It seems fair to assume that you'd have some knowledge of French (as is your country name🦅) so you showing your ignorance to what he said in French makes absolutely no sense to react as you did.
Humour may not be universal but manners and respect are. I'd like to think it was banter but it doesn't work as a joke if no-one is 'in' on it and creates bad vibes...... 😶 Would you care to smooth things over?

Having read your reasons for your actions, I understand your kneejerk temperament better. But why not just TG him to delete the message if it posed such a threat to your surprise? He clearly wasn't to know and then insulting him by calling him 'a piece of ****' does also offer an apology.

I will telegram him and ask him to remove his posts on your RMB, that way your surprise will remain intact (but I strongly advise you to implement that disclosure rule in your region rules)

I have been getting a lot of notifications of proposals and closures while seeing this. I do not know the reason why, except my perception that other regions may find Lewisham kind of uninteresting.
