Having taken control over the Keesler AFB. The only remaining installation in the way of the union moving align the I-10 was the Pascagoula. Bordering along the Mississippi and Alabama border, its the last town between the Union advance and the NAR city of Mobile. An important port along Mississippi's coast, it holds one of the larger shipyards that align the gulf coast. Ingalls shipbuilding had been important for the production of naval destroyers for the pre-war american navy. Along with holding a naval base set on a lone island to the south. Though long abandoned by any intelligent life. The town was still filled with a large amount of ghoul residence that had gone feral from radiation.Along with the ghouls in the direct front of the advance. Reports of a small raider band to the north hanging around Lucedale had been worrying about any further use of the territory. Leaving the force to send a detachment north with air support in the form of 2 Dauntless.

The commanders had little planned on how to take the city without damaging the facilities too heavily. Along with any of the resources that could be found within. So after some debate between officers. The main force would set up on the outskirts of the ruins, while the tanks would move in to draw out the ghouls and be protected.

Having set up to align the highway, the infantry followed a good distance behind the advancing tanks. With their noise waking everything but the dead. Dragging any of the ghouls that could move out into the streets. Though they couldn't get within the tanks, the fire from the infantry picking off the ghouls that managed to climb on was a bit unnerving to their crews. Though the infantry still had to clear the buildings. The Naval Complex led to automated defences that were a bit more difficult to deal with. Though the ghoul had fought with the automated security the turrets still remained.

The force moving to Lucedale had little issue on the other hand dealing with the raiders. As the band was in two camps. Split between the town's highschool and the county Jail. The heavy bomb loads of the Dauntless aircraft were decimating to the small camps. As the infantry on the ground spotted targets. The large 250 and 100 lbs bombs maid massive holes in the jail. While the highschool collapsed into itself after a benign hit in the center. Finally falling from the damage of time and high explosives. The resulting mop up was just putting down any that crawled out of the highschool and taking care of the survivors in the jail. Keeping a future thorn in the Unions supply lines out of the way.

Following the invasion of Augusta in Georgia the New American Republic realized it had been neglecting the Commonwealth of Alabama's claims and had began preparing for an invasions that it can appear as liberators in order to fulfill their promises. This has been started by the invasion of Dothan as the region has been overrun by raiders leading to it being a region that the people would appreciate any form of intervention to throw off the chains of raiders. The raiders however had made camp in the cit itself while the outlining farm land where mostly kept running but were subjugated by the raiders to funneling resources to the raider base. This has forced the Republic's New American Army into slowly taking out the food supply by sniping guards keeping the civilians working under the raiders. However, this was a long process repeated many times through the general region from both north, south, east and west.slowly surrounding the raider infested city while cutting off access to food. for the raiders. The Republic content to starve the raiders out has kept sniper teams on all exits and prepared some rudimentary mines at the exits as well to make sure that raiders infesting the city proper was going to get exactly what they deserved if they didn't surrender and began the waiting game for the raiders to either starve to death or surrender. During this time negations began with the locals to get them to one by one agree to join the Commonwealth of Alabama in the New American Republic in exchange for making sure sniper teams will protect them from future raider attacks and that they would be given rights to scrap in the raider controlled city rather the Republic which the Republic agreed to in the attempt to make itself seem like more of a benevolent altruistic force that while they will annex those in their way will try to help them out as much as they can rather then a simple imperialistic goverment. Which in a way both aspects are true as the Republic has begun a somewhat imperialistic attitude towards regions but only in the sense of fulfilling promises to its subservient governments and immediately ceding territory from Federal justification to Commonwealth jurisdiction. However, after nearly a weak after the agreements were made the raiders agreed to surrendered unconditionally which had them taken into custody while being watched and brought to different areas of the region for various court cases but the whole time having guns on them as it became apparent they would die no matter what some considered escape but were reminded they would at least get a last meal before they died and them being so starved they complied and this to led to their executions however they were each given a last meal and executed cleanly through a bullet in the back of each of their heads.
Following this annexation the New American Republic gained 1800 people.

Keeping a Promise: Part Two Lesser of Two Evils
With this renewed sense of imperial authority to support the Commonwealth Rights to land claims even when it does not directly border its currently controlled territories of the Commonwealth but also of more pressing manner was the issue of Greenville a settlement directly south of the rumored slave state in the more anti civilization and anti law parts of old America in the Upper South and the firmly anti Confederate original Unionist lands in the Appalachian lands at least historically as rumors proposed that perhaps the entire upper South or at least Appalachia could be under an oppressive goverment meant that the New American Republic had leverage it can justly make the case it really is the lesser of two evils as while Greenville is a mostly Ghoul city its threatened by either segregation by the Commonwealth of Alabama or slavery by the northerners. While Greenville had attempted to hold out to maintain its own independence a specific statement had been used by the Republic specifically the President "Separate But Equal will be enforced and the Equality Part Comes First" a new law was introduced in the New American Republic's Congress sponsored specifically by the president in a case of the first major party schism occurring. This new law known as the Union Preservation Act stating the Republican Government has the right to revoke the legal charter of any Commonwealth temporary and be under the control of the military until a new Commonwealth Government can be established should it be determined that a Commonwealth found to be actively violating the equal rights of any Humans or Ghouls living in the New American Republic due to the reasoning that the Republic has a duty to preserve freedom for all its citizens first as allowing such tyranny would threaten the unity of the Republic and that while segregation of having both live separately is not in of itself a violation and is allowed under the act having goverment services being given separate levels of quality will be considered a violation. This legislation having just narrowly passed despite the still single party rule occurring in the Republic has begun to worry some members that populism on its own cant last. Regardless however, this legislation promise has put at ease many Ghoul communities within the claimed territories of both the Commonwealth of Dixie but more notably in the Commonwealth of Alabama.Subsequently following this legislation the New American Republic sent a diplomat to the Greenville City State to propose its annexation into the Republic because while their worry were put to the rest ion the Commonwealth the manner of goverment was more pressing should the city state accept the offer. The Republic promised the City State's Administration will remain the same but converted to that of a city goverment for Greenville furthermore the Republic shall protect it from any and all slavers from the north this led to a reluctant acceptance of the agreement and the annexation of Greenville into the New American Republic and into the Commonwealth of Alabama.
Following this rather peaceful annexation the New American Republic gained 1900 people.

"Shut up, Carl," the LT broke in. "Everyone knows the Motor City is a myth! Golden Tower, my *ss..."

The Sergeant detective looked at the LT, speaking to him now. "Now, about your charges. You are under arrest for aiding a criminal. You'll be jailed in the Evanston Police Department until your court trial in Ogle County." He began reading the mercenaries their rights to a fair trial via an attorney. The Detective called over a group of Constable field officers to escort the men to Evanston city while another officer contacted the radio tower in Evanston about the incoming mercenaries and need of a police escort dispatch called up Evanston Police Department to escort them to the cell in the department.

In a few days a squadron of detectives, assisted by a few teams of field officers, were dispatched to find their way on I-94 to follow it into Chicago to investigate the Chem racket. Detectives learned that Raiders set up pay tolls on I-94, protected by scrap-built fortifications and sandbags galore. Field officers disposed of these pay tolls effectively, and due to the ongoing operations, prisoners were a no-go so they were executed to limit the paperwork. The fortifications were kept undamaged as reinforcements could use them as checkpoints. Upon reaching Greektown, the personnel was met with scraptowns and settlements that were outside the Chicago Water Taxi River, those who wished to cross the river into Chicago had to pay an expense, yet another pay toll. These pay tolls were instead occupied by men in luxurious-wears, and the city in the distance was lit up with bright lights, huge skyscrapers, and a few tall buildings left. The detectives decided to split off, one squad investigating the outskirts while the other enters Chicago and investigates the interior. Each squad was accompanied by field officers disguised as locals.

Upon entering the outskirts they quickly realized that these settlements and towns are neglected by Chicago’s residents and management, with corpses lying in the street and people wearing little-to-nothing. The detectives asked locals where they could get their fix, and the residents pointed out multiple Chem dealers in Greektown and their locations and what they sold, Psycho and “Wacko-Gel”. Field officers scoured the given locations, down alleyways, and into abandoned two-story buildings. Most of the Chem dealers that were located were small fry and were arrested without much struggle. The detectives learned that the big fish must be inside Chicago, as they quickly sealed the Chem trade in Greektown discreetly. The suspects that were arrested were smuggled out of Greektown and were being escorted back to Evanston by the field officers, leaving the detectives to cross the river and enter Chicago, joining in on the separate investigation. The field officers were also told by the Chief Inspector detective in their squadron that they should also call for reinforcements through I-94.

Family Is Everything

After acknowledging the criminal activity, Evanston dispatch was notified about the criminal activity originating from Detroit, aka 'Motor City'. The Sheriff Sergeant and Bureau Captain from Evanston discussed and agreed upon the North, South, and West regions of Chicago to establish checkpoints amongst every main street, highway, interstate, or route entering the region to extinguish the rampant crime lately. Companies of Sheriffs and Bureau Officers were dispatched to Chicago to establish checkpoints on the entrances. Checkpoints were established to check refugees, citizens, and others for illegal contraband and distinguish gangs and criminals from innocent citizens. While checkpoints were being developed sheriffs and officers breached Chicago with a warrant approved by the Evanston Bureau Regional Commander that was approved by the Ogle County Justice Department to raid Chicago for internal corruption, organized crime, and crimes against humanity.

As patrolmen flooded into Cook County, the mafia’s goons were forced to submit as police officers flooded the city. Mobsters tried defending Chicago with their automatic weaponry but were overrun by the mass of police officers, slammed to the ground, and subdued while others were shot or beaten. Police officers breached skyscrapers, large buildings, and urban locations, in an attempt to distinguish the major mafia threat in Illinois. Police were met with mobsters with explosions and automatic submachine gunfire as they progressed through each building. In the large pre-war technology skyscraper, Xap-Tech Inc, a triggerman shot an RPG into a weak portion of the skyscraper from the interior, causing a gap in the building. Citizens watched in horror as loud scraping and creaking emitted from the slanting 25-floor skyscraper as it began to collapse. The RPG blast sacrificed multiple lives, some even being innocent.

The incident caused chaos in Chicago as people panicked and gunfire ran rampant through the streets of the city. Police held down the city entrances across the river were developed into checkpoints. Mobsters were taken into custody or shot on-sight. Surrendering gangsters were escorted out of the city and fleeing citizens were taken into safety while rescue groups of field officers were dispatched to the Xap-Tec collapse to rescue any survivors and few were dragged from the scrap and survived the incident. The officers and sheriffs that were found deceased were gathered, identified if possible, and the next of kin were notified of their death. Most met their fates, dying from the building collapse while others were crushed by the demolition. Chicago after a few days were maintained by the sheriffs and officers of the Bureau. The case concerning the Chem lab explosion and homicide was put to rest, but still active to detectives, sheriffs, officers, and deputies to pursue.

The Sovereign Corporation of Ivan Industries

Turf Wars, pt. 3
Not all of Chicago was in Mafia hands (or, nowadays, in Bureau hands). The Indiana part of Chicago, known as East Chicago, was controlled by the Arch-Diocese (and now, by extension, Ivan Industries). An Ecclesiastical army post had even been built at an old gas station near the former Illinois-Chicago border, in Whiting, along US-12/20/41, otherwise known as Indianapolis Boulevard. The garrison of this outpost, numbering about 200, kept watch on the roads and kept the mafia's men out of East Chicago.

Of course, the Arch-Diocese couldn't do anything about the Dons. They observed with no small amount of frustration the team from the Meridian Cartel as they waltzed right into Whiting and set up shop in the ruins of the Horseshoe Hammond casino, along the coastline. The Cartel began renovating the old casino into a new base of operations, intending to establish not only casino operations, but chems and alcohol. They assured the Archbishop that it was primarily for sale in Chicago, across the border - but the Archbishop wasn't convinced.

While, of course, the cartel didn't plan on not selling to any Ecclesiastical subjects if they came by, they were, in fact, telling the truth when they said it was primarily for sale across the border. El Moe's elimination and the subsequent takedown of his operation by the Bureau had left a hole in the local chem scene that the Dons were just itching to fill. It would take some time to get the operation up and running, of course, but they figured, with the Bureau sitting on the local crime syndicates, they had plenty of time, and once the heat died down...

While the NCS troops fought hard to expand his territories, its workers (and slaves) worked hard to increase its industrial capabilities: various NCS-controlled scavenger groups were given better equipment and new memebers, to increase the quantity of utilizable scrap that arrived into the NCS foundries, and new ones were being set up.

Just as roads had been built and reapired inside former Tennesse, same would be done in all the newly acquired Confederate territories; to improve the communication speed, and seeing the inefficiency of courier-given dispatchs, radio towers anf facilities would be built across all the NCS lands.
As the Confederate scientists finished designing the very first NCS military vehicle, a simple four-wheeled utility jeep, they were given the task to start the research of an actual armored vehicle.

Kentucky Fried Radroach
Part 4

When the news of the outcome of the Battle of Fort Knox reached President Lee II, his fury was irrepressible: he demanded immediately the heads of the shameful officers that lead to the defeat, and the total destruction of this savages that dared standing in their path. To ensure both his demands to be satisfied, he decided to have the 1st, which was already moving on to reinforce the 4th, to be led by Colonel Terry. The choice appeared unlogical to many, since the Colonel was in command of the Counter-Insurgence Corps, so he was expert in dealing with plotters (real or alleged) inside the NCS, but had little battle experience apart from his previous assignment as a sergeant. But the President knew his ruthlessness was needed to get things done this time.
The Colonel was as well surprised by being chosen, but was more than ready to do his duty. So he joined the advancing 1st Infantry as their leader, along about 100 of his Whiteshirts, as the members of the Corps were called, due to their white uniform, different from the usual grey and CSA-like one.
After crossing the border and entering Kentucky, the troops quickly arrived at the large settlement of Bowling Green, the Pests had already ran away as their usual, and the inhabitants were more than ready to join the NCS to be no longer under the raiders rule. This would have closed the matter, but Colonel Terry had different ideals, which he explained to the soldiers giving a brief speech: "This wasteland savages beleieve that after having helped our enemies for years, we can now forgive them, accept them as our comrades! How can we know that it wasn't their backsatbbing that led to the death of our fellows at Fort Knox, how can we know they are really ready to embrace the NCS ideals?! We need to show all of this wastelanders what happens when they plot against us! Death to the traitors!"
Many of the 1st soldiers were unsure of what to do, the orders have always been to not kill those that didn't fight back, while all the Whiteshirts immediately repeated a the slogan launched by their leader. Some officers even directly questioned the orders of the Colonel, but the President had given him the supreme authority for leading the campaign, so they had no other chance but to comply.
Exactly 1 every 2 inhabitants were executed, and Terry specifically ordered to find the most different ways to do that: some were locked inside the settlement former city hall, which was then set on fire, others thrown into radioaztive waste, some left tied up near the Barren River to be dismemebered by a couple mirelurks that had estabilished there their territory, and so on, all accompanied by the laughter and jokes of the Corps men. The "lucky" remaining inhabitants were enslaved and sent into NCS territories.
Before reaching the 4th Confederate Infnatry, which was in dire need of support, Colonel Terry took some time to give the same tratement to the neighboring settlements of Glasgow and Cave City.

Official Construction Edict by the Presidium of the Secretariat in Regards to the Prefectures of Gravelton and McClellanville

In a new edict issued by the Infrastructural Bureau of the Secretariat of the United Prefectural Directorate on behalf of the Director and enacted by the Presidium, it has ordered that the following Prefectures are to begin immediate construction of medium-class shipyards. These Prefectures were chosen for their geographic positioning and the socioeconomic implications which are sure to arise from the creation of these shipyards. Gravelton, as it is both close to the primary source of coal in the United Prefectural Directorate and the sole refinery capable of producing ethanol and liquified coal, and McClellanville, as it is close to the sole source of coal in the District despite its current underdevelopment and its already developed resource gathering and management system. It is the hope of the Presidium, specifically the Strategic Command and the Infrastructural Bureau, that these will produce immensely valuable and productive warships and resource barges.

Famine Feud
Expansion Post 5 of 5

The last of free Oklahoma had been put in a dire position. It had been surrounded on all sides by Revolutionary Middleland's armed forces. With no trade going in or out and the rather heavy winter- it spelled disaster for the remnants of the Choctaw and Seminole. Food had been scarce already in the post-apocalypse, but this restriction of trade threw them back a mile. Famine struck the remnants with an unforgiving tyranny, and many dropped dead. The survivors lived a bitter life of subsistence farming and material shortage. Lop Bop and Middle's high command wanted to stamp them out before they lost all of the exploitable manpower.

The leaders of Revolutionary Middleland knew that the survivors would be in a weakened state - but since they had been doing the encirclement they didn't expect to just go and march in unopposed. Their battle plan would be drawn up in the Middle bunker, a map overlooking the last patch of independence in the state. The eyes of the red-scarved commissars narrowed at the sight of the enemy's unit composition. Over the past several months, recon efforts have determined the fighting force to be poorly equipped and small- possibly in the realm of five hundred to nine hundred militants. The question then became how many soldiers Revolutionary Middleland had to spare to put down this starving dog of a country.

To deal with this point of contention, 600 soldiers would be diverted from the Nebraskan Front, and 1,000 from the Legion Border. This would constitute an improvised army of one thousand and six hundred of Middle's soldiers. In an unusually new manner of tactics, the army was broken down into eight companies of 200. Like the edges of a spider web, they positioned themselves around chokepoints on the border. In one mighty sweeping motion, the dried fields were burrowed into by the companies, venturing through dead rural regions. The population hotspot would be around the Lake Eufaula.

There would be no need for heavy artillery this time around. The small towns around the lake would be sacked- one by one. The southernmost choke point would be located at McAlester. The defenders would be scattered by Middle's cavalry, bayonets clinking and clashing until the town was cleared from malnutrition smitten residents. From the north, Checotaw would be encircled and snuffed out by sheer brutality. The divisions would link up and constitute regiments of 800, tasked with following the shoreline north and south. Coast town by coast town would collapse, fleeing residents being dragged down by gators in the banks of the lake. The forces of Middle would march straight into Longtown, and coerced a surrender from the residents.

A few blueprints were recovered. A small factory in a half-damaged state was recovered. Middle would gain 1,011 people.

Leaps And Bounds

Production Post 1

The pipe guns were getting to be a nuisance to Revolutionary Middleland's progress as an army. To better increase the quality of gear, orders directly from Middle- the organization- were given to shift this past few months' resources into pure weapons production. The quality of an army would inevitably make the difference in the long run. It would be an investment that would pay for itself in the harsh and cold currency of dead enemies. The technical middlemen in the factories would raise no contest with these demands, as Middle would offer incentives to high-performing sectors. Raw production would be the objective.

In a hallmark achievement, red flags were waved in revolutionary celebration. 100 steel assets would be made to produce 24500 m16 rifles, finally making the pipe guns obsolete. The pipe guns would be moved to a reserve status just in case soldier deferment became a problem again. For the first time in history, Middle's industrial capacity would be used up (for 1.5 RL days to correctly use 100 steel) in order to achieve this feat.

Middle's production had broken a lot of turning points- the production of military grade weapons, the methane-propane conversion, the first planes in the sky, and the first vehicle on the ground- but to have each factory in Revolutionary Middleland activated in a task was a damningly ominous warning that the Middle War Machine had been born- and the rest of the plains were in its sights.

Then perhaps we can come to some sort of agreement, you helping us in keeping those Confederate fellows away from us and we, in turn, do something for you." Jeremiah proposed, having the Directorate as an ally would definitely be better than facing those Confederates on their own.

The Constellation Society of Retralik

Rio Balsas
As previously stated, the Rio Balsas, or Balsas River, is the main waterway artery direct to the heart of Mexico. Both the state and the city lie on, or close to, and whoever can control it has a very good chance at snatching the capital.

Loyalist forces have been hammering at the MRA Constellation Armies for some time now, with their cannons and machine gun fire, trench warfare in between two cities. Both sides would amass a raiding party, sneak through no man’s land under fire, then hop into the enemy earthworks and flush them out one by one. A slow and arduous task, hundreds have been lost in attacks that barely moved the line. It is hoped that the Coastal Armies will strike them from the behind, relieving the pressure and crushing the enemy underneath two sides.

Loyalists have not been foolish however. They know the importance of the Balsas. Rumors said the top commander of the river Army was assassinated by his superiors for having failed to defend Lázaro Cárdenas. Now his second in command is the head. Even with internal instability, the sentries along the waters mostly operate off the grid and on their own judgement. They are well positioned and armed.

Dark falls. An eerie silence. Only the slashing sounds of moving water. The men on the raft huddle together in the tiny space. They are completely unprotected, and are betting that the dark will let them pass through the Loyalist sentry. Despite this, they are not fools, with weapons hot just in case.
Suddenly, they are illuminated by a massive searchlight. A stream of automatic fire zips through, shattering the silent grace. One man is grazed across the knees and rendered combat ineffective. Two others stand up and start firing. The others move to counterweight them on the flimsy raft. The one behind them also starts lobbing lead at the encampment. Suppressive fire forces the machine gunner to duck down, but he manages another burst, this time correctly aimed, and annihilated the leading craft.

The second-to-head loads a tracer round clip and fires into the sky, indicating that they are to hit ground and march from this point on. With the choke point broken, the army was quickly able to overrun the sentry. Reminiscent of the “Pin strategy” first implemented back in the Durango highlands, these outposts are proving a pain to remove, one by one. Lacking heavy weapons, the only way to dislodge them is via treacherous frontal assault. Platoons rushed forward under fire, hoping that a few of them would get in. Some voices say “just starve them”, but keeping troops to effectively surround the perimeter would cut into numbers for the final attack, which High Command cannot allow.

Thus, men of the MRA constantly butt heads with these hardened pins every step of the way along the Balsas, arguably having an even rougher time than their inland counterparts bogged down by trench warfare.

The ranch was finished, and not a moment too soon, for almost as soon as they had finished hanging the barn doors, a wild, wintry blizzard swept in from the northwest and pummeled Branch county. The barn had to be shoveled out from the snow, an effort that took almost a week of round-the-clock work. Thankfully, none of the horses seemed worse for the wear, though they were a bit antsy from having been trapped inside for so long.

Here in the winter, as before, the Amish proved to be very helpful, providing wool from the flocks of sheep they also tended alongside the brahmin and horses. The demand for wool put the focus back on their sheep, and the Amish realized they had yet to build any lambing jugs for the next season. So, despite the wintry cold, they began gathering the materials to build some inside the barns they had already put up last season. They enlisted the help of their neighbors, many of whom were interested in taking up the sheep-herding business (as sheep were a lower-maintenance animal to raise than even the wasteland-suited brahmin).

In the former city of Elizabethtown, the 1st Infantry met the majority of what remained of the 4th and the Montgomery Auxiliaries: they had entrenched themselves in the ruins, clearly terrified of being counter-attacked by the Pests after their defeat at Fort Knox. The soldiers appeared tired and with their morale under the shoes, if the Colonel didn't act in some way, they would be far from an effective fighting force.
His first action was to arrest every high-ranking officer, as the President asked, and send them back to be judged for their incompetence by an "objective" military tribunal. Then he explained how the cause of their loss was the treacherous actions of the locals, but that at the same time whoever had any problem with fighting against the savages again could follow their officiers in the court-martial.
Soon all the troopers were once again marching towards Fort Knox, trying to eliminate the Pests resistance for the second time. At around 1500 yards from the enemy defences, the Colonel asked the column to stop and prepare for battle, despite none of the soldiers guns could fire to the raiders, actually many could barely see them. An officer got near Colonel Terry trying to understand what he was planning: "Sir, we can't shoot them down from here! We have to get closer!".
The Colonel smirked: "Oh yes, I heard of how it went the last time! When you need to eliminate an animal you can't just walk in his lair! You make him come out in the open and then you take it down!"
"It's true, but how? How can we bait them to come out?"
"Bait? I dind't talk about baiting! We'll make them come out in the only way this savages understand: with brutal violence!"
Before the officer could respond, Terry made a signal with his hand, and his Whiteshirts appeared: they were carrying the mortars that had just been produced, which the Colonel had managed to commandeer for the campaign.
While the soldiers were setting up their positions, the Colonel turned again towards the officer: "We'll give this savages a little taste of our explosive ordinance, let's see how they like it!"
The mortars opened fire and after a few seconds where all the troops followed their trajectory in the sky, they met the ground where the Pests were entrenched: various explosions ravaged their makeshift defenses, and some raiders (more propably their pieces) were seen flying. The NCS soldiers cheered and rejoiced, the Colonel smirked again, and soon new shots were fired.
After two minutes, the raiders retreated back, probably in the hope of avoiding being bombed, but they couldn't really get out of range, especially because all the Confederate needed was to advance to maintain the distance.
At the end, after having endured for almost an hour, the Pests retreated entirely from the fort, leaving it in the NCS hands: the Colonel had defeated them without suffering a single casualty, a great victory, but his desire of managing to get them out in the field didn't come true.
After Fort Knox was taken, the NCS soldiers advanced and entered Louisville without meeting any resistance, as the Pests were probably still trying to come up with a viable way to respond to the Confederate new weapons.

Fort Knox vaste military data would be carefully recovered, it could prove useful to make even better weapons.

The Kingdom of Lengo

Dean Kaibab awoke with a heavy headache, one he had not felt since his days in the Legion. He was lying in bed in what appeared to be a old shack held together well since 2077. He realized it was daylight as he saw the sharp rays of light peaking through the gaps in the bordered up windows. An elderly man was sat to the side of him, assembling a rifle with a level of precision that Dean had not seen in anyone other then a Veteran Legionnaire or an NCR Ranger. The Man, recognising that Dean had awoken, put the assembled rifle as side and tended to his patient.

Man: Hey, you're finally awake. I was beginning to wonder whether I should start digging a hole out back or not.

Dean: Where... where am I? What happened?

Dean focused his eyes on the man alone now, he could see blue jumpsuit hidden under armor and ammo bags. Ever pocket on this man's jacket was filled with something useful. Food, water, bullets, holotapes...

Man: It seems like wandering through the mountains of northern California with little supplies left finally came to bite you. I found you lying between the rocks, barely alive. I would have thought you Followers would be smarter then that, considering that's basically what you're known for being: Smart.

Dean: How do you kno-

Man: I recognize the lab coat. I appreciate the effort your people have made in having you wearing one of the older lab coats but I am partially insulted by the implication that I don't know what you guys look like nowadays. I d get around more often then you might believe, not as much I did 30 years ago but still enough to recognise the changing world around me.

Dean was hardly listening, his head was killing him. The Man must have recognized this as Dean found a bottle of water being offered to him. It was purified, obviously bought from the nearest town.

Dean: Who are you?

Man: First of all, who are you? What do the Followers want with me?

Dean sighed, this was just delaying precious time. If he missed anything from the Legion, it was how much faster these operation thended to be due the more... direct approach.

Dean: No, not you! I'm looking for the Chosen One.

Man: Ha! I thought you were!

Dean: You know him?

Chosen One: Well of course I know him. He's me.

Dean: YOUR the Chosen One?

Chosen One: Well don't sound too surprised. I happen to think I've aged beautifully. Ha ha.

Dean: It's not that, I was just under the impression that you were a woman.

Chosen One: Oh... well, my legacy really has been neglected...

Dean: Your what?

Chosen One: My legacy! My god, why do you think the Followers sent you after me? I don't think their operations include the harassment of old folk so why did they send you?

Dean couldn't help getting defensive, he had travelled miles to find one man, for reasons he didn't at all understand, only to have intelligence insulted. He sat up in the bed, intending to get out.

Dean: I was told to find the Chosen One. I assume that is you, don't know why you've been chosen or even what for. Ok?!

The Chosen One looked quite insulted by this, and took to the offensive.

Chosen One: Listen kid, I'm not a chosen one, I'm THE Chosen One. Not to sell a brahmin as a plasma rifle but I happen to be a bit of a big deal. So much so, for the last 15 years the NCR government have believed my popularity is so much of a threat I've been discreetly written out of NCR history, which would explain your ignorance I suppose!!

Dean: I only don't know who you are because.. I'm not an NCR citizen, in fact, till recently I was quite the opposite!

The Chosen One calmed down, processing the words he'd just heard. Dean gulped, this was a mistake. He told the apparent 'Hero of the NCR' that he was till recently the very thing the NCR hated the most. If the government had been treating him so poorly becuase of his past, he dreaded to think what the Chosen One would do.

Chosen One: Well, I see. In that case, I'm sorry. I'm sure you've had enough of being alienated for ignorance you can't help.

Dean was confused. The Chosen One had completely changed his tone. Not even Thomas changed this quickly after an argument. The Chosen One a right now reminded him of the very vague memory of his tribe's elder. Dean couldn't remember much. He was a very young boy when the Elder was killed by the Legion but he remembered the feeling around the Elder, the warmth, the wisdom, such understanding....

Dean: But why? I was the enemy... I helped to try destroy this country you've served! I killed so man-

The Chosen One: Kid, I've travelled New California for over 40 years. I've met many men and women who concluded their actions were wrong and made the effort to change themselves. That takes a strong will and if the Followers trust you, then you've proven to have that will. You've reclaimed your destiny, the tribe that you belonged to, although taken away, lives on in you. I know something of that feeling.

Dean: What do you mean?

The Chosen One, smiled warmly.

"Well kid, let's just say I know how it feels to have your tribe robbed from you by madmen..."

Jeremiah took a moment to answer the question, making a mental note to inform Harrison of the Directorates' campaign into Virginia, even if they said it was temporary, "Super Mutants? Yes I know of them, mostly from stories however-" Jeremiah answered, resting a hand on his chin in thought, "There is one mutant, Stonewall his name is, that was recently given the position of Councilman as well as the President's personal Bodyguard. From what I was told Stonewall assisted General Shepherd's men in the invasion of Norfolk, and the General convinced Harrison to give the mutant the position, Shepherd is a man that likes to pay his debts as soon as possible after all."
