The Empire of Fankuwo is a small, orderly nation, remarkable for its compulsory military service, irreverence towards religion, and stringent health and safety legislation. The hard-nosed, cynical population of 36 million Fankuwoans are ruled with an iron fist by the dictatorship government, which ensures that no-one outside the party gets too rich. In their personal lives, however, citizens are relatively unoppressed; it remains to be seen whether this is because the government genuinely cares about its people, or if it hasn't gotten around to stamping out civil rights yet.

The large, socially-minded government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Law & Order, and Healthcare. The average income tax rate is 44.6%, but much higher for the wealthy.

The weak Fan economy, worth 957 billion cians a year, is led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, with major contributions from Furniture Restoration, Book Publishing, and Retail. State-owned companies are common. Average income is 26,589 cians, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Fankuwo's national animal is the Renkiitai bird of frolic, which soars majestically through the nation's famously clear skies.

Fankuwo is ranked 38,479th in the world and 1,904th in the South Pacific for Most Income Equality, scoring 66.24 on the Marx-Engels Emancipation Scale.
