It's been a whole mess trying to get parental controls removed, I don't even want to get into it at this point. Currently, the hypothesis is that parental controls were removed from my email, but it's the phone itself that is under parental controls

Uh, King Louis XIV I guess. He was an absolutist monarch who kept France constantly engaged in war and persecuted the Hugonauts. By our standards, he'd be a bad person, and comparisons could be made between him and the fascist dictators who would rise up in Europe in the 1900's. He was also alive during a time where religious violence and persecution was rampant in Europe, authoritarianism was an increasingly common tactic for monarchs, and new political ideas were being formed.
So yes, we can say he's a bad person by our standards, but we can also understand how he turned out the way he did from the standards of his time and cumulative points in his life (such as being awoken to a mob in his room as a child)
You forget at that time monarchy was considered divine right and chosen by a deity. Something now we consider a horrible way to chose a government structure. Should I judge those then that picked that form, because that’s what they knew to be the only way, by our standards where everyone should be given a voice in how they’re governed? Or criminal justice, trade, class structure, even military service?
