Once back at base, the pirates begin intergrating the prisoners, to see if they know anything and to judge how much they're worth. They start with Mel, who is clearly some kind of leader among them.
He would find himself in a cell, tied to a chair, with a bucket of water splashed on him. He'd see one of the pirates, her helmet removed to show white fur with red strips. "So then, let's begin. Do you know where you are right now?"

The Meklo looks over to the other being. “Hello, I am one of the recruits. We are from the Gaa’Mak Empire and our species name is Meklo. It is nice to meet you.”
The bandit looks around, getting an idea of where he is. "Looks like a ship, and since it ain't got the ugly crap from the helios I judge I'm on yours. And I can ssume I been kidnapped for ransom. Basic bandit stuff."
"Nice to meet you. I'm EVI-1, but I call myself Evelyn. I was supposedly some lab experiment, but whatever about that. Nice to meet you too." She does her best to smile, not quite holding a perfect humanoid form.

Although beaks prevent Meklo from smiling, they ruffle their feathers out which means they are smiling. “Many species here are like humans. How interesting. I had never seen anything looking remotely like them until we came into this galaxy. Perhaps I should look more into it. But anyway, what’s the plan for is?”
"Far as I know I'm one of a kind. Anyway, we're going to be airdropping above the vault's main entrance. Should be mostly smooth sailing until we get inside, then things may get difficult. But Enzo will be the guy dropping us, and he should have the equipment you'll need to stay alive if the bunker's defenses still work. Let me know if you need more info."

“I do believe that is enough info, except for the defense. What kind?” They start heading to the area they need to go to.
He is then slapped by her. "You are here to answer the questions I have. If you refuse to answer, or answer falsely, then I assure you your stay here will be most fun. For me that is, not for you."
"Should be similar to the loader bots on the station. We'll be raiding an old ingcap military vault, but it got bombed to hell so most everything should be vaporized. The inside is the only part we don't know about, but it may be hard to get through." She walks the new recruit to a vehicle bay, where Enzo is loading the dropship with supplies, guns, turrets, and food. Evelyn waves to the former bandit, causing him to almost trip over one of the ammo crates.
Enzo: "Well hey there, uh, Ev! This the new guy yer sposed to be trainin?"
"I been kidnapped before, so just hurry up." Mel seems unphased, more annoyed than in pain.

“Hm, looks like it shouldn’t be awful. Let’s go.” They step onto the craft and suit up, taking weapons and armor that fits them. They also apply exoskeletons so that they can move and have decent strength. “By the way, who is that?” Another one asks, pointing at to Enzo.
Evelyn: "That's Enzo. Used to be a bandit, which are brutal murdery tribal people on this one planet, but now he's a vault hunter and a damn good pilot. So, ready to head out?"

“Yes, we are. Let’s go. I’d say we are all excited.” General agreement is heard.
The hunters board the ship, Enzo gunning the engines and taking them close to the site. After a few minutes, the former bandit takes them in close and lands near the ruins of a large complex of buildings. The ground is covered in ash, scrap metal, broken armor, and unrecognizable bits of rubble. In the middle of it all is a pair of blast doors wedged just a tiny bit open.
Evelyn: "Watch this. One of the perks of technically being a liquid."
She slips through the cracked door, opening it from the other side and revealing a poorly lit corridor.
"I think there maybe a hundred of us, but then those robots started appearing all a sudden. There must be a thousand of those work bots."

The group enters the corridor, studying the materials and technology as they go, and looking for special doors, nooks and crannies. The group engineer shines a light into some machinery and pokes around in it, being careful not to get electrocuted. “I’ve never seen such a devastated building before. It’s somewhat eerie.” The engineer says.
"Place got bombed to hell by several nations back when the guys who lived here fell apart. You would've hated them, insane tyrants who regularly did genocidal crap and had a leader who was verifiably insane. But enough about that, the plans Pyn scavved say the main atrium should be down... there."
She points a translucent hand at a pair of heavily decorated blast doors with a stylized H&H engraved in dusty gold. She does the same trick as before, slipping through the crack in the middle and opening them from inside. The room behind the doors resembles an ornately decorated casino hall with gold inlaid walls and machines standing at the ready. It appears empty, the floor covered in dust save for a pair of heavy boot prints.

“Have explorers been here before?” The leader asks, while the others clear out the room and inspect the machines. “There appears to be footprints of some sort on the floor. Perhaps they’re part of the design? Although they don’t really look like it. Also, what kind of place is this?” The group’s marine attempts to pull the gold off the walls. “This might be useful” he mumbles to himself.
"I don't think that's part of the floor. Be on edge, and take all the stuff you can carry." Evelyn slips a hand through a tiny crack in another vault door, opening a safe full of chips followed with an annoyed groan. The gold is easy to pull off the walls, coming off in sheets attached to the wood. The machines seem close to basic slot gambling machines, but with much of it made from holographic components as opposed to real metal.
Then, from deeper in the hall, several gunshots ring out and one of the nearby machines explodes into sparks. Something is down there with them, something unfriendly.

The group grabs many different things, from tech to valuables to hard drives. Then they step closely together, guns pointed out, backs facing each other. This gives them roughly 80% coverage, including above. They each have a designated spot to shoot at. Deviate from that spot before told to and everyone is dead.
What steps out from the shadows is an old incap soldier, armor reinforced with scrap metal and machine gun plastered with poker chips and playing cards. It yells something incomprehensible before slamming its gun against a riot shield constructed from a broken slot machine backing and charging while firing. Most of the shots hit evelyn, dealing no damage to the liquid woman as she fires off a few corrosive pistol shots into the insane man's armor.

Fak'Omman quickly jumps into action, saying “break formation! I’ve got this. Quickly after, the soldier would find themself on the ground, with their weapon halfway across the room and Fak’Omman on their back. The rest of the group moves up and binds their appendages. “Well, hopefully it’s just the one.” Hom'Ghalak Says.
The soldier yells incoherently and tries to go for a knife which Evelyn quickly grabs and throws away. Afterwards, the bunker falls silent save for the low hum of the air circulation. Ev grabs a key off his belt, smiling and realizing there must be something good deeper in the bunker.
"Let's go find what this fits to."

“There’s always more to find. Let’s go.” Hom’Ghalak says, trying to calm the soldier down. “I think we will keep this one for questioning or research. If they’re mentally unable to communicate, we cannot facilitate them though.” He leans the soldier against the wall, upright and begins to search for locked doors with the rest if the group.
Reach was taken
Inside the Potentate the pirate crew sees a golliath blue star, and around it a Mega system of planets, all orbiting around the star. The planets packed together side by side as if they were huddled children in the winter warming up by a camp fire.
Multiple fleets are roaming around the perimeter of the mega system, and if the stealth weren't on they would be caught almost certainly within the minute, but with it on they could get past the garrisons with some light manuvering.
The 1000 planet system almost seemed to big to start anywhere.
