The compassionate, democratic population of 31.512 billion Spectacorians are free to do what they want with their own bodies, and vote for whomever they like in elections; if they go into business, however, they are regulated to within an inch of their lives.

The government — a sprawling, bureaucracy-choked, socially-minded, outspoken morass — juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Environment, and Education. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of New Spectra. The average income tax rate is 73.9%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The strong Spectacorian economy, worth a remarkable 1,601 trillion Spectrums a year, is extremely specialized and solely comprised of the Book Publishing industry. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Spectacor's national animal is the flyer, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests.
