Statement from the Dragunovian Ministry of the Confederation and Foreign Affairs

The crisis in Vocryae, Jocospor is troubling. We are appalled by the sudden attack on Jocospor. Her Imperial Highness, Crown Princess Maria Louise Victoria, upon hearing the tragic news, wishes for her fellow Senators to tread carefully and hope they are safe. As for the Weltreich's current stance, His Imperial and Royal Majesty, Joseph IV, Holy Dragunovian Emperor, has given strict instructions here in the Foreign Ministry to condemn this act of naked aggression and that those nations responsible must be held accountable for causing instability in the Confederation. Although we cannot intervene militarily at this time, we are willing to extend our support in terms of supplies and equipment.

The Prime Minister, Prince Charles-Napoleon Bonaparte has called for a travel ban on West Heisen and Depackya in case their respective citizens ever cross the GATE into our world, in which it received unanimous support in the Imperial Diet. If the situation continues to grow more volatile, the Empire might be forced to intervene for the sake of restoring peace and stability to the Confederation.

In Dragunov We Trust!
God Bless Dragunovia, One and Indivisible!
Hail the Confederation!

[Whittfield's office in the Vocryae NUF office]
"What the hell is happening today, I go out for lunch, next thing I know I'm held up in my office because an army decided to waltz into town, what was the Jocospor Imperial Army doing that they let their capital be sieged... either way, none of that is important now, now we have to worry about surviving."
"Jerry (bodyguard), hand me that key over there."
Jerry:"Why sir?"
Whittfield:"I have something that will help us here."
*Hands key
* Whittfield opens the floor safe under his desk
* Whittfield pulls up a box, opens it, and it is filled with weapons and ammo
Whittfield:"During the construction I put this box from the CIG here."
"Grab whatever you think is needed."
*The 5 guards grab rifles and pistols, Whittfield grabs a pistol and puts it in his coat
Whittfield:"Contact Colonel Spamstaichsen and have him get his men into the city."
Jerry:" Yes Sir."
Whittfield:"Now we wait in this building till relief can come, the Heisen army is crawling everywhere, and Andrew, the damned fool, is using the Stormguard as a private army."
Whittfield:"Also contact Eden and ask him what the hell his army is doing here. Now I have to call the CIG command and the CAF to get some men here to push out Heisen."
(I know Heisen killed him, but IC it makes sense)

The immoral actions perpetrated by the governments of West heisen and Depackya , obligate us to ask for the repatriation of Senator Sandini to Medici in order to guarantee his safety. If a refusal was to appear, sanctions will be put in place.

"Damn it, I'll never make it to the ISB" Nikolai says. He thinks what to do next. He looks to the skylines of Viceroy, his eyes fall upon a building not far from his own.

"The Cryptonnia Building... Scott!" Nikolai cries out with joy. He crosses a street with no cars or people intruding on its ground. He runs to the front of Whittfield's Office. He pounds on the door. "Scott, it's Nikolai!".

(He waits for an answer)

"Come on Scott, open the door."

Following word of the invasion of Jocospor, His Majesty, the Emperor-King Julius was reportedly in an uproar over hearing the news. He very promptly returned to the conference room, and declared, on national television:

“The ongoing crisis on Vocryae is absolutely despicable, and I myself condemn the invaders. I guarantee these acts will not go unpunished. Cape Canavral will now see anybody who supports these invaders as enemies of our state. However, no war is to be declared at the moment, as we are currently dealing with our own. I am very thankful that Senator Leon Basset is safe in our hands at a hospital. While I wish I could try and rescue some of the senators, at the moment there is currently nothing we can do. I wish all senators currently in the hands of these invaders the best of luck. Thank you.”

No further statement was made by His Majesty. With the Confederation on rocky ground, people will surely begin to take sides now. The future of the Confederation remains incredibly uncertain now.

Glory to the Emperor!

Hail the Confederation!

We warned you this would happen. Those who allied with them are traitors to the Confederation. If any West heisen or Depackya citizen is found they will be executed. Senator Hathi will remain in vocraye. If the Shadow Emperor wants military support, they will be their within a minutes notice.

Announcement from Grand Empire

Eurasia strongly condemns the actions of West heisen and Depackya. For the Union, it was one thing to defend yourself against the Council, but this invasion is straight up treasonous and foolish. As for Borisov, we expected this from you, and we are disappointed. Senator Molotov and his guard are behind enemy lines, we do not know what is occurring in the Imperial Senate Building. However, we will warn you not to hurt a hair on the Senator’s head, or you will face the consequences.

Eurasia stands by The Shadow Cult of Jocospor, and will await orders from the Shadow Emperor. The Grand Empire shall be forever loyal to the Confederation and its leadership!

While the actions of the West Heisen and Depackya governments are unacceptable, the repressive measures the government of Deman kalan has taken on the citizens of West Heisen and Depackya are horrible. We condemn these repressive acts because citizens are not responsible for the actions of their government. For the invasion in Vocryae, our senator is secured in a secret basement under heavy security elite soldiers of the Medician Militar and waiting an extraction.

To the Confederation,

Following the recent invasion of Jocospor, the Department of Defense has declared a non-intervention order until an announcement from the Jocospite government or the Imperial Council has been made. When such a response has been issued, the order will be lifted.

We know that Senators are being kept in the Imperial Senate Building, we do not know what is occurring within. The Depackyan army is probably taking hostages. If you can contact your Senators, please do so. Tell them to run and hide.

(OOC: seriously, wait until Joco responds. We do not know what’s happening, and any more people getting involved will just cause more confusion. Condemn the actions all you want, just don’t go to war yet)

The Kapitøl

As Novikov puts down the phone, his insides turning with anxiety, his eyes dart to the door opening.

- Comrade Novikov, the procession is in five minutes from now.
- thank you, comrade.

the experience of locking an embassy with a great ally, even friend, is a worrying process. The people inside that building, uncertain of circumstance. Until given an order to return to the fatherland, or to reopen the doors, they are currently in total limbo.

“Denisovich sounded worried, almost scared.” Novikov thought to himself. “I’ve never seen Denisovich scared before.”

The Parade

The procession was perfect, as always. The lines of Daulmārkian soldiers were exact, their turns and motions in exquisite unison. The various tanks and other large vehicles all driving at symmetrical distance and speed, the TEL’s displaying the newest 12.5 kiloton nuclear ICBM’s, dubbed “satans’ children”, painted with red and gold stripes in the pattern of the fatherlands’ banner. Novikov continued his usual wave and smile, despite his heart tearing at the thought of having to use these weapons, potentially sooner than he assumed. The region’s capital was falling, sieged by a nation Novikov had seen hope in, had befriended and stood by even in times of crisis. The official statement was to remain neutral, but he knew we would be blamed, we would be associated, and targeted. The bangs of fireworks caught the great leader off guard. He snapped back into the current world and the beautiful parade. He will worry about the future when it arrives.

The Restored First Republic of Ridnez

The Imperial Senate Building, Vocryae

Andreas Bombardone was just as taken aback by the occupation of the Jocospite capital as any of the other Senators in the building, even moreso perhaps by the Depackyan air strike on the Confedereichstag. Bombardone felt the seismic rumble through the foundations of the building and heard the explosion in the distance. It was not hard to guess what had happened, and a brief inquiry with the Red Sword and Stormguard troops posted at the door to exit the chamber only confirmed Bombardone's suspicions. In spite of the stated purpose to "protect" the Imperial Senate, Bombardone perceived that he was in mortal peril. Furthermore, Bombardone perceived that this was a situation beyond his control, and the prospect of uncertainty in the decision of any outcome unnerved him greatly. It is not as if such spontaneous upheaval was ever tolerated in Ridnez, during the 20 years of order since he had ascended to power. Bombardone was in a rather unique position among the delegates to the Imperial Senate, as he, like His Majesty King Powers of The Constitutional Monarchy of New England INC, was not just the Senator for his country but also the absolute arbiter of his nation's internal affairs. The reason Bombardone chose to personally represent his country within the Senate was a matter of the Chief of State's convictions. A man of destiny makes it his business to be present wherever great events occur, as the will of a man of destiny must necessarily be a large part of the world's will. Whichever way the world turns, Bombardone felt it his obligation to the light of civilization to be there to substantially direct it; this potential expression of the human will to achieve its infinity was the very philosophical underpinning of Zendirism's ultranationalistic totalitarianism and the inspiration for the Ridnezite foreign/military policy on empire-building. Of course, others might say that Bombardone was a self-important megalomaniac tyrant, but no one said ever spoke such words in Ridnez without suffering a dire penalty for their insolence. Now it seemed as though Bombardone's need for self-affirmation as the operatic hero of the historical narrative would lead him to ignominious ruin. Bombardone received news of the harrowing escape of Jax Arcanic, the Senator and Lord Demon of The Cursed Burning Legions of Hellslayer, from the Confedereichstag building, but he knew that if the occupying forces of West heisen and Depackya decided to bomb the Imperial Senate that he wouldn't have the benefit of eldritch powers to save him.

After gathering and processing all the facts, then containing his automatic instinct to panic by force of will, Bombardone yelled across the Senate chamber to demand an explanation from the Heisenian Senator John Eden. "What is the meaning of this outrage?," Bombardone roared, "Has it finally come time for the perfidious Bolshies to destroy us all? Is that your game? International revolution to wipe out us 'reactionary imperialists'?" Turning to face the Senator from Depackya, Stas Markov, Bombardone continued, "And what is the role that your military is playing in all this? Was Depackya not until now a faithful constituent of the Imperial Council? Why would you attack Vocryae in such an audacious manner, in league with the communists no less? What interest have you in our extermination? I will have you know that as Chief of State my demise will not be passively accepted by the people and government of Ridnez! If any harm comes to me, there will be a frightful reprisal, and the injury will be repaid hundredfold upon you and your peoples, both those of Depackya and West Heisen!" Not waiting to receive a response from the Senators, Bombardone thunderously plowed through the massive doors of the Senate chamber, followed by his personal retinue of lightly-armed bodyguards, before heading down an adjacent corridor of the building and desperately trying to establish a secure line of communication with the government in Centro Nuovo: "Hello? De Marco, can you hear me? Something cataclysmic is going down in Vocryae! I'm trapped in the Imperial Senate building by a paramilitary of reds! The situation is critical! Hello, do you hear me?... No response." The radio frequency used for private communications between Bombardone and the capital was being jammed over Vocryae by the occupiers, apparently, probably as a blanket communications blackout to hinder the logistics of any response by Jocospite defense forces. With time on the clock potentially running out, Bombardone had only one chance left. He, a man devoid of mercy, would have to rely upon the mercies of his colleagues in the Senate.

Bombardone ran back to the Senate chamber and grabbed the attention of one Senator in particular, Javehin von Tailspin of The Royal Protectorate of MineLegotipony. The Chief of State continued, "Horse, I am aware that your... people... have certain uncanny abilities at their disposal. If anyone trapped in this fiasco has the means and the connections to extricate himself from it, I begrudgingly admit it would be coming from your corner. Without me, the Republic of Ridnez would be thrown into disarray, and the Zendirist regime might even collapse amid the larger chaos unfurling throughout the Confederation. As such, I cannot stress enough that I am willing to make any concession to secure the future of my people, and naturally that means I must be out of Vocryae and back in Centro Nuovo before tensions can get any hotter here. So how about this, in exchange for guaranteeing my safe return to Ridnez, I am willing to negotiate a trade deal with MineLegotipony at considerable cost to my nation's economy; I am willing to export 2,500,000 metric tons of grain to your coastlines at a cost of merely 5 Jocospite flamas/ton, cutting the price to 1/20 of the average international price. At that point, I might as well offer to ship the grain to you for free; any revenues will only help cover the shipping costs. Now, I don't know what channels you use to communicate with your superiors, but I urge you to get back to them with this offer as soon as possible. Neither of us have any leeway with which to dawdle. No one knows how soon it might be before we're all blasted to gehenna by another air strike..."

In other news, certain officials in top brass of the Ridnez Armed Forces have initiated a campaign to extend the Order of the Zendirist Cheveron to the Supreme Maharaja of Deman kalan.

0738 AEST
DERK'VARNA HOUSE, VOCRYAE

Tín stood rigid as he gazed out the window. Vocryae, the Imperial Capital and administrative heart of the Confederation, was big. Not all the city was burning, but columns of thick smoke dominated the skyline. The Government Quarter had been under siege for some days now - The confedereichstag (known formally as "Confedereichstag II"), the Imperial senate building (ISB). The bombing of Confedereichstag II... Tín had no words. That the Borisloviacs and Heisenphytes would resort to this.

The reports lay ominously on a far desk. Tín had brushed through them. The carnage pained him - and for what? It was almost funny how men fought over the dead; the dead could never come back to celebrate the victories or lament the defeats. Well, not all the dead.

A knock. "Come," Tín commanded.

The great oakwood doors swung open. It was Berty, along with a whole host of others. "It's time."

0953 AEST
EMPIRE SQUARE, VOCRYAE

Greta watched the podium with unwavering eyes, as did the rest of the crowd. How many people were here? A hundred thousand? A million? The sprawling Empire Square was jam packed with Imperial Citizens. Certainly, they'd taken a risk in coming here today - half the city was under siege, for shadow's sake! But Greta didn't care; the Imperial Army and the Confederation Defense Force would protect her. She had to be here for this moment. Something was about to happen, something no one ever thought would.

The Shadow Emperor was about to speak publicly.

1016 AEST
IMPERIAL 459 ARTERIAL CIRCUIT, VOCRYAE

It had started to rain; the limo's windows were blurry. Manoel watched the passing cityscape. At least this section of the city was secure; the army was everywhere.

The Shadow Emperor sat opposite him. He was drinking blood, lots of it.

Berty was going on about the risks. "...and, if it doesn't work, the Confederation will fall."

"It'll work." The Shadow Emperor's voice was adamant, his expression pensive.

"I hope so," said Berty.

Manoel nodded. Then he grinned. "Hail the Confederation."

Cape canavral

8:40 PM, Kuststêd, Cape Canavral
Leon stared at the dozens of reports that had piled up at the bedside table, reading through them. He had been watching the news of the invasion of Jocospor all day. He grew furious as he read a report, yelling in anger as he chucked it across the room. He was supposed to be at the ISB today, had it not been for his leg injuries. He wished he could do something, but all he could was sit in the hospital bed, wasting away. He leaned his head back, dwelling in his thoughts, when a knock came to the door. Leon sighed heavily. He was expecting Alfred this evening, as they were to talk about what had happened in the capital. Leon cleared his throat.

"Yes, come in." Leon said, having begun to read the next dossier.

"Hello, Senator Basset." A familiar voice called out.

Leon looked up and froze. It was Mulligan. He knew he had to have been part of the bombing. There's no way he couldn't have, he had even threatened his life! So why was he here now?

"I'm sure you've received my kindly worded letter." He said, as he picked up the papers on the other side of the room that Leon had thrown.

"Why the hell are you here? You finally come here to kill me, since your assassins have failed twice already?" Leon said, trying to find his nearby pistol.

"Oh, don't try looking for it. I made sure the doctors took it away from you. And no, Leon, I'm not here to kill you. Not yet, anyways. See, you and I, Leon, we are two sides of the same coin--." He began, before Leon laughed out loud.

"You and I are nothing alike, Mulligan. We both hate each others guts. You already know I figured out what role you play in this, so it's only a matter of time until I get up and tell the press just what you did, and you'll be a fugitive on the run." Leon said, staring at the opposing senator.

"Oh, trust me, I would gut you like a fish right now if I had the chance. However, these cameras installed in here prevent me from doing that. So.. I propose a deal to you. To protect one another's honor." Mulligan said, leaning on Basset's bed.

"..What is this deal, Mulligan?" Leon said, reluctantly.

"A duel. You and me. Nobody else. Whoever lives gets to tell their side of the story to the press, whoever dies goes down in Caper history as the worst scum yet seen in modern history." Mulligan said, smirking.

"A duel, huh? What, do you expect me to roll up in a wheelchair only to get shot through the head?" He said, clearly already deep in thought.

"Just you and me, Basset. One last time. Unless you're.. a coward?" He said, staring at Leon.

"I am far from any coward. The only coward I see in this room is you. You're on. When do you want this to happen?" Leon said, clearly growing more and more repulsed by Mulligan.

"As soon as your legs are healed. The old dueling grounds. The ones that haven't been used since the 1890s. Noon." Mulligan said, preparing to leave the room.

"May god wish you a slow and painful death." Leon responded.

Mulligan laughed, before exiting the room. Leon sighed, realizing what he had gotten himself into. He continued watching the news in Jocospor, now having to deal with his mortality in more ways than one. It was only a matter of time until he'd have to face Mulligan down for the last time.

EMPIRE SQUARE, VOCRYAE

Together, Tín, Berty, and Manoel stepped out onto the podium. An entourage accompanied them.

The crowd was silent. Millions of Imperial Citizens had flooded Empire Square. Television cameras set to broadcast live across the whole Confederation were everywhere. A sudden rush of anticipation flooded through Berty. They were doing this. They were actually doing this.

As the Shadow Emperor stepped up to the microphone, distant carnage - gunfire, explosions, sirens, screams - whispered through the air.

Confederation state broadcasting

I'm Bailey Lemiers, and this is CSB Radio, continuing to bring you live coverage of the turmoil currently engulfing Jocospor. In breaking news, we cut live to Empire Square, Vocryae, for what seems like it's about to be His Supreme Majesty The Shadow Emperor's first public address. A party of twenty or so has emerged onto the podium here at Empire Square, and a figure...yes, it would seem to be His Supreme Majesty, dressed in black and with his head hooded...His Supreme Majesty is stepping up to the microphone.

[The Fanfare Imperial plays: https://youtu.be/rOq6X11YyGA]

My friends,

I am sorry to keep you waiting. I see you have assembled in the millions. I must thank you from the bottom of my heart. You have risked your lives in coming here today. As Vocryae, the Imperial Capital and our home, continues to fend off traitorous insurgents, let all witness your loyalty and dedication to our great Confederation project. I salute each and every one of you.

His Supreme Majesty is receiving vigorous applause.

I must decry--

His Sup[--TRANSMISSION INTERRUPTED--]istant silo exploded; none of the two and half million within Empire Square seem to have been affected, and His Supreme Majesty has recoiled from the podium surrounded by his aides, but is...yes, is retaking the stage and bound for the microphone.

Friends, nothing can break me from speaking with you this day. I am your Emperor, determined and eternal.

More passionate applause and cheering for His Supreme Majesty...silenced as Type J89 'Strikesnakes' of the Imperial Air Force fly overhead, no doubt en route to defend Vocryae.

And yet, my friends - I pray, be silent and hear me - I must speak to you with alacrity, for I would not risk your lives needlessly. What I have to say, however, is worth the risk you have taken in coming here today. By the end of this address, you will understand everything.

I must report to you what I know to have transpired. Yesterday, at 1627 AEST, a 100-head Depackyan detail cleared as an escort for Senator Stas Markov initiated a hostile take over of the Imperial senate building. The ISB's security forces, the 1500-strong 49th Imperial Legion "Blueguard", then engaged the insurgents. The Depackyan force, however, were bolstered, unsurprisingly, by men of West heisen's Red Sword and, surprisingly, the Stormguard of the Nationalist Authoritarian Party. The latter appears under the direction of Golden impirial utopia and The Xaviet Empire. The 49th Legion was overrun by approximately 2130 AEST, and the ISB was captured by the insurgents. As of now, however, the ISB remains contested.

Additionally, at 1704 AEST yesterday, two Depackyan jets flew into The confedereichstag. This act of blatant terrorism was followed by a prepared aerial disruptions across various parts of Jocospor by Red Sword forces. I can divulge that Imperial intelligence reports a full-scale invasion to be immanent.

The current fighting across various parts of Vocryae, particularly in the Government Quarter, is the aftermath of the previous catalysts I have mentioned. A considerable Depackyan military contingent was stationed in Vocraye; it has defected to the command of the traitorous Dmitri Damikov. Furthermore, several mercenary and gutter cells have decided to aid the insurgents. Hence, war continues. Here we are safe; within the Government Quarter and other parts of Vocryae, brave souls fight to restore peace and order.

I regret to report there have been casualties. The Hon. Viktor McRain of The Yeetusa, 5th President of the Imperial Senate, is dead. He was found shot to pieces in his office. The Hon. Nathan Ripley of Complete and utter freedom, Director of the Department of Arts and Communications, was found beside McRain's body. Both men held colts. They appeared to have defended themselves for some time.

The following senators have been pronounced dead: Gaddeth Ageor of The destroyers of christianity, Nikolai Alkröph of The Very Dark Place, Salazar Dalvarez Medici Empire, Nerissa Davis of HMS NHS, Antonios Giseppe of Feuraxia, Maximus Powers, King of New England INC, and Scott Whittfield of Cryptonnia. These murders do not appear to have been targeted, but are murders all the same.

The causalities from The confedereichstag are not yet tallied. However, I can report that all Imperial Councillors are safe and accounted for, and have been evacuated to safety. All other senators have been evacuated also, though, as of now, Andreas Bombardone of Ridnez, Andrew Merkennon of New destrucion, and Melody Starmer of Hunem are missing.

Those who have attacked and are attacking Jocospor as we speak do so because they believe their cause is just. They believe our Shadow Cult and its Confederation to be illegitimate. They hope to restore those who have passed from this world.

His Supreme Majesty is gesturing towards a box carried by two personnel...they are moving forwards...His Supreme Majesty is reaching into the box, and...oh my g--

This is the head of Rogger Wolfe. And this is the head of Murdoch Kellner. They are both dead. I had them executed. They were not the legitimate leaders of our proud nation or Confederation. They supported my predecessor, Emanoel II. They called me and my Shadow Cult usurpers. But that dynasty which their beloved Emanoel II hailed from, House Seiuwerd, were many moons ago usurpers also. Long minds, my friends, do not forget.

This is the head of Walter Memmon, recovered from the wreckage of the Central Rift Command Crisis. He is also, quite unequivocally, dead.

His Supreme Majesty is returning the severed heads to their box...the crowd is silent - neither supportive or hostile, simply silent - and now His Supreme Majesty is ushering forward other hooded figures.

These are my friends. Gentleman, one by one, would you please remove your cloaks.

This is Manoel Frans. You know him as your Warden of Vocryae. He is an excellent administrator, which is why he also served as Protector of the People of Jocospor from 24 November 2015 to 1 March 2016.

I know this next man as Berty, but you know him as Adalberto Fabian, the Chairman of the Confederation from 25 November 2015 - 9 December 2015 and the Confederation's first ever leader. He was ousted over claims of corruption, but those claims were fabricated by his political opponents. Berty spent his time wisely as he waited patiently in the shadows.

This is Lud. Again, my pet name, along with 'the Bak'kara'. He is Ludovic Dirk, former Secretary for Defence of Jocospor and Chief Keeper of the Peace from 24 November 2015 to 1 March 2016. You may also remember that he was instrumental in transforming this nation from a republic into an empire. I owe him much.

His Supreme Majesty has paused...he's...he's taking off his robes...he's...my god, he's revealing himself, HE'S REVEALING HIMSELF!

I am your Shadow Emperor. I am your only Emperor.

His body is destroyed, it's...I've never seen anything like it. The skin is...the face so broken, limbs mangled...I...

When they found me in that bath, drowned, they thought I was dead. Truth be told, I was close to it. For the most part, my mind had left this world. But a slither of hope remained within me.

I spent years in dark caves, years under the medical care of my friends and those who believed. Experimental rehabilitation has turned me into a monster. Amongst other conditions, for I contracted many in that deep darkness, I am plagued by a rare sensitivity to light. It burns me. Even now, I can feel myself boiling. My time with you grows short. Fortunately, I can temporarily treat my illness with the consumption of blood.

He's...he's pulled out a vial...he's...he's drinking that vial. That vial of blood...

The Shadow Cult of Jocospor

Tín shook Lud's hand.

"We've done it," said Berty.

"Yes." Tín was burning. "But I grow weak. We must leave this place and rejoin the Imperial Council. Quickly."

The fighting would come to an end. Years of preparation were over. Tín was back.

As a security detail hurried him into the limo, he found time to throw a grin at Lud. "I must say, Ludovic, you did make an excellent Shadow Messenger."

Interesting Times
"May you live in interesting time"

Outskirts of Vocryae, Undisclosed Airport
16:23 AEST - 30/3/2389 ALB

The crackle of gunfire in the air signalled bad things ahead. And Senator Tailspin von Javehin, the descendant of a line of the Imperial Family, ten generations down, wasn't all that scared. Sure he was bloody shocked when the Depackyan...? Depackians? Depackian? Deps. When the Deps stormed the building. He was in a janitor's closet with John drafting the next part of their bill when that happened. And now chaos was all around in Vocryae he heard. In times of crises like these, he cursed the Kirins and their saying of "May you live in interesting times". But during crises like this, his inner MineLegoEqeustrian blood began manifesting itself again. A stiff upper lip and a cool-headedness that any MineLegoEquestrian bureaucrat seemed to dispense in all cases. Phone connections were down, no way for him to contact homeland conventionally. A crack in his facade was that tingling fear of what Octavia his dear was thinking about. But at last, he cast those thoughts away and focused on the situation at hand.

John had pulled out a radio... from somewhere, and had recommended trying to give it a shot to the embassy in Vocryae. No luck either. Radio waves were being jammed hard. So, Tailspin left it to the three other bureaucrats with John to try and open the waves. This was shortly followed by the lights flickering on and off again for some time.

The Pegasus Senator headed towards the central room, where everyone seemed to be either panicking, indulging suicidal tendencies, or simply facing the crisis with courage. The latter was severely lacking. Even Senator Bombardone was seemingly in a flurry of fear and anger. He had pulled Tailspin to the side and asked - but more probably begged - to be evacuated from the building. There was that flicker of genuine fear that he was trying to convince him. Promising something around 2.5 million metric tons of grain for a very low price. Vestige, as usual, whispered in his ears to maybe enjoy a bit of schadenfreude, and deny his request to let him panic as he feared for the collapse of his Zendrist regime. For a moment, a millisecond, Tailspin agreed with Vestige for once, it would be entertaining. But at last, that millisecond passed and his more rational side kicked Vestige out and agreed to Bombardone's request.

The gunshots seemed to tick up as Tailspin returned to John and his compatriots, hopelessly trying to turn it on before several RSes (Red Sword, not to be confused with RS, MineLegoEquestrian Acronym for Rumah Sickit, or Hospital) came and asked for him. Apparently, MineLegotia and Equestria had pulled some strings, requesting for their Senator to be extracted. Gathering the two men, two ponies, and one griffon. The group was escorted before the room, before Tailspin asked for Bombardone to be escorted along, saying he owed the MineLegoEquestrians a favour and was also quote "a good friend of his". Tailspin enjoyed the moment when Bombardone was escorted by the Red Sword, there was that hint of shame that he was being escorted out by people of an ideology he had relentlessly attacked before. If Tailspin was a changeling, he would have relished the taste of shame coming off him.

But at last, the plan, as usual, dissipated when engaged by the enemy. The Blueguard took the moment to blow open the doors they were passing and opened fire. Tailspin was more than lucky enough to be pushed to the ground by one of the bureaucrats as the Red Sword quickly ducked behind cover to return fire. He didn't exactly see where Bombardone went. But the sight of a pudgy senator rushing the hallway to their extraction point whilst covered by three Red Sword paramilitaries, was more than enough to let Tailspin know, that he was a coward as he ran to safety and out of the country. He will savour that taste of shame when he met Bombardone again.

Thankfully, after neutralising their Red Sword escort, the Blueguard quickly escorted them out of the building. Doubling back past the main room, and out to the open courtyard. Most of the bureaucrats escaped unscathed apart from one or two fragments of a broken door entering their shins or wings. To say he was dizzy from all the confusion would be an understatement. He heard a distant explosion from within the ISB, the Red Sword was returning to take more control of the building. He had heard that they were bolstered by the Xaviens from the damned Nappers, funnily enough. The sounds of jets above indicated this was a war zone. And their evacuation out of the country was paramount.

But before getting out of the country, he heard the CSB's broadcast. Apparently, the Shadow Emperor was Emperor something Agustín. Jodran Augustine, or something along those lines. And, had an array of advisors from the past. His claiming to be the true ruler of Jocospor too was something out of his ancestor's books. Tailspin couldn't care less in full honesty. If this meant no more of the Shadow Cult bullsh*t, that was the only upside he could see from a situation like this. Because other than that, he doubted anything would change.

That was of course, unless, the Commies and Borsovians win. And that was something still way up in the air.

The ringing of a telephone disturbed his thoughts. John gave him the ringing phone and he picked it up. An unknown number. MineLegoEquestrian too.

"Who is this?"

"Thank God you're alive Tailspin," A voice spoke, male, old. And one Tailspin certainly recognised. "This changes everything."

The Shadow Cult of Jocospor

Imperial Palace. 6-3-2021. Vocryae, Jocospor.

My dear Confederation,

I pen to you now my first letter having emerged from the shadows. As I write, from the safety of my fortified bunker, I and the Imperial Council - Aleksandr Ivanov of The depackyan government in-exile, Heelain Curronfold of ShrewLlamaLand, Anastasia Clarke of HMS NHS, Sean Blackwood of Aeioux, and Hunteth Veredon of Valerox - can hear the destruction engulfing Jocospor. I am also joined by Ludovic Dirk, Adalberto Fabian, and Manoel Frans. I pray for everyone's safety.

I will not be so foolish as to implement a state of Pax Jocospora; you cannot believe my horror when that murderous and chaotic Triarchy tried such a thing. Rather, I will present the facts as they stand:

I have returned. It was I who bore the Imperial Empire of Jocospor from the Republic of Jocospor. There are none who hold a more legitimate claim to the Imperial throne than I.

Those who fight against the Shadow Cult believe there is cause to do so. There is not. The insurgents' leader, Mikhail Borisov, seeks to restore the viceroys of old. I am older than those viceroys. In fact, it was a ursurper emperor and his son who gave birth to that rot. Were it my days of old, the Confederation would still be led by a chairman. Alas, times have changed, but there is no need for them to change any more.

I call on all belligerent nations, particularly Depackya and West heisen, to stand down. There is now no need for bloodshed. You have proven your loyalty to the past; that is duly noted. But I am the beginning, the before. By logical deduction, it would be futile for you now not to prove your loyalty to me.

In twenty-four hours, if peace has not been restored, I will call for the following:

  • The defense of the Shadow Cult by every Confederation member state; and

  • Having successfully seen to the above, a full-scale invasion and occupation of Depackya and West heisen by every Confederation member state.

Mistakes have been made, honourable mistakes. This is a chance for them to be forgotten. But it is the last chance.

The Shadow Cult, my friends, has risen. Thou shalt know no fear,

HSM AGUSTÍN I
Emperor of Jocospor
The Shadow Cult of Jocospor

Golden impirial utopia

Vocraye, Jocospor:
Two Stormguard Officers are talking in a garage.
"New orders, we are to lock-down the parts of the city occupied by the Red Sword."
"Not the Senate building? I thought we are meant to rescue Sir. Hazelwood?"
"Not anymore, he was secured. Red Sword went in for some Senators, our men went in through another entrance, they found him and got out just barely before the Red Sword got into a fire fight."
"Damn, and these new orders are from him?"
"Yes, now get the trucks, get the heavy weapons, and get moving!"

Streets of Vocraye:
The Stormguard are setting up checkpoints in the Red Sword occupied areas of Vocraye, including barricades, machineguns and some weak looking portable anti-air. The Stormguard regiments are moving with perfect discipline, and displaying an almost intimidating amount of knowledge on the local layout...

Golden Impirial Utopian Military Command:
A message is heard on intercoms across all GIU military bases:
"This is an automated announcement: all military officers are to prepare their forces for war. All nobles are to prepare their men-at-arms and levies. This is an automated announcement..."

Hail the Confederation!

The Bavarium Producer of Medici Empire

Secret bunker of Medici diplomats, Voycrae, Unknown location, 11:27 a.m.

Shots were fired above the diplomats. Sandini looked nervously at his watch. Guards patrolled the corridors of the bunker. The roar of planes shook the ground. Suddenly the signal:

- Alpha team, secure airspace, we have 7 minutes. No more.

Sandini and the diplomats climbed the stairs to the surface and followed the guards. Buildings were on fire, gunfire roared, panic-stricken civilians were running in all directions, sirens were blaring. Medician soldiers remained near the bunker to continue the fight, risking their lives. The small group meandered through the maze of the city. Several times Medici's soldiers had to retaliate against enemy soldiers. Then the helicopter was in sight. The diplomats and Sandini quickly approached the military helicopter. Sandini turned one last time to the Senate building. The war was raging. The pilot urged Sandini:

- We have 3 minutes, move your ass! I don't want to deal with the Heisen Air Force.

- What about Dalvarez?

The soldiers looked gravely at Sandini. He had done his duty. The helicopter's propeller blades spun and the vehicle took off. Shots ricocheted off the metal of the helicopter. Then, the helicopter disappeared in the distance. Sandini knew it, this war was going to shake the Confederation. He thought of his senator friends and a tear fell. They will pay.

To the Confederation,

In light of the Shadow Cult’s ultimatum that was recently sent out, the non-intervention order that the Department of Defense has issued will be dropped once we reach the deadline and the traitors still stand on Jocospite soil. Any and all nation may join the conflict on the side of the loyalists.

I hope to see the traitors make the right decision, for their sakes.
