And what if you wrongly sentence an innocent to death penalty? This is immoral and utterly disgusting and to prevent these happenings we must ban death penalty. There are no benefits with it. We should abolish death penalty irl as well.
I’ve never really understood why there are so different opinions on this matter... for me it’s so obvious how terrible death penalties are but that’s probably because I’ve been brought up in one of the most anti death penalty countries in the world.
Here's what I got on the 9axes https://9axes.github.io/results.html?a=43&b=39&c=59&d=52&e=55&f=86&g=55&h=63&i=41 On the political compass, it says that I'm on the far left in the middle of Auth left and Libleft despite being a socdem Very epic
Thank you for the suggestion! Could you give me a quick summary for the book as well for me?
The issue is not that people might be wrongly sentenced to death, the issue is that they have chosen to ban all forms of the death penalty unless under a time of war. There are a multitude of reasons why somebody may be given the death penalty, some range from henious crimes, others originate from political standpoints, so on and so forth. Many people will give out the death penalty for different reasons, regardless as to whether or not it was for a crime. It is for that reason why I object to this resolution, as it stems to nullify any form of death sentencing unless one is at war. As for others, there is no doubt an irony at that logic. To ban the Death Sentence because innocents will die is not really any different then banning war because civillians will be wrongly killed in the crossfire. Accidents will happen, we have already passed resolutions to ensure the most minimum risk of executing innocents in the past. We should be confident in that an innocent dying from a wrongful execution meant that nobody would have been able to realize it was wrong. And on that note, I disagree that a life sentence is somehow better. Death is but a mercy from suffering, and I would consider the act of killing somebody for their crimes to be a far better act of mercy then to subject every moment they remain on this planet trapped behind bars, isolated, and despised by everyone around them.
You aren't going to sentence an innocent if you sentence a murder to it and do it correctly. As Spiritual lyrical individual miracles said, as long as a private company doesn't do it is fine. I think it's better than sending the murderers to what you call "ReHaBlIlITaTiOn CeNtErS" to "Integrate them to society as normal persons becouse they have problems" and those cringy words of "everything is fine, he just isn't educated enough" and yada yada yada, which, is, brainwashing.

I'd state my opinion on the death penalty, but I'm going to be honest, idk what you guys would feel on it, so I'll probably stay quiet on it.
The political compass is very biased. I read their Q&A on their website, and I won't lie, it's pretty wack on how much I disagree with them. I'll take it into consideration, thank you!
Prisoners of Geography describes the impact geography can have on international affairs, offering an explanation for such geopolitical events as Russia's annexation of Crimea based on Russia's need to retain access to warm-water ports and China's actions in Tibet to enforce its border with India. The book looks at six of the most fascinating and influential geographies around the globe. More often than you may think, decisions made by world leaders have a lot to do with geography. Sometimes, these leaders are prisoners of their geography. In the book, you’ll find out about Vladimir Putin’s obsession with one part of the world; why China refuses to let go of Tibet; and why Africa has failed to capitalize on lucrative trade routes.
