In their personal lives, however, citizens are relatively unoppressed; it remains to be seen whether this is because the government genuinely cares about its people, or if it hasn't gotten around to stamping out civil rights yet.

The nation is committed to nuclear rearmament, a little pushing and pulling is needed for big ships to pass, the Horror Channelian Intelligence Agency relies on internet search engines to know what is happening overseas, and the Coast Guard is pioneering a quixotic program to train fish. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. The Horror Channel's national animal is the Free-range Zombie, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its national religion is no such thing.
