All you need is that 3 nations on the map sponsor you, aka that they support adding you to the map. Nations such as Santa Thereza, Aurea, Rio Cana and our newly added nation on the map Caral-Supe might be willing to support you! So ask them or other ones for some support if you'd like!

Not quite. Having 3 sponsors is just one of the requirements. Players wanting to join the map also have to have factbooks giving more information on their countries, and should also be long term contributors to the region and the RMB before they ask to join.

Whoops, I forgot about those ones too. Calarei these are also necessary!

How and when does the WA Delegate election happen?

The Region of South-America

Ilha Solteira wrote:How and when does the WA Delegate election happen?

At this time, there WA Delegate is not an ‘official’ position in South America. There aren’t elections. The WA Delegate changes periodically and it has no bearing on South America’s governance.

The Socialism of Santa Thereza

Santa Thereza regrettably announces a regional boycott and seize in diplomatic relations, following a complete discrepancy in social views, targetted political silencing and lack of support.

Further information and reporting is available in the 3rd SulAmérican Special Print, the longest-running in-character outlet of the past decade.

We step-back with our heads high as the all-time most voted WA delegate, with strong ties with new nation arrivals. What remains 'official' is our constant progress in the past 5 years, which fell short to unwavering old members and fear of progress.

I'm so confused… is this in-character? Because you're conflating in-character role-play with out-of-character regional positions and governance.

To clarify: within the "South America universe" our nations exist in, there is no "WA Delegate."

Also, sorry but "all-time most voted voted WA delegate?" Where did you even get that information? Or did you make it up? I'm curious. When I was WA Delegate, for example, the lowest number of endorsements I had was 8, the highest was around 20. So at my lowest I had as many endorsements as Santa Thereza at its highest (and even so, I was not the highest endorsed WA Delegate—I think Snake South America was.)

Also "unwavering old members and fear of progress"—I'm sorry but no. South America has shown infinite willingness to restart government over and over. That is not "fear of progress." You have never actually provided any ideas on how you want South America to work. You've never proposed a constitution, etc. That's not a criticism but a challenge—show us what you got! You have ideas, share them! Some of those you have criticized for "fearing progress" did exactly that themselves, and long before you came to South America. I look forward to reading/hearing your ideas! :)

Final point "unwavering old members"—if it wasn't for those unwavering old members, there would be no South America at all. It would have been invaded, conquered and shutdown looong ago. So you critize us but you're here now because we were here then. :)

The Federal Republic of Sao-Paulo

A lot of interesting and shocking news coming on recently. With the Monarchy in Caral-Supe in transition and Santa Thereza's recent diplomatic shifts and potential tensions, I wonder how these events will continue to unfold and what are the other nations' opinions on this!

I'm actually so confused by Santa Theresa right now. Is this protest against the role play or the region? I don't get it.

Santa Thereza wrote:Santa Thereza [i]regrettably announces a regional boycott

What does this even mean? If you want to boycott the region? Leave. If I was unhappy in a region I would move to another region.

I do not understand any part of this 'meltdown' recently. Everyone says - if you want to try something new ,then try it. Instead you suggest nothing and get upset like a child. Everyone liked your ideas for sports, everyone likes your posts in the news thread. But then when it comes to changing the region or politics, you complain but don't suggest or propose different. Write a constitution already and suggest it to everyone. Or do you fear it will be rejected? (Which is understandable - my own constitutional proposal was once rejected.)

Starting to remind me of someone else from South America's history who was very similar in conduct! Always to remember: this is just a game and we are all here to have fun and enjoy ourselves! (: Love you Santa Thereza xoxo

I'm loving the new banner, it's very on-point with the theme of the region, while looking very nice as well. Thank you for this :)

Sorry! Lol but I refer to a very crazy person from a long time ago called New Grenada (but used lots of aliases) basically terrorized South America for years and years including making real threats against people.

Maybe it was extreme to refer to this lol. ST appears to be a much nicer person!

My reply to this statement is below. South America needs leaders with maturity and honesty, not people who ragequit when people disagree with them and then state outright lies. I dont want a whole argument with this or to takeover the RMB so I will post this as my last word on the matter before I get on playing the game like a normal person and the majority of those here. Peace. ✌️

Recently, Santa Thereza became the World Assembly delegate. There is no official role for that position in South America at this time (though it should be noted it was previously held simultaneously with the position "President of South America".) There was no election: Santa Thereza became delegate by accumulation of endorsements, not an explicit election. While the office has no executive functions, this is acceptable though not ideal. I highlight this because of certain accusations made below which amount to hypocrisy in the context of the above.

Santa Thereza formerly served on the region's "administration council," (it had no official name but will be referred by that term here) being three nations—South-America, Rio Cana and Santa Thereza—who had powers to regulate the borders, the Regional Message Board (RMB), and possibly other powers also.

Earlier this year, South America was invaded. The founder, South-America, acted quickly to end this invasion. Part of the response was to impose a password on the region. This, as any long term player of NationStates will be more than aware, is a tried and tested method, utilized many times before within South America and is common across NationStates in other regions. Just days after the invasion, Santa Thereza—I understand without consultation or confirmation—unilaterally removed that password, that line of defense. For this reason alone it seems, Santa Thereza was removed from the "administration council."

Since that time, Santa Thereza has become increasingly—and needlessly, in my view—hostile, unhinged and combative towards other players in the region, myself among them. Now, I have been tagged—without my consent—in some incoherent, racist dog whistle dispatch full of falsehoods and disprovable claims, seemingly designed to instigate hatred and sow discontent in South America against certain players by someone who appears to simply be sore and salty about being removed from a position of power that they demonstrated they could not be trusted in. I believe this is a tactic to try and seize power in the region, and furthermore it makes me wonder—admittedly without evidence—whether this person might have been behind the earlier invasion mentioned above. Given false accusations have been made against myself and other players of the region being "undemocratic" (despite South America having an election which elected Santa Thereza president), this is supremely ironic and hypocritical. I worry for the future of South America with Santa Thereza in it.

I have made the relevant powers in this region aware. I consider this not only unfortunate but a great shame and disgrace of a once promising player, past and possible future leader. I hope there remains a future for Santa Thereza and that the player can pull out of their tailspin.

For this reason, I hereby express:
1) no confidence in Santa Thereza as World Assembly Delegate and
2) no confidence in Santa Thereza in any position of power or authority within South America and
3) no longer recognize Santa Thereza as a role player or member of the map in South America and formally withdraw any and all sponsorship therefrom.

In pursuit of point 3 above, Amazonas—until an apology is received and worrying behavior changed immediately and permanently—will no longer engage on any level, gameplay or personal, with Santa Thereza following the publication of this dispatch.
