I agree. And I like Franklin quite a bit. I especially agree with him on the point that the turkey should have been the US national bird. But I do think giving up some liberties for safety has warrant in some situations. Like for instance, an invasion, or even worse.. an apocalypse. But generally I am for a nice balance between security and liberty. It should also be said that there is a distinction between liberty and freedom. Liberties are something you earn. Whilst freedom is with man wherever they are, born in their spirits. Unless they are enslaved of course. But in that instance there freedom is stolen from them, but they can gain it back with vigilance.
