed Zaki's house, the leaders of organizations and groups who all opposed Sisi, would unite in one united front against him.|

      | Mohammed Zaki (Former Defense Minister) | "Hello, and welcome. Now, I think we all know why we are here, and that is to discuss Sisi and his regime, and what we should do with it. Before we begin, would you all want some refreshments and drinks?"

        | The men would settle down and each order some water or tea from the maid, and suddenly a figure would emerge and come into the room, to the shock of everyone but Zaki, with El-Oraby spitting out his water in surprise. |

      | Gehad El-Haddad (Leader of Fragmented Muslim Brotherhood) | "Wh-Why HE here?"

      | Mohammed El-Oraby (Leader of Free Egyptians Party) | "No. I will not accept help from this traitor, how can we even trust him?

      | Mahmoud El-Sisi (Son of Sisi) | "Not the welcome I had imagined but I understand. Let me explain why I am here."

        | The men would sit up, attentive as ever, to quench their curiousity. |

      | Mahmoud El-Sisi (Son of Sisi) | "My father, as you all know, I believe has not done a good job in governing Egypt, he is too aggressive in his policy. Even his generals sometimes tell him to calm down, and on top of that he got us bombed by the Russians AND failed in Morocco."

        | El-Haddad would scoff. |

      | Gehad El-Haddad (Leader of Fragmented Muslim Brotherhood) | "Is it that, or that you got sidelined because of the money laundering scandal..."

        | Mahmoud's face would turn red in rage. |

      | Mahmoud El-Sisi (Son of Sisi) | "Listen you... you Islamist scum. You only got freed through your corruption and connections, and if it were up to me you would be shot by now."

      | Mohammed Zaki | "Woah calm down here..."

        | He would be cut off. |

      | Gehad El-Haddad (Leader of Fragmented Muslim Brotherhood) | "I think there's no point in us meeting, all of us differ too much, even to unite against Sisi."

      | Mohammed El-Oraby (Leader of Free Egyptians Party) | "What about we just meet again tomorrow, same time same place. I think we all need to think about this."

        | The rest of the men would nod as Zaki sighed.|

      | Mohammed Zaki | "Fine. I expect you all to be here tomorrow, and have a good rest of your day."

        | They would each thank Zaki for his hospitality and leave, with Mahmoud el-Sisi staying behind.|

[quote=deccea;43446260]THE WAR AGAINST THE JI AND ISF PART 3

3-Star General Prime Niyongabo Announces Ending of Tanzania-Bayern kahla Security Agreements; Tanzania to Terminate German military presence in Tanzania Amid Closing Germany's Base & Supply Lines to its Maintenance & Operations

Field Marshal & Chairman of Tanzanian Self-Defense Force General Prime Niyongabo has officially announced the termination of any and all security agreements between Tanzania and Bayern kahla. In his announcement, General Prime Niyongabo had the following statement to give:

With the continual close partnership between Dodoma and Kinshasa, Tanzania has found it crucial and responsible that we move away from our security arrangements with Germany while increasing our security and military partnerships and cooperation with the Bantu People's Republik of Zaire. Tanzania and our people have come to the realization that our prosperity and development, especially pertaining to defense and national security, can be guaranteed sufficiently through partnerships with our continental brother and sisters as well as through the strength and willpower of ourselves. With this, Tanzania is terminating Germany's usage and access to their previously approved installation as it is no longer necessary nor required. We hope that the Germans, in confidence, will accept the wishes of Tanzania and return to Europe as their mission is no longer needed here.

With General Prime Niyongabo's statement, Tanzania has moved toward proper termination, sending said notification to Berlin, and has begun to close lines of supply for maintenance and operations.

Chaos at the Palace as King Daeshim Abdicates and Prince Jung-hee Renounces His Titles

          | King Daeshim has announced his abdication from the Phoenix Throne, by-passing standard constitutional procedures, the sudden and unexpected announcement was coupled with his older brothers', Yi Jung-hee, announcement to renounce all his Korean Royal titles, and become purely a private common citizen. The throne has left briefly unoccupied until the Palace later confirmed that Crown Prince Yi Jin had ascended to the throne, the former King's older brother. |

          | No official reason has been given for the sudden an unexpected series of events that has seen Korea see a King abdicate from the throne, however the explaination behind Jung-hee's decision to renounce his royal titles become was quickly realised as he announced the creation of a new political party at a press conference in Seoul, Spring, will be headed up by Jung-hee as a progressive, anti-imperialist, and pro-federal political party. Jung-hee said he hoped to see the abolishion of the Korean monarchy and the creation of a federal republic. The party will be using the next two and a half years to develop it's platform further, with no elections to the National Assembly around the corner it hopes to deal damage at the regional and local levels. |

          | The announcement of a republican party headed up by a former royal shocked most Korean's, however it didn't come as a surprise to many within the upper circles as Jung-hee's anti-monarchy sentiments were widely known and had grown stronger over the years. Many said that his brothers abdication probably helped push him to publicly making his own party as the two were always close. Newly crown Taewang Jin, who is currently not taking up a temple name, has yet to make any comment on the matter. The events over the last few weeks have kept many in Korea on the edge of their seats, it is unknown what will happen next. |

      THE CHANCELLERY

      OBERKOMMANDO DER LUFTWAFFE

      OFFICE OF THE BASE FULDA-TANZANIA

      General Prime Niyongabo,

From letter received in our base, we have been notified of the termination of the security agreement of the 12th july 2003 between the Federal Republic of Germany and the Republic of Tanzania.

The German Government, the Chancellor, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the OBK Luftwaffe, takes notice of this decision.

General Markus Löcher, commanding officer of the Luftwaffe Squadron 231 and 99, of which is attached the Afrika-Tanzania Brigade 25, has notified its forces to redeploy in Tarfaya for the time being. General Löcher has estimated that the necessary arrangements should take approximately three to four months including the complete dismantling of base facilities (dorms, hangars, refueling stations, pipelines, electrical systems, radars etc.) and the ending of several contracts made with Tanzanian companies for fuel, cleaning, food, water, electricity and gas and the rent of the 2km2 base.

The Bundeswehr Administrative Military Tribunal of Tanzania for crimes or misdemeanors committed by German forces on their stay reported in 20 years only 3 cases of misdemeanor and no crime, displaying excellent and exemplary discipline of our forces.

The base executed missions of surveillance and training with Tanzanian air force, and training of the Afrika-Tanzania Brigade by Tanzanian forces of which they have learned much to be a model of excellency.

A ceremony of transition is expected for the 31st january 2024 with invitation of Tanzanian partners that have been with us without fail for nearly 20 years. The flag of Germany will be lowered at midnight 31st with the anthems of Germany first and german marches, and then the anthem of Tanzania on February 1st 2024.

We note the excellence of our relations and the historical bond between Germany and Tanzania dating for more than 100 years. Please receive our deepest consideration for the trust Tanzania placed to the Federal Republic that would always be ready to defend its ally.

      Diplomatically and militarily yours,

      THE CHANCELLOR, Greta Scheffner
      FOREIGN MINISTER, Angela Merkel
      AMBASSADOR OF GERMANY, Viviane Schönfeld

      Meeting Again

        القاهرة | Cairo
        Residence of Mr. Mohammed Zaki

        | The first meeting had gone sour, with the appearance of Mahmoud el-Sisi. Opinions on him were diverse, with Zaki viewing him as integral to future plans, el-Oraby giving him a chance, and el-Haddad falling out with him almost immediately. But today, Zaki hoped to solve these issues and get on to the planning.

        | Mohammed Zaki (Former Defense Minister)| "Hello gentlemen. Today we are here to move on past our differences, and get on to the planning."

          | The same men as yesterday would be sitting in chairs around a round, glass table, and nod.|

        | Mohammed Zaki (Former Defense Minister)| "So we need to get an idea of what is the best course of action to remove Sisi as fast and efficient as possible. Any ideas?"

        |Gehad El-Haddad (Leader of Fragmented Muslim Brotherhood)| "I say we start an armed uprising. You still have influence over the army and such, and I have connections with the rest of the Muslim Brotherhood. Together, we can crush Sisi."

          | Mahmoud would roll his eyes. |

        | Mahmoud El-Sisi (Son of Sisi) | "There goes the idiot again... You fool. My father still has most of the army under control and under his influence. I say the course of action is to start protests...

          | El-Oraby would nod in agreement. |

        | Gehad El-Haddad (Leader of Fragmented Muslim Brotherhood)| "We tried this before, and it did not work. Plus, Sisi will shoot any Islamists on sight, with no regret or repercussions. Force must be met with force."

        | Mohammed Zaki (Former Defense Minister)| "I'm with Mahmoud on this one. An armed uprising will only spoil our names, and on top of that cause even more damage to Egypt, with Sisi still coming out on top."

        | Gehad El-Haddad (Leader of Fragmented Muslim Brotherhood)| "But..."

        | Mahmoud El-Sisi (Son of Sisi) | "There is no buts you moron. We all accept this but you.

          | El-Haddad's face would puff up.|

        | Gehad El-Haddad (Leader of Fragmented Muslim Brotherhood)| "You know what? I don't want anything to do with this failed plot. You and that buffoon Mahmoud can try and fail on your own."

          | He would get up and leave, and Mahmoud would take out his phone. |

        | Mahmoud El-Sisi (Son of Sisi) | "Should I do it?"

          | Zaki would nod, with El-Oraby looking confused as ever.|

          | Mahmoud would start a call.|

        | Mahmoud El-Sisi (Son of Sisi) | "Uh... yes, go ahead. I... yeah, do it.... You need me there?... Aight I'll be there in a few."

          | Mahmoud would walk out the door to attend to something, leaving only el-Oraby and Zaki. |

        | Mohammed El-Oraby (Leader of Free Egyptians Party)| "Zaki. I need you to promise, that the power will go to the people if we succeed."

          | Zaki would look at his watch. |

        | Mohammed El-Oraby (Leader of Free Egyptians Party)| "You may think you are a new Nasser, exactly how Sisi did. I know. But if you go down this route, I promise that you will just become another Sisi."

          | With that, he would walk out leaving just Zaki. |

          | Later that day, around 10pm. El-Oraby's words stuck out to him.|

        | Mohammed Zaki (Former Defense Minister)| "Am I really just another Sisi...? Eh just exaggeration... maybe."

          | He would turn on the news on the TV.|

        | News Reporter "Breaking News. El-Haddad, the head of the remains of the Muslim Brotherhood, who was recently freed, was found dead in a dark alley according to sources. He was found with multiple bulletholes in the back of his head..."

          | Zaki would turn it off, and put his arms back and relax. Another unproductive day. Was he really just another Sisi...|

On the subject of: Zaire and China

          Your Excellency,

I am truly captivated by the impressive spirit of your strong country. You and the people of Zaire consistently demonstrate the strong will to elevate all of Zaire's population out of poverty, to develop the conditions of living among all, and to achieve common prosperity as the heart of a strong and determined African continent. It is an extraordinary journey Zaire has set out on.

Through the creation of the Collective Defense Alliance of Afrika, the open doctrine of win-win cooperation with all peaceful countries, the commitment towards development, and the firm action to ensure the integrity of Zairean resources remain first for the people of Zaire, you and your country are a beacon of, and an example for the African continent.

At the core of Zaire's journey are the same goals China continues to pursue. We are committed to peaceful and cooperative common development of all peoples and to win-win cooperation that brings prosperity to all.

China will always devote itself to support your country and the African continent in its journey to common prosperity. The areas in which we must continue to cooperate are vast. For instance, we must improve the mechanisms in which African sovereignty is respected, through cooperation in the areas of continental defense and solidarity, a subject which the CDAA and China have much more to contribute towards. We must continue to promote common respect of African resources and the peoples to whom they should first belong to, through transparent and cooperative practices. We must continue to further the development of all peoples, via investment towards Zairean industries across your extensive country.

I assure you, China will continue to support Zaire and the African continent, to the extents and times you are open to pursue.

NOTE FROM EXECUTIVE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT OF ZAIRE
FROM: Denis Sassou N'Guesso, President of the Bantu People's Republic of Zaire
SUBJECT: Formation of the Consensus for the Protection and Security of Sub-Sahara Afrika and Its Inhabitants

Paramount Leader of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping,

I hope that this letter finds you well. May God continue to bless the People's Republic of China, the Chinese people, and your governance. I write this letter in response to your outreach, both as a friend but as the de jure and de facto President of the Bantu People's Republik of Zaire. It is undeniable and an established reality that Zaire and China possesses a deep respect, understanding, and historical partnership that has brought much bountiful glory and development to our peoples. Just as the China seeks to uplift its people from poverty and into an era of modernity, my administration seeks to do the same and is willing to go to any and all odds and take as many risks needed to ensure that the people of Zaire are secure and able to seek affluence in confidence and prosperity in moderation.

On the behalf of the people of the Bantu People's Republik of Zaire, I am thankful and honored to have your support as Zaire is on course to promote peace, stability, and security for the Afrikan continent. As I am only one voice of the CDAA, I am confident that through extensive discussions with CDAA membership, a Sino-CDAA cooperation is surely possible. As I have always eluded to, the resources of Afrika can no longer be exploited at the detriment of the Afrikan worker and the regression of the modern Afrikan State. It is with this understanding and core tenet of my political ideology that I am pleased and truly gracious that Beijing understands this, recognizes this, and is willing to work with this concept in mind. As I am confident that Zaire has a friend in Beijing, I am also confident that ensure Beijing that it has a friend in Kinshasa.

It must be the central priority of governance to place the security and enhancement of one's people at the center of government policy and agenda. This is what Zaire has done since the beginning of my administration and from observing the policies of your administration, it appears to be the same foundation of China's policies for its people. This, Zaire can and will respect. To continue the fostering of friendship, transparency is essential, communication is vital, understanding is a requirement, and respect is priority.

      God Bless.

      Very Respectfully,

        Denis Sassou N'Guesso

Federal Forces Advance, Mahdi Army Mutinies

      October
As August ended, the rebellion turned a corner. While the PMF was doomed from the beginning, it had taken time to organize the force Baghdad wanted to decisively crush Hamoudi’s rebellion. The 1st Army, with a strength of 85,000 men, had finally coalesced and began operations in earnest. Kuwaiti forces also made progress in the southwestern deserts. A serious change also occurred in PMF territory that could alter the course of the rebellion.
      ___________________

      The Battle of Al-Diwaniyah
By the end of august the 1st Army had fully mobilized and began operations. Its force was deployed along the entire northern border and split into two major elements: III Corp and IV Corp. III Corp, with 35,000 men, would back up the 2nd Armored Division on their push into Al-Diwaniyah. The combined force would be 55,000 men, facing an estimated 20,000 PMF in and around the city.

The battle proceeded similarly to Najaf on a smaller scale. But this time, a more substantial defense was prepared outside of the city. PMF hidden along the main roads harassed troops columns. Spotters on the city's outskirts coordinated fire for rockets and mortars. Trenches and fix holes were littered around the city's perimeter, slowing down the advance. Most of the first day was spent rooting out these defenses, peppering them with artillery and tank fire before troops moved in. On the morning of the second day, armored columns pushed along the city's main roads, giving protective fire while mechanized and motorized infantry moved in. Infantry cleared the city street to street and vicious firefights endured for two days. But just as in Najaf, the PMF were simply outmatched. Exhausted and worn by the Arab and Iranian air campaigns, an increasing amount of rebels were willing to surrender. Within three days, Al-Diwaniyah was secure. By that time, III Corp had fanned out and connected with Kuwaiti troops to the south. They were now poised to push on to Samawa.

Federal forces announced 193 killed and 388 injured. This includes 15 IFVs and APC disabled or destroyed, 2 tanks destroyed and 3 disabled and one F-16 shot down. They took 672 prisoners and claimed to have killed 2,405 PMF.
      ________________

IV Corp Advances As Far As Shatrah

With III Corp sweeping across the south, Baghdad was making an ambitious push with IV corp. With PMF forces distracted by sweeping loses further west, IV Corp has begun a massive offensive centered around Highway 7 that leads all the way to Nasiriyah. With extensive air support from the Arab National Air Force and Iran, 45,000 burned their way south. Intense engagements were fought at Qalat Sukkar, Rifai, and Al-Neser. Federal forces capitalised on their increased mechanization and mobility to outpace PMF forces, taking a claimed 2,000 prisoners.

The largest battle came at Shatrah, a town with 15,000 PMF defenders. The Federal conviction that advances in the west had drawn away much PMF strength proved right. The city fell in less than a day, with several PMF units retreating as soon as the Federal assault began. Over 3,000 prisoners were taken but only 500 PMF were killed. Shatrah was retaken and Nasiriyah was officially threatened.

IV Corp reported 206 dead for the entire offensive, including 427 casualties, and 11 armored vehicles lost or disabled.

      ________________

Mahdi Army Mutinies, al-Sadr Joins Federal Fight

To the west, in the PMF territory commanded by the Mahdi Army of Muqtada al-Sadr, a major development has occurred. Firstly, at the beginning of the rebellion, Sadr opted to take Federal troops prisoner rather than execute them like other PMF leaders and commanders. When he had his opportunity to advance on Kut while it was lightly defended, he declined to launch an offensive. Sadr held his forces largely in reserve until first contact with Federal troops, at which point he retreated and requested lines of communication with Baghdad. Sadr bargained with his prisoners and his influence, making an agreement that would shift the course of the rebellion.

Now, his forces have taken a drastic new stance. Exerting his religious and political influence, Sadr has betrayed the PMF and declared cooperation with the PMF to be heresy. Federal forces have been given access to the area under the control of the Mahdi Army, and previous government officials have been released and returned to power. Mahdi Army forces will assist Baghdad in stopping Hamoudi, after which they have agreed to disarm. Military prisoners have been released, and the Mahdi Army has essentially returned to its place under the Interior Ministry.

al-Sadr has effectively guaranteed his place in the post-PMF Arab States. His rejection and ultimately quite limited support for the rebellion has legitimized religious and traditionalist support for the new government as well as won him new supporters in Baghdad and Khalilist circles. Though he sacrifices the Mahdi Army as a form of direct power, his association with the right side of the Hiri Rebellion won't soon be forgotten, for better or for worse.

          The third Malayan emergency.

      ________________

After powerful Terrorist groups such as the Islamic Salvation Front and Jemaah Islamaiyah went on the offensive and captured most of the country in under 5 months, an IPDC intervention was planned, the first nation to start planning of an intervention was Bangladesh but due to terrorist attacks of its own and the assassination of the Prime Minister, originally the plan was to hold elections in September but elections have been delayed to November 29th. The Bangladeshi plan was to send the 101st infantry brigade consisting of 3,000 men but also supported by an additional 15x Harimau medium tanks and 35x Turkish Otokar Cobra IIs via Bangladesh's C-130s and ships while fellow IPDC governments of Thailand and Indonesia launched their own interventions as fast as possible due to the urgency of the situation in Malaya but for some reason the Thai and Indonesian governments held off on invasion for a long time allowing the terrorist coalition of the Islamic Salvation Front and Jemaah Islamaiyah to take more land from the Malay government, the Bangladeshi intervention force has just arrived in the last remaining stronghold of Selangor commanded by the 57 year old Brigadier General Habibul Alam while the Bangladeshi government urges the Malay and Indonesian government to launch an offensive against the terrorists who have advanced way too much by now and are most likely much more disorganized.
