Most if not all civilisations run around issues like Population and Demographics, Division of Labour, Politics and Government, Customs and Traditions, Mating Habits & Rituals.
A professor I had in college, as a Social Sciences major, used to say studying Anthropology is learning what people do in the kitchen and in bed.
Perhaps you could consider some of these topics and let your imagination carry you from there.
