This document will adress the history and culture of the region of Vieternozsk, and officially pronounces the Wilno region of Poland-Kaliningrad as the Voivodeship of Vieternozsk. Any and all support and or reposts of this document will aid in the development of the official page, and will assist in the preservation of the Vieternozski culture and language. The Voivodeship of Vieternozsk
Capital Motto [pronounced Vyih-ter-noshzk] History The Voivodeship of Vieternozsk is a region of Poland-Kaliningrad with a rich and unique history and culture. It has it's own unique language that is used on official documents, and is taught in schools alongside Polish. Vieternozsk was once a nation that had territories in modern day Belarus, Poland, and Lithuania. It was bordered to the west by Poland and Lithuania, to the north and east by Russia, and to the south by Crimea. Its capital was the city of Wilno, the largest city and center of trade. Over time, Vieternozsk began declining in prominence, and continually lost territory to the Empire of Russia. What remained of Vieternozsk assimilated into Poland-Lithuania, where the Vieternozski people struggled to keep their culture alive. After the reemergence of an independent Polish state in 1918, the Vieternozski people continued to live alongside the Polish during the interwar period, and many Vieternozski fought alongside the Polish army during the Polish-Soviet War and WWII. With the creation of the Polish-Kaliningrad Commonwealth, many Vieternozski assisted in the Eastern campaign, and were some of the largest advocates for reclaiming the Eastern territories, including Wilno. In 2021, the Government of Poland-Kaliningrad passed the Vieternozski Preservation Act to keep the culture alive and let the people maintain their cultural heritage sans discrimination. The region of Wilno was officially made the Voivodeship of Vieternozsk, and the capital made Wilno. In a statement about the passing of the act, King Soldolski had this to say: "The Vieternozski people have long been without their homeland. For years have they endeavored to keep their cultural identity alive, yet the international community paid them no mind. When Poland was granted independence in 1918, Vieternozsk once again took a back seat and was forgotten. The Vieternozski people have earned a place among us. They are all around us: cashiers, policemen, artists, pilots, soldiers, doctors, firefighters... their right to their own language and culture is long overdue. While they may not be able to reclaim their Homeland, they can seek solace here, and found a new homeland, serving alongside us. They may now speak their native tongue, practice their games, and coexist among us. The Vieternozski are Polish citizens, and have every right to be protected by our nation. If they cannot have their Homeland, then this shall be their Homeland." Language The language of Vieternozsk is very unique, and has several different dialects, a few of which are dying out. The NVLLA (National Vieternozski Language Learning Association) has kept these dialects alive, and many see use throughout the Voivodeship. Regional dialects include: The Vieternozski language is of Slavic origin, but features many Germanic and Baltic elements in it. It is written using the Latin Alphabet, and features many of the same pronunciations as Polish, making it easier for Polish to pick up as opposed to foreigners. Due to the differences in dialects, a Southern Vieternozski would have a more difficult time understanding an Eastern Vieternozski, but all dialects can at least get the basic idea of what the other is saying, and hold conversation. (See Vieternozski Languages for more information) Culture The Vieternozski culture is very unique and colorful, and shares many similarities to Polish-Lithuanian culture. The city of Ebony (Heban) is notable for its piano manufacturing industry, and the forests of Oak, Elm, and Ebony surrounding the city. The piano is a symbol of elegance and high class, as it was most often found in upper class establishments. Combined with it's graceful sound, the piano is a large cultural symbol of Northern Vieternozsk. Sports in Vieternozsk include many famous international sports such as Football or Volleyball, as well as older Vieternozski sports such as Kirakkakkalalakaki, Terekiuyka, Yitalspiçoœence, and Đziuki. Some contact sports such as (American) Football and Wrestling (exempting martial arts such as Taekwondo or Ninjitsu) are banned to prevent serious injury. (For more information, see Vieternozski Culture and Vieternozski Sports for more information on culture and sports respectively.) Thank you for reading this dispatch on the preservation of Vieternozsk. In meam commemorationem... Special thanks to Yahlia for the outstanding recreation of the Vieternozski flag!
