Under no circumstances should a terrorist organization such as the Lacoy be recognized as nations, not in a humane world that is. Ten billion Hazai, that was all that Raika had to work with. Two billion had already been used for the acquisition of corporations in The mike roctafinserland, and East supple lund. Expected annual return; 40 million. Sana Hazuki of the city ship Taiza-10 had been sent to Sarkis, to negotiate with their government to obtain a chain of bankrupt factories. Her plane would be landing within days.

Araika sets aside the contract for Mirikai shipyards, another two billion, set aside for four new city ships. It was a busy month, between her duel in Sarkis to her release of partial plans for the Asphodel project. Several nations had already begun investments, and a small smile curled upon her lips. One more step towards Paradise in this world.

Well, perhaps not quite yet. her engineers had worked day and night. on the Asphodel plan, but the basic installation methods were untested. Until manufacture of the Loom system was complete and tested, success was not assured. A hundred untested technologies, from the Polystyrene infused concrete being used in additive manufacture, to the fusion reactors being proposed for power, were in the mix. The proposed carbon based coatings to waterproof the concrete floats were new as well. It was a dizzying load of theoretical projects and risks.

"Madam, the inspectors have been sent to Yukkira to view the baseplate forms. Their flight has just taken off." A young secretary has entered the room, wearing wiry spectacles and a smart two piece suit. A folder at his side is stamped with the insignia of the project, A map of strangereal's oceans with the red outline of a floating city overlaid on top. He adjusts his spectacles and continues. "We've review four other proposals since project Asphodel was released to the public. It appears that your rush to secure funding was misplaced."

"I suppose so." Araika's smile remains, as she flicks open her lighter and lights another cigarrette. Unhealthy yes, but she had long since discovered her immunity from sickness. "Heaven's gate is going smoothly then. Where else have we received offers?"

"Italitopia, Greater Saint Paul, and we're considering a third on a deep ocean ridge. They're a rather scattered group, but you didn't think that would be a problem." The secretary sets the folder by her side. "Here are the full details."

"Thank you Kaji." Araika picks up the report, flicking through it. Her eyes flicker over the familiar details, the glossy diagrams and images. Finally she finds the technical details at the back of the folder. "Alright, tell the captain I'll be in my cabin." She pushes back her chair and stretches, working out the pain in her back with a long yawn. She snuffs out her cigarrette in her ashtray, and walks out of the room.

Yukkira.

A small jet aircraft descend onto the airport of a Yukkiran coastal city, coming to a neat stop outside the terminal. The door to the craft slides open, and a young woman jumps gracefully onto the warm tarmac. She has long black hair, a stylish red jacket, and tight jeans. Her name is Yuno Charai, one of the masterminds behind the Asphodel project. Behind her emerges the sandy haired head of Johan Volk, lead engineer of the Heaven's gate project.

They are here to oversee the creation of the baseplates. These would be built on by the loom system, to create the massive city floats. As such, they had their own issues, each plate being hundreds of square meters in area. Specialized modules and equipment, ranging from connectors to reactor sheildings, were necessary too. As a project, this was a monumental effort, and they were the overseers.

Yuno turns to Volk, waving him down. She looks around her with a frown, then states simply. "I'll head into the terminal and get our passports checked, could inform the Yukirans that we have arrived?"

"Of course." As his partner walks towards the terminal across the shimmering tarmac, he pulls out his phone, and glances through the note given to him by lady Araika. After a minute, he dials the Yukkiran government, intent on informing him of their arrival.

Sarkis

A black limousine draws up before the Sarkish economic bureau. The driver gets out, opening the door for a frail man, who gets out of the car slowly. His lined face is calm, his wiry frame seems on the verge of breaking. However, a hidden fire animates his eyes, his every move betraying a hidden purpose. He thanks the driver, then begins to walk up the steps of the bureau. A briefcase is clenched tightly in his bony hands, stamp with the insignia of the Asphodel project.

He enters the wide doors, and quietly passes through the security checks. Making his way across the lobby, he walks over to the desk of the receptionist, and states in a quiet, hoarse voice. "Minister of the economy, of the Heaven's Gate project. I'm here on the subject of acquiring a factory chain for the project."
