The Federal Republic of Amazonas

Santa Thereza wrote:Santa Thereza regrettably announces a regional boycott and seize in diplomatic relations, following a complete discrepancy in social views, targetted political silencing and lack of support.

Further information and reporting is available in the 3rd SulAmérican Special Print, the longest-running in-character outlet of the past decade.

My reply to this statement is below. South America needs leaders with maturity and honesty, not people who ragequit when people disagree with them and then state outright lies. I dont want a whole argument with this or to takeover the RMB so I will post this as my last word on the matter before I get on playing the game like a normal person and the majority of those here. Peace. ✌️

Recently, Santa Thereza became the World Assembly delegate. There is no official role for that position in South America at this time (though it should be noted it was previously held simultaneously with the position "President of South America".) There was no election: Santa Thereza became delegate by accumulation of endorsements, not an explicit election. While the office has no executive functions, this is acceptable though not ideal. I highlight this because of certain accusations made below which amount to hypocrisy in the context of the above.

Santa Thereza formerly served on the region's "administration council," (it had no official name but will be referred by that term here) being three nations—South-America, Rio Cana and Santa Thereza—who had powers to regulate the borders, the Regional Message Board (RMB), and possibly other powers also.

Earlier this year, South America was invaded. The founder, South-America, acted quickly to end this invasion. Part of the response was to impose a password on the region. This, as any long term player of NationStates will be more than aware, is a tried and tested method, utilized many times before within South America and is common across NationStates in other regions. Just days after the invasion, Santa Thereza—I understand without consultation or confirmation—unilaterally removed that password, that line of defense. For this reason alone it seems, Santa Thereza was removed from the "administration council."

Since that time, Santa Thereza has become increasingly—and needlessly, in my view—hostile, unhinged and combative towards other players in the region, myself among them. Now, I have been tagged—without my consent—in some incoherent, racist dog whistle dispatch full of falsehoods and disprovable claims, seemingly designed to instigate hatred and sow discontent in South America against certain players by someone who appears to simply be sore and salty about being removed from a position of power that they demonstrated they could not be trusted in. I believe this is a tactic to try and seize power in the region, and furthermore it makes me wonder—admittedly without evidence—whether this person might have been behind the earlier invasion mentioned above. Given false accusations have been made against myself and other players of the region being "undemocratic" (despite South America having an election which elected Santa Thereza president), this is supremely ironic and hypocritical. I worry for the future of South America with Santa Thereza in it.

I have made the relevant powers in this region aware. I consider this not only unfortunate but a great shame and disgrace of a once promising player, past and possible future leader. I hope there remains a future for Santa Thereza and that the player can pull out of their tailspin.

For this reason, I hereby express:
1) no confidence in Santa Thereza as World Assembly Delegate and
2) no confidence in Santa Thereza in any position of power or authority within South America and
3) no longer recognize Santa Thereza as a role player or member of the map in South America and formally withdraw any and all sponsorship therefrom.

In pursuit of point 3 above, Amazonas—until an apology is received and worrying behavior changed immediately and permanently—will no longer engage on any level, gameplay or personal, with Santa Thereza following the publication of this dispatch.

While there is, like said, a lack of evidence on the amazonian arguments. I believe his line of thinking is reasonable and I also express my support for the Amazonian decisions regarding the Santa Thereza situation

The Republic of Calimera II

The situation escalated quickly. Also, people started to mix RP with non-RP stuff, making everything even more unclear.

I don't know a single region that mixes RP and non-RP stuff. I know we don't but it seems some players get confused. I think maybe we should be very clear in the region guides that what happens in the region =/= what happens in the RP.

Maybe it was extreme to refer to this lol. ST appears to be a much nicer person!

Hahaha I was thinking in historical terms, like most historical figures in real South America could actually fit that description lol
