A character role play. Imagine an Eireann colony, far, far away. Lost in space, and forced to colonize a planet nevertheless. A planet free of the old wars and fights of ours! A planet free to be as we please.

So... here's the fun part. Anyone who's played Beholder or Papers, Please will more or less get what I'm about to say. I plan on running a character role play set in the People's Republic of Neucrosia, a fledgling nation-state on a wayward colonial planet with many other nations set around it, each wishing to one-up the other.

Now, we won't be playing as nations, factions or world leaders. This time, we play as common citizens in Neucrosia, loyal patriots, rowdy rebels, pessimistic peasants, commissars and black market salesmen! All of whom will be interacting day-to-day in this far-from-home communist state. Whada ya think @Stalin wazwright? Wanna play as my right hand commissar in this RP?

And you too @Greater Eireann & @Jew volunteers! We're gonna have so much fun in the quaint little people's republik of Neucrosia. Ja kamards?

Sure! You could even play as a foreign infiltrator from a capitalist nation who wishes to destroy our glorious People's Republic!

In fact, you guys could even play as a multitude of characters. Tis about the story we create, after all, so there's no real limit to the no. of characters you can play.

Maybe we could start out on the Board, then move to forums once we are all established and know what all to do?

I wanted to bring this RP to the Forums, where we could possibly bring in even more fellow role players into the fold, but Eireann has suggested that we keep to the Board for now, until we have a proper footing.

So to get said footing, I have an idea. First, thing's first, I'm going to set up either a Discord server or Telegram group for all of us (to help coordinate things quicker). I'd recommend Discord, since it's the biggest social media on games (including NationStates), so it'll be easier for new people to join us.

Second, I'm going to need everyone to send me a general description of the character(s) they wish to play as.

Now, time for the most evil plot twist in history. I never needed your applications, all I needed were the names of your characters. And now they are all mine!

*Laughs maniacally as Neucrosian Central Police break down the door to make some arrests*

Man, I'm getting good at this diabolical planning. I'm sure @Stalin wazwright would approve of my state-approved use of police... Anyways, before we can start the role play proper, I need two things only.

I need a map - just a general sketch of Neucrosia - and some sample posts from y'all. Here's a good example of a sample post I've got:

Neucrosia, Northern Unal Region, Howwers (Town NU-13), downtown red light district.

"You've got the goods, 'Toli?"

At first silence, then a hooded figure appeared from the shadows of the alleyway. This figure then pulled back his hood, revealing Anatoli Ivanov. The Hooded Salesman. Your Local Bourgeois. THE BLACK CAPITALIST. Just a few of the names he had gathered in his time as one of the biggest black market operators in Neucrosia.

The hooded figure quickly looked left, right, up, down - he even stared at the sewer next to him -, and behind before thinking himself safe and pulling the man who called him into the shadows. Anatoli paused for a brief moment...

Then he greeted the man. "Hello, Jorgy. Long-time-no-see, your friends at the state apparatus take good care of you?"

Jorgy frowned. "Of course, our glorious country's selfless government spares no expense for the people and their needs... but they don't always take into accounts our wants."

Anatoli smiled at that. "I missed you Jorgy. You're my best customer when it comes to coffee..." he looked sideways again. "And guns. I have the java beans you ordered, taken straight from a guy I know who works at the docks - nice guy, nice family. As for the silencers you ordered... I was a little short."

Anatoli shrugged. "Some of your state-friends interrupted a shipment of said weapons equipment I had coming from Melenga, so I only have 8 to give." He then quickly coughed, before extending his hand forward.

"Thanks 'Toli," Jorgy started, reaching into his pockets. "I'll be sure to return the favor."

Anatoli's smile disappeared right then. "@sshole! I thought you said you had my money ready? You have any idea what kind of sh*t I go through to get you your goods? I"m trying to run a business here!"

Right then, Joseph "Joe" Steel appeared from under the sewer covers. "Business, comrade," the secret policeman chuckled at that. "Business is legal only for the state, comrade. I don't see why you shouldn't share your profits with us."

Anatoli quickled jumped at that. "D@mn you Jorgy! I trusted you!"

"Comrade Jorgy, I hereby promote you to vice-commissar. Now, let's give this capitalist a stern reminder of how things run in the Motherland."

As the two men drew guns, Anatoli quickly threw a vat of roasted coffee nuts at Joe's eyes, blinding him. Jorgy stared at his superior, before taking aim at where Anatoli was...

Only to realize that Anatoli had disappeared. "DRAT!"

"It's alright comrade." Joe wiped his eyes, slowly opening them. "We will get that pig next time."

"Yes, comrade Commissar..." But where did he go? The two men walked off, returning back to the local NCP depot where they came from, unbeknownst to them that Anatoli had covered himself with camouflage for the dull brick walls along the alleyway.

Once he figured that they were gone, he dropped his cover and placed it within his hood. "Amateurs." Anatoli laughed to himself, his hands making their way to his walkie-talkie. "Hey, Gina! Yeah, I'm fine. Almost got caught, again, but the old camo-wall trick worked. I've got some roasted coffee beans and silencers here, any chance you've got a customer for me?

"What's that? The rebel lady? Awesome. Thanks Gina, I owe ya one."

For the record @Jew volunteers, this is in no way canon. I just wanted to give an example of how we're supposed to more or less do this character role play. Chances are, we'll be writing less than I did, but it will be in a continous story format.

Also, credits to Jew volunteers for Anatoli, Stalin wazwright for Joseph Steel, and the unnamed rebel lady who belongs to Greater Eireann (we'll all know her name in due time).

That actually sounds like a great start. I say we go with that to start it out. I would love to sell weapons to Greater Eireann
