The Federation of Quetesia is a very large, safe nation, notable for its public floggings, ubiquitous missile silos, and stringent health and safety legislation. The cynical, devout population of 103 million Quetesians are ruled without fear or favor by a psychotic dictator, who outlaws just about everything and refers to the populace as "my little playthings."

The large, moralistic, socially-minded government juggles the competing demands of Spirituality, Education, and Healthcare. The average income tax rate is 53.8%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The sizeable but underdeveloped Quetesian economy, worth 3.38 trillion Qwerties a year, is led by the Tourism industry, with major contributions from Information Technology, Door-to-door Insurance Sales, and Woodchip Exports. Black market activity is notable. State-owned companies are common. Average income is 32,780 Qwerties, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

It's all quiet on the western front, work creation schemes keep the masses occupied with meaningless tasks, the Quetesian Arts Council pays teenagers to sit through opera performances, and programmes of questionable content are shown at peak-hours. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Quetesia's national animal is the Quetesian Tiger, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests.

Quetesia is ranked 205,930th in the world and 4th in Questia for Largest Gambling Industry, scoring -2.5 on the Kelly Criterion Productivity Index.
