The United Island Republics of of The Zombay is a gargantuan, socially progressive nation, ruled by Tyros Newman with a fair hand, and renowned for its multi-spousal wedding ceremonies, rampant corporate plagiarism, and infamous sell-swords. The hard-nosed, democratic, cheerful population of 20.018 billion Zombayans are free to do what they want with their own bodies, and vote for whomever they like in elections; if they go into business, however, they are regulated to within an inch of their lives.

The medium-sized, corrupt, liberal government is primarily concerned with Industry, although Education, Healthcare, and Defense are also considered important, while International Aid and Environment aren't funded at all. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of New Réma. The average income tax rate is 95.1%.

The frighteningly efficient Zombayan economy, worth a remarkable 7,436 trillion Euros a year, is broadly diversified and mostly comprised of black market activity, especially in Information Technology, Automobile Manufacturing, Uranium Mining, and Woodchip Exports. State-owned companies are common. Average income is an amazing 371,490 Euros, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Blue sky thinkers are reminded that the firmament is actually more of a grey-ish colour, it is a crime to offend someone's religious beliefs, TV coverage of music festivals consists mostly of backstage interviews, and even secular Zombayans are shouting "Blessed are the cheesemakers!". Crime is totally unknown. The Zombay's national animal is the Axolotl, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to heavy metals seepage into national waterways, and its national religion is Temple of the Sun.

The Zombay is ranked 6,017^th in the world and 168^th in the Rejected Realms for Most Scientifically Advanced, scoring 517.77 on the Kurzweil Singularity Index.
