The Matriarchy of Terrawynn is a massive, socially progressive nation, ruled by the National Counsil with a fair hand, and notable for its smutty television, anti-smoking policies, and punitive income tax rates. The compassionate, democratic population of 2.064 billion Terrawynnians are free to do what they want with their own bodies, and vote for whomever they like in elections; if they go into business, however, they are regulated to within an inch of their lives.

The enormous, liberal, socially-minded, outspoken government prioritizes Education, although Environment, Healthcare, and Administration are also considered important, while Defense is ignored. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Central Terra. The average income tax rate is 87.3%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The all-consuming Terrawynnian economy, worth 198 trillion sparecoins a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. The industrial sector, which is quite specialized, is dominated by the Information Technology industry, with significant contributions from Trout Farming, Book Publishing, and Tourism. The 'three Rs' have become the 'four Rs' with the addition of Rightful Thought, a flying elephant and the National Counsil share the same nickname, a sudden shout of "surprise!" does not herald a party for teachers, and young and brooding teens are welcomed with open arms to the Dogwarts School of Strangeness and Sorcery. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Terrawynn's national animal is the Goat, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its national religion is Humanist Paganism.
