The medium-sized government juggles the competing demands of Education, Healthcare, and Welfare. The average income tax rate is 34.8%, but much higher for the wealthy.

The Zyropian economy, worth 5.14 trillion Zyropian Dollars a year, is broadly diversified and led by the Book Publishing industry, with major contributions from Basket Weaving, Trout Farming, and Tourism. State-owned companies are reasonably common. Average income is 55,304 Zyropian Dollars, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 2.8 times as much as the poorest.

Government reports are now used to teach toddlers to read, feeling like a winner comes at a price, the government pours millions of Zyropian Dollars into rehabilitation programs annually, and it's surprisingly hard to find pictures of the bad haircuts from Leader's childhood. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Zyropia's national animal is the Cat, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests.
