The Advantage Space Shuttle Disaster.

After the attack on Flight 802, Lexxon officially declared war on Blackacre due to public backlash for the Blackacrean disrespect toward the tradgedy, and their negligent disregard to the growing prevalence of terrorist groups within their nation.

One year into the war, Blackacrean terrorists sent out a devastating attack. On November 11th, 2000, a terrorist missile shot down the Advantage rocket shortly after take-off from the Wingston Space Center during a mission to the ISS.

All 8 crew members on board were killed, along with 73 civilians on the ground as debris crashed into the town of Wingston. The attack caused a total of 81 deaths, making the Advantage rocket explosion the most devastating rocket disaster in Lexxonian history. The organization that shot down Advantage aimed to gain more reputation amid the war, and get more members to assist with future plots. The terrorists also believed Lexxon would use Advantage to spy on Blackacre. They sent a group of 5 terrorists to take a boat from Blackacre to Wingston to shoot down the Advantage space shuttle. Advantage was scheduled for take-off on November 11th, 9:45 PM.

They stayed in the Redwood Apartments near the Wingston Space Center. At the time, security at Lexxonian ship ports slowly became overlooked and underfunded since airport security had gained a higher priority after Flight 802. This allowed the terrorists to smuggle separated parts of a missile launcher and a small Surface-to-Air missile for them to construct in the apartment room.

As November 11th arrived, LASA and the WSC prepared for the mission. Millions turned on their news stations to watch the launch, unaware of the impending disaster. The 8 astronauts board the shuttle. Soon, the Advantage rocket is ready for launch. Mission control begins the countdown. Once the timer hits zero, the Advantage space shuttle lifts off. They successfully cleared the tower as spectators watched in amazement.

Meanwhile, the terrorists had fully constructed the missile and set up the launcher outside of their apartment window. They then launch the missile.

Seconds after liftoff, spectators described seeing a small streak of light, like a shooting star, moving toward the rocket quickly. The light suddenly disappeared into the shuttle. A catastrophic explosion suddenly followed the strange sight. Millions around the nation watched in horror as the rocket exploded. Medical examiner reports claim all 8 astronauts aboard actually survived the explosion. Unfortunately, they ended up dying due to oxygen deprivation and severe barotrauma injuries. Everyone aboard had died before the shuttle nosedived and crashed into Wingston town square, killing dozens on the ground.

FBI and LTSB agents were on the case quickly. Witness reports led them to believe the Advantage rocket was shot down. Many claimed they saw the streak of light originate from a building near the space center. The FBI identified the building as the Redwood Apartments. The FBI immediately began investigating. Agents questioned workers and investigated every room. Within room 411, they found something highly suspicious: a residual fragment of a missile launcher. Agents then scanned the occupant list for those in room 411. They found 5 Blackacreans from the same terrorist group that paid Crimson Jones to bomb Flight 802 a year ago.

FBI and LTSB agents tracked them down for weeks until they were located at a boat port leaving for Blackacre. All 5 of them were arrested. The Advantage Space Shuttle disaster has affected many around Lexxon, and may all who've died rest in peace. The Advantage disaster remains the third deadliest terrorist attack in Lexxon.
