The Dictatorship of Airelle is a huge, cultured nation, renowned for its complete lack of prisons, prohibition of alcohol, and avowedly heterosexual populace. The hard-nosed, cynical population of 602 million Airelleans are ruled without fear or favor by a psychotic dictator, who outlaws just about everything and refers to the populace as "my little playthings."

The enormous, corrupt, moralistic, socially-minded, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Education, Law & Order, and Healthcare. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Elle. The average income tax rate is 75.3%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The very strong Airellean economy, worth 50.4 trillion kroner a year, is dominated by the Tourism industry, with significant contributions from Book Publishing, Information Technology, and Automobile Manufacturing. A rolling news ticker tape of disclaimers runs across the bottom of the screen on all TV shows, Airelleans believe manners maketh the leader, criminal convictions are routinely thrown out because the accused's grandmother didn't get to testify about their good character, and the government is using tax revenues to provide jobs for the poor. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Airelle's national animal is the bunny, which is also the nation's favorite main course.
