The snip when quoting a double post would violate the quote editing rule... since the snip is only to hide offensive or profane posts that you are reporting to the nationstates mod team.

double posts aren't offensive or profane... just kinda rude.

Therefore it is actually a violation of the quote editing prohibition to snip when not needed (unless it's for length or clarity)
