The Kingdom of The Card Vault

Hello, This is the Card Vault.

The Card Vault's purpose is to store the most valuable cards of players all around the world. I will of course never sell them as if I did my reputation would disappear almost immediately. I may sometimes transfer them but you will always be informed. Why am I doing this? I am doing this to help players all across the world, like many do in other ways.

I hope you use my services and goodbye.

"There is a proposal to merge Ironblood with Floof..." One man wearing an assortment of a military garb, that most were colored blue-ish approached. In a room where there were numerous files, paperwork, and the room was rather dim with the lighting, remained Miryam Fétique with a few soldiers. "Floof? What's floof?" Miryam asked. One soldier said in a hollow tone. "Floof is an alliance, m'am. Led by the nation of Daki."
Miryam sighed for a moment. "I swear to god, if this floof nation was made on the internet just as a way to waste our time and they proceed to flood us with random stuff on the internet and on conferences.. This daki nation better exist, because it sounds like a sh!tpost nation." "Its not, m'am. Its actually a nation." a soldier said. "Yikes. I feel bad for the person who had to give that nation name. Well, tell you what, send the letter to Illusia and Neverendia that we accept the proposal, and support it." The soldier nodded. "Roger m'am." and marched out himself.
"Now.. Time to deal with some other stuff in the nation.."

Murderous Minds

December 30th, 1964

Clydesdale, Autland, The United States of Tanabon

9:15 PM

Warning: a Murder takes place. It’s graphic/ Disturbing.

Arthur Winthrop read the paper at the Easy Go Diner. More of the same really. War protests against the War in theConfederation of independent colonies, the new President Jack Barker, or Jack “The Dog” Barker as the press sometimes liked to call him. He sighed and put the paper down before taking a puff off his cigarette. The taste was still awful, but nothing a little coffee couldn’t fix. He motioned to the waitress

“Excuse me, miss, could I get a pour of coffee?” He said, that salesman smile on his face, his wife liked to call it his ‘snake oil salesman smile.’

In the diner there were a few other people, mostly reading the paper too or a book. Some munched on plates of fires and burgers, a soda half finished next to them. A 1960 Bel Air passed the window outside, it’s lights illuminating the water droplets on the glass of the window from the recent rains. The radio played a lazy tune over it.

The waitress came over and poured him a cop of coffee into his glass. A few droplets landed on his dress shirt under his opened jacket. You ain’t gonna be a salesman without a winning look, you know.

“Oh, I’m so sorry sir.” She said, grabbing napkins for him.

Arthur chuckled to himself with a smile.

“Don’t worry ma’am, no harm done. it’s no issue. Listen, will you watch my jacket while I go and try and get this out?”

She nodded and walked back to the kitchen. While Arthur meandered over to the bathroom. Once inside the anger finally released as began to mutter swears and curses at the waitress, pacing the whole time he did. He punched his open hand a few times before trying frantically to get the coffee stain out, but to no avail. More anger filled him, but he simply contained it like he usually did in public and made his way back to the counter where he grabbed his wallet to pay for his meal, when he noticed that 20 bucks was missing from it. It filled him with even more hatred and anger toward the waitress with the name tag of “Beth.” He dropped his head and composed himself again. He plastered his Office Supply salesman smile again.

“Excuse me... Aly. Could you tell me where your friend has gone? I just want to make sure she got my tip.”

The waitress behind the counter nodded.

“Yeah, she went out back for her break. You can probably catch her.”

Arthur nodded and made his way out the back after thanking Aly with “all his heart.”

Out back the waitress stood. His dress shoed feet slapped through the puddles as he confronted her in the alley. The sound startled her.

“Listen, Beth, I know what you did. Your going to come clean, or your going to have hell to pay missie.”

The waitress named Beth looked around for an escape of some sort. She backed off

“I... I don’t know what your taking about sir.” She said, fear in her voice.

“Ohhhhhhhhh yessss! Yes you do. Don’t lie, just give me my money.”

At this point he was close enough to grab her.

“I did nothing of the sort, and I’m offended you would say so.”

She turned away and started to speed walk. Arthur grabbed her and began to yell into her face, calling her many different things.

He was shaking with rage, shaking with fear and anxiety. He was shaking with the.... thrill of danger.

When she turned around and slapped him, he broke loose. Grabbing a brick from a pile nearby, he swung it with all of his strength to her head. She was struck, her head cracked at the impact. She fell sideways to the ground, motionless.

Arthur stood there, looking down on what he did. He felt... horrified. Horrified that he would put himself in so much danger. It was a bad thing he did, he knew he needed to cover it up. No one needed to know. But... something else... the danger was enough to get his adrenaline pumping as he stood there, brick smeared with blood in his hand. It was power, it was danger, it was something he had never felt before, and... he liked it.

The pool of blood grew around her head, but he couldn’t risk her waking up in an alley and potentially turning him in! He took another two good smacks into her face with the brick. He dropped it into a puddle of water next to him before dragging the body behind some crates. To try and cover it up for a bit, he positioned her in a sitting position, hoping that would be enough to give him at least a day to compose himself and distance himself from the crime. The whole time a sick ecstasy overwhelming him. He was still shaking as he left the alley, his hands washed in a puddle to keep the blood from drawing stares. He entered his car and drove home. He did his normal routine: Shower, watch TV, Brush teeth after a few leftovers, and go to sleep. It was like any other day.

Welcome to The North Pacific!

Welcome to The North Pacific (TNP)! You might be a new nation to the game or in TNP, and you don't really know what is going on or where to start. Or you may be an experienced member but have several questions regarding some of the activities going on. Whatever the case, we have put together this handbook that you can use to familiarize yourself with the game and TNP, and to make the most out of your time in NationStates (NS).

The handbook has a number of different sections. The index below will help you navigate them. If you have any questions not answered in this handbook, feel free to send a telegram to Delegate Kaschovia, Minister of Home Affairs Lionsroar, or any of the Gameside Advocates and Mentors. They will be glad to help! Additionally, we are always looking to improve this handbook, so let us now if you think something should be added or changed.

Onboarding Checklist

This section covers the very first items you should check off as a newcomer to the game and TNP.

  • Why you should be in TNP: Selecting a region for your nation is one of the most important decisions you will make in the game. We hope you will make TNP your home, and this link explains why. If you have already decided to stay here, that's great!

  • Join the regional forum: The forum is where most government and roleplay activities take place. Registering an account is very easy. You should get yourself an account so that you can check out what's going on and join in on the fun.

  • Join our regional chat: Our Discord server is where our members hang out and chat about the game and real life subjects. You can join and introduce yourself to our community. Additionally, if you have any questions, asking on Discord is the fastest way to get help.

  • Apply for citizenship: Citizenship is your ticket to TNP. As a citizen, you can vote to elect our Delegate and other government officials, hold them accountable, and even run for these positions yourself. All you need to apply is a nation in TNP and an account on the forum.

Ways to Get Involved

Now that you have cleared the basics, you must be looking for things to do. Below are some of the opportunities TNP offers.

  • Get involved in the government: There are many ways to get involved in the government straight away after joining TNP. You can write the regional laws in the Regional Assembly. You can take part in the day-to-day running of the region in the Executive Staff. Or, you can protect TNP at home and abroad in the North Pacific Army.

  • Get involved in the World Assembly: Joining the World Assembly (WA) is one of the best ways to empower your nation, especially in TNP. Thanks to our WA Development Program, as a WA member you can determine international laws, have one of the highest endorsement counts in the entire game, and even win awards!

  • Get involved in RolePlay: We have not one, but two vibrant RolePlay (RP) universes, Eras and Strangereal. Each comes with its own map, chronology, and physics laws. If you commit to being active in RP, you can claim a spot in either universe's map, and join others in weaving stories about your nation and its role in the world.

  • Get involved in trading cards: Our regional cards guild provides many resources you can take advantage of to increase the value of your deck, including several offerings of free cards. As a member of the guild, you can also participate in many other cards-related activities, including themed collections, pull events, and regular publications.

Regional Publications

Through our regional nation, The Northern Light, we post a number of regular regional publications. You can follow them to stay up to speed with what's going on in TNP.

  • The Northern Lights: Produced by the Ministry of Communications, this is our regional newspaper. It includes both general news and op-ed articles about various aspects of TNP and NS.

  • The North Star: Produced by the Ministry of Communications, The North Star informs TNPers of current internal matters and government activities.

  • The Roleplay Reel: Produced by the Ministry of Communications, The Roleplay Reel showcases roleplay works by members of TNP's two RP communities.

  • The Monthly Snapshot: Produced by the Cards Guild, The Monthly Snapshot includes news about trading cards.

  • Press Releases: Produced by the Ministry of Home Affairs, press releases focus on news about the Executive Government, elections, and other regional issues of general interest.

  • Regional Assembly Digest: Produced by the Speaker's Office, the digest focuses on news about the legislative and other business of the Regional Assembly.

  • Information for WA Voters: Produced by the Ministry of WA Affairs, IFVs provide vote recommendations and analysis about all resolutions that reach the floor of the General Assembly or Security Council.

  • Weekly Anthologies: Produced by the Gameside Advocates, this series highlights dispatches produced by TNP nations.

  • Northern Broadcasting Service: Produced by the Ministry of Radio, this is our very own regional radio station in which our broadcasters provide their insight into current events in TNP and Nationstates.

  • WADP Awards: Produced as part of the WADP, this monthly publication presents regional awards to nations that actively participate in the World Assembly.

  • Literary Awards: Produced by the Gameside Advocates, this monthly publication presents regional awards to nations that actively post on the regional RMB or publish dispatches.

  • The Vice Delegate's Weekly Update: Produced by the Vice Delegate, this weekly publication provides updates on the activities of the Security Council.

Other Useful Links

Below are miscellaneous resources useful for all nations.

  • Government index: Get to know your government by using this list of all government officials in TNP. If you have questions or suggestions about any aspect of the regional governance, feel free to send a telegram to the corresponding government official.

  • Law index: This is a compilation of all legal documents currently in force in TNP. This includes our Constitution and Bill of Rights, which form the basis of our government.

  • RMB Guidelines: Posting on the regional message board (RMB) is a great way to socialize and get to know other TNP nations. Just make sure to follow these guidelines.

  • World Assembly voting policy: Look here to learn how TNP's Delegate casts the regional vote on World Assembly resolutions, and how you can help determine that vote.

  • Embassy policy: If you are here as a diplomat from another region, please take a look at our policy for in-game and forum embassies.

  • Recruitment policy: If you are here to recruit for another region, please take a look at our policy on permissible and prohibited types of recruitment.
