The Indronian Dominate of Daeztegon

To the relief of the Dautless’s Captain, the alien had indeed responded. If it wasn’t for the fact that the language-patterns were synonymous with Human ones, the translators would have had little to go on with such a short message.

“Not friend. Not enemy. Peace.”

And, peace it shall be. The lead Republic ship quickly sent back another message, this time translated in the xeno’s language…

“--Welcome to Republic space. Please avoid inhabited systems until official contact can be made. Does the Dominate agree?--”

Admittedly, the response could have been worded a bit more cordially. But the Republic had dispatched a frigate, not a diplomat.

Malevolently Benevolent Intruder

With a more complete message arriving, the Magos' cogitator is able to perform a more complete translation - though before any true talks are started, both societies will need to share linguistics databases.

"--Gallimimus stay. Wait for Republic official.--"

The Indronian Dominate of Daeztegon

Colonization III

With another surge of explorator vessels, the Dominate has expanded once more - claiming a hundred more worlds, in addition to a hundred moons and planetoids. This time, however, several of the claimed planets exhibit signs of alien life, in varying stages of civilization. For now, the more feral of the worlds will be ignored, bar research stations in orbit and undersea drilling; those more civilized planets will be slowly uplifted.

Indeed, a Republic diplomat was already en route to the scene. However, in the meantime, the Republic taskforce transmitted another message. In addition, an attached cypher was given to translate the Saharian’s own language.

This next message would not be translated on their behalf; the Captain figured that sending them another example of their own language would be the best way to allow the Dominate to translate on their own terms...

“—Understood, Gallimimus. Our diplomat is en route to these coordinates now. Please maintain your position.—“

With the cypher of the Saharian language, the magi aboard the Gallimimus rejoice - this is a momentous occasion, as these Saharians are the first space-faring alien race that the Dominate has come into contact with since arriving in this alternate past timeline, and they have not opened fire. As far back as these members of the Mechanicum can remember - which, of course, is hundreds of years owing to their habit of prolonging their lives by discarding all flesh in favor of metal - they had always declared wars of extermination upon all xenos, up until Primarch Icandros had recovered his memories and led the flotilla out of the fires of Horus' civil war.

Now, though, they send a cypher of Gothic - both High and Low - to allow for the Saharians to better understand their own tongue.
"--Gallimimus will hold position. Onboard Explorator-Magos eager to converse with official Saharian representative.--"

The Technohaunts of Kinmoon

Colonization 5

Advances into the northern core of Kinmoon has provided a bounty of planets and many moons, most of them being broken down by the Megastructure guild for use in their projects. The remaining planets however, have begun the process of settlement, with colony ships arriving in record numbers.

The next phase of the operation towards the Core yields strangely little resistance. It seemed as though word had already begun to spread about the two-pronged assault against the Core by the Republic and Solarian Union. Still, many of the abandoned planets would be a fine addition to their collection…

Central Command did not intend to keep the new arrivals waiting for long. Although sending one of their more-experienced diplomats would have been preferable, they only had nearby officials to work with - namely, the Saharian ambassador to the Sqopani Free Territories.

As the scene unfolded to the northwest, Douglas Visser was already inbound on a shuttle. Dropping out of FTL twenty minutes afterwards, the single unescorted YnH-60 proceeded slowly towards the Dominate vessel.

One more transmission would be sent over to the Gallimimus.

“--Dominate vessel Gallimimus, our diplomat is en-route. Requesting permission to come aboard your ship personally.--”

Onboard the Gallimimus, the magi are going wild at the readings their auspex is reporting - these xenos did not use the Warp for their FTL travel. Absolutely baffled and confused, the Arch-magos aboard the battlecruiser lodges a request with the Captain to investigate the xeno technology if possible, though the request is firmly denied - the aliens have yet to become hostile, and it would not do any good for the Dominate to offend them by stripping their craft apart and dissecting it.

Four Fury interceptors launch to guide the xenos craft into one of the massive hangar bays, where a platoon of Tanegashiman Guardsmen await their arrival alongside the cruiser's Captain. The Arch-magos joins the welcoming committee shortly before the dropship arrives, still somewhat miffed that the Captain declined his request.

Development I

Though the feral xenos have nothing to offer the Dominate in terms of technology, preliminary reports and careful excursions have shown that several of the worlds share an evolutionary link - an incredibly unusual occurrence. As such, a genetor team has begun researching this link, looking deeper into the history of this section of space.

The Heliarchy of Rykil

The Heliarchy - Colonization IV
Colony ships escorted with military fleets arrive at uncharted worlds, touching down and bulging outwards with pre-fabricated buildings. Construction vehicles and drones release themselves from inside and outside of the vessels, setting up the pre-planned and Supercomputer-calculated foundations for Ryk civilization. Ryks huddle in eager preparation. Then, they too are released to begin work and inhabitance. The planets colonized are claimed for the Heliarchy.

The fourth phase of this colonization period has claimed 50 Planets and 50 Moons.

With this newest wave of expansion, the explorator fleets have laid claim to several planets - and these shall be the first new Forge Worlds in centuries. The remainder of the systems now under the banner of the Dominate contain a mix of death worlds, dead worlds, and mining worlds; it will take significant effort to establish proper habitats on the former.

A library? Aboard a warship? That was certainly unusual. Many ships tend to have a database of some kind, but a fully-fledged library?

Douglas Vissier stood behind the two pilots in the cockpit as the Dominate warship came into view. It was an immense and impressive sight; as they drew closer, the immaculate detail imbued on the ship’s structure became visible. Shining brightly with metals and what seemed to be gemstones, its appearance was almost mythological - yet its imposing stature and architecture ensured such a work of art could not be mistaken for anything other than a ship of war.

The Republic shuttle slowed down as the Dominate fighters came to take its flank. Slowly they approached - being this close, the ship looked more like a flying gothic cathedral than a ship at all.

Finally, the Republic YnH-60 crossed the threshold of the hangar bay. Its side-swept wings folded inward to point ahead as it came to rest gently on the hangar flight deck.

Double-backing on the current push northwards, additional planets are added to the Republic sphere of influence. Soon enough, even more worlds will be ripe for the taking by Saharian colonists.

Since we left Equis there were no planets in the entire area of the Union was habitable except for a potential habitable planet that had reasoyrces to allow it to become habitable with teraforming. Malevolently Benevolent Intruder

As the Saharian diplomat steps out, he'll immediately see the size of the hangar - the 'Palisade' frigate some tens of thousands of kilometers distant could easily fit within the gaping bay, with ample room to spare. Parts of the bay are sectioned off by large metal barriers; hazard stripes line much of the floor and a conveyor belt is easily seen some distance away, bearing a dozen large APCs, and even a towering bipedal mech of some kind - unbeknownst to him, these are Chimeras and a Questoris-pattern Knight. In his immediate area, though, a full platoon of soldiers in ornate - yet very functional - red body armor, their appearance harkening back to the ancient history of Terra itself; several men even wield shields and swords in much the same style as their armor.

Two individuals step forward, followed by a floating... skull, with a bionic eye glaring out from one of the sockets and a mass of wires and other tools trailing from behind it as it follows the two men. Of course, to call one of them a man at all is a stretch - while most of his body is swallowed up in resplendent scarlet robes adorned with what appear to be 1s and 0s, in addition to some sort of skull-cog emblem, what is within sight appears unnatural at best, while horrifying at worst. Fully half of his face has been replaced by metal and cybernetics, and one of his arms is entirely metal, with the 'hand' splitting into over a dozen separate tools. Sprouting from his back are half a dozen more tendrils, far larger in scale, each tipped with a tool, grasping mechanism, or weapon of some kind. In his single flesh hand he wields a large halberd, though the blade seems to be nothing but half of a cog - albeit with electricity arcing between the teeth.

The other man, thankfully, is not nearly so off-putting. With black boots of some sort of leather, white pants, and a blue overcoat and shirt that hearken to the navies of the 1700s, he is by far the most normal of the entire bunch thus far. The single thing out of place upon his uniform is the large sword at his hip, which appears to be a chainsaw, and the oversized pistol tucked away in a holster on his belt. This man is visibly shocked at the Saharian's appearance but speaks in a steady voice; surprisingly, it echoes out of the skull in the Saharian language.

"In the name of the Primarch, I bid you welcome to the Gallimimus. I am Captain Feversham, and this is Arch-Magos Alypias, of the Cult Mechanicum. Who do I have the honor of speaking to?"

The Technohaunts of Kinmoon

EXPANSION 1

Kinmoon begins to expand inwards once again, focusing mainly on the creation of massive factory worlds to help fuel their massive nation. The new collection of worlds will be supplemented by orbital facilities and nearby portal gates and junctions, which will also be constructed as side projects, to help quicken the transportation of goods.

For what was the second time in the Saharian Republic’s short history, a fellow Tarran nation proved to be more unfamiliarly alien than xenos themselves. Saharian diplomats were trained with a fair degree of mental conditioning in mind, as was appropriate when dealing with other species which could be particularly terrifying or incomprehensible - even if not meaning to be. Still, any sight such as this would shock one to the bone.

Ambassador Vissier was of average height, with short black hair and fairly young; he wore the standard Envoy’s uniform, a slightly lighter and more sparse version of the classic Navy Officer’s uniform - which itself was not far from that of a UE officer’s. Acting upon his training, he pulled his focus away from his surroundings to focus on the figures in front of him.

“I am Douglas Vissier, Envoy of the Saharian Republic. I am grateful to meet you both. Your vessel is… quite impressive. It is very much unlike anything we have ever seen.”

She nods "True it was. Luckily we manged to get lucky in terms of iur records staying up to date. Follow me Ill lead you to it. Ohh also keep an eye out when we are in the library there are a few roumbas in there cleaning." She then leads him to the library and we enter it and there are lots of hardcover books in bookshelfs as far as the eye can see as well as multible digital storage of information. Also he sees quite a few roumbas cleaning and preventing any dust.

"We are glad to have met peacefully, Envoy Vissier. As Captain of this ship, I thank you for the compliment; for a vessel over two thousand years old, I like to think it appears much the same as the day it was launched from the Martian voidyards."

He makes to ask a question, but is interrupted by the amalgamation of flesh and metal to his side. An electronically pitched voice emerges from a speaker where his mouth would be if he retained skin.

"How is it that humans exist here? We have done our scans, and Terra cannot be found - nor the rest of Sol."
