The Grand Duchy of Hadiera is a small, cultured nation, notable for its museums and concert halls, public floggings, and frequent executions. The democratic population of 36 million Hadierans love a good election, and the government gives them plenty of them. Universities tend to be full of students debating the merits of various civil and political rights, while businesses are tightly regulated and the wealthy viewed with suspicion.

The government is spending millions on renovating the public transportation system, elevator music has been replaced by thrash metal played at maximum volume, there's a literal nanny state for the legions of children taken by social services, and nothing gets the party jumping like Leader specifying how high. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Hadiera's national animal is the Hadier Eagle, which soars majestically through the nation's famously clear skies.
