The Republic of Bhadeshistan is a huge, efficient nation, notable for its sprawling nuclear power plants, public floggings, and anti-smoking policies. The hard-nosed, hard-working, democratic population of 491 million Indians are either ruled by a sleek, efficient government or a conglomerate of multinational corporations; it's difficult to tell which.

The relatively small, corrupt government juggles the competing demands of Education, Industry, and Defense. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of New Delhi. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 34.3%.

The frighteningly efficient Bhadeshistanian economy, worth 73.6 trillion Rupees a year, is broadly diversified and led by the Information Technology industry, with major contributions from Arms Manufacturing, Retail, and Book Publishing. Black market activity is notable. Average income is an impressive 149,903 Rupees, with the richest citizens earning 6.4 times as much as the poorest.

The Grinder at Fat Sal's Deli and Recycling Center is a national institution, citizens are encouraged to report friends, family members or co-workers who seem depressed to the government for "counselling", the nationalised Arms Manufacturing Industry is not interested in making weapons, and government employees have reverted to carrier pigeon due to never-ending virus scans. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown. Bhadeshistan's national animal is the Royal Bengal Tiger, which is also the nation's favorite main course.

Bhadeshistan is ranked 13,518^th in the world and 583^rd in The North Pacific for Most Scientifically Advanced, scoring 348.6 on the Kurzweil Singularity Index.
