Inwitt wrote:With the fighters approaching and the message received from the unknown fleet, Sven was sure to do one thing. He ordered that the signal was now sent on a tight beam immediately a beam that could not be jammed due to it being on a military frequency simply unknown. He started to then order all ships to fire at will and as their flack fire opened up destroying the fighters coming in large numbers. The ships started to move in a manner that would give them a defensive edge. Torpedoes were fired from the Inwitt ships and nuclear-tipped missiles were fired as well heading straight towards those unknown ships.

Sven looked at the data coming in and then got the confirmation that the message was sent and then he ordered for all remaining defensive systems to be taken over and aimed at the ships. He looked at the message that the unknown foe had sent and then grinned he would make sure he would die with honor if it came to it but he was not planning to die.

"Frack yourself you little fracking pieces of crap"

was all he sends back as the fight began. A bloody fight a fight that was chaotic and odd

I stood and watched the readout and could see that the first wave of fighters had been destroyed and the hostile ships were forming up a defensive line. There point defences were formidable but already as the second fighter wave was sent in the Raiders were already beginning to adapt and more fighters were beginning to get throw. The ship rocked as it was hit by a torpedo. Readouts showed minimal damage and nothing that would effect the ships combat effectiveness. "All Basestars to open fire." I said. with that our turrents and torpedo tubes all opened fire. Watching it reminded me of the one occasion i observed a Parakkan watching the monitor of a celebration event that took place on Aren, thinking on it I remembered they were called fireworks and the exchange of fire from our ships and there was like a massive firework show.

I looked down on the display and noticed that a transmission had been sent successfully from the Inwitt ships. Though i wasnt concerned we had been fortunate to have lasted this long without them sending a message to their nearest station. I then received there message and wondered, if they were trying to insult me or not?

Sven watched as the ships had begun to open fire and seemingly a second wave was coming towards them. He turned around and looked at his comms officer who nodded, the signal was through and thus he knew that it was only a matter of at worst a week at best hours before reinforcements would come. He looked outside again, the camera screen showing a 3D view of the surrounding area, as no transparent steel was present as the bridge was not exposed as the designers were not idiots. The defensive systems began dealing with the incoming torpedoes and the second wave fighters but the sheer amount of stuff coming at them mean that their shields were starting to take hits. He knew that if they stayed they would be death something he was not looking forward to and would not give these creatures the pleasure off.

All ships micro jumps we are going to draw this out”

He looked at his weapons officer and grinned,

Give them a present and jump away

The weapons officer nodded and Sven looked at the positions of the other ships which jumped away, a micro-jump was a simple tactic they used to jump to the edge of the system and from there they would use their ships their speed to their advantage. Now all the fire was drawn upon this ship but all of this was taking place within a few seconds. The automated system released a simple giant nuclear warhead (tsar bomba size) then the ship jumped away, waiting for it to go off ripping apart the incoming enemy as Sven his ship came out of hyperspace at the edge of the system and then started to move around the outer planets as quickly as possible hiding in the asteroid belt using its magnetic field to dim its sensors. It now was a waiting game and from now on would be a hit and run war until reinforcements came, while keeping them in place.

I watched the ships jump to Hyperspace, i doubted it was far, the Matrix had computed that the Inwitt wouldn't simply cut and run. I ordered the fleet to resume its attack on the planet and upon looking at the scans i could see the resource fleet had already left the planetary system. Our mission was simple to draw the Inwitt forces to this system, devastate this system and then leave with minimal losses as possible. It was then that i noticed the bomb left by the Inwitt just as it went off.

The bomb destroyed the fighters close to it and seriously damaged the second wave fighters. As for the Basestars, my been closest but still some distance took the brunt of the blast. Sensors showed that a number of systems had been damaged, with nearly a 3rd of our armament where no longer functional until repairs had taken place, meanwhile there were high amounts of radiation being reported throw-out the ship, which in itself wasn't harmful to us but we had to ensure that vital systems where shielded against it.

As such i ordered with withdrawal of ground forces and ordered full ship to surface bombardment, with most of the planetary anti ship guns no longer functional it would enable us to launch a quick and swift attack on the planet. Though i doubted that unless we concentrated fire on the cities shielding we would penetrate it to destroy the cities. Though the attack on the less defended settlements and on the surface as well would render the planet less hospitable for habitation.

I also assigned the withdrawal of our forces to take place in 5 hours and all ships were to remain vigilant for those Inwitt vessels that had jumped away. I estimated that our ship would be ready for Hyperspace within 10 hours and as such tasked a two Basestars to stay with us until we could jump. For the glory of the Cylon Empire.

Kronos system
3 hours after engagment near Kronos

Helvegarius Androlaris looked through the holo screens at what was the warp, the strange alternate dimension that they used to traverse the void. He stood there his hands behind his back, proudly in his white golden armor marking him as a Rear Admiral. Helvegarius Androlaris was a Taung that had seen much, he was old yet still stood at a height of 260 cm he was tall always had been, he had fought in the swarm wars and it seemed to him at least that they were soon to enter conflict with what might be a Swarm successor. His golden eyes turned towards a holographic display, it showed the current status of the 7th Frontier group and its 6 heavy cruisers, 2 dreadnoughts,7 Battle-Cruisers, 2 carriers, 23 Frigates. He stood to abord the EEFS Coraxius a Dreadnought and a powerful one and he had ordered the entire group to be ready to engage the enemy the moment they dropped out of the warp. They had been closer than central command through and had made full speed towards Kronos the goal of securing the system and eradicating the possible Swarm infestation.

It was within 10 minutes of him getting the sign that all the ships were ready for battle after all the fighters were ready to launch, drop ships ready to deploy, drop pods ready to drop, frigates ready to spread out, and the carriers and their groups ready to deploy their fighters and onboard corvettes. That the 7th frontier group exited the warm and at that moment the scans tapped into the data network and gathered immediately all the data that all Inwitt assets had gathered upon the enemy. They had dropped near the planet of Kronos yet on the other side of the planet than the strange invaders. This was done with a simple intention and as planned two wolfpacks, 4 frigates reached began to move away from the fleet and enter into the warp for a small micro-jump to start attacking the ships in the outer systems. While the carriers remained behind with their escorts and had deployed their onboard frigates. Thus the forces that remained were the Cruisers, Dreadnoughts, and Battle-Cruisers that now would begin approaching the unknown forces on the other side of the planet. Thus while those forces numbering in total some 15 heavily armed warships supported by 8 frigates and heavy bomber escorts, these ships all designed after the swarm wars were heavily shielded had extensive and advanced point defense system consisting of electrochemically fired heavy repeater bolter point defense systems a grid of missile defense systems amongst others. While in total the force that was now approaching the unknown Xenos threat in typical Inwitt fashion carried enough firepower to flatten entire continents in mere minutes.

While the smaller group of 23 warships began to move towards the unknown threat from the Bastion class battle carrier dozens of dropships began to be deployed towards Kronos itself. These dropships were medium-sized and in total carried 3400 crusader marines heavily armed and supported by their heavy wear suits and combat walkers and tanks this force was not meant to recapture the planet but rather to conduct a pointed assault towards the largest force of enemies detected.

Whatever the result was of what was to come one thing remained very clear that the Enclaves would not let Xenos roam free inside their borders or book any threat from them. Whoever had attacked was about to face the wrath of a battle group, a formation that had been responsible for the extermination of entire systems during the swarm wars.

Most of the Cylon forces had withdrawn to safe zone Z-23 waiting for the withdraw signal or the main arrival of Inwitt forces. My ship and two other Basestars continued to rain down weapons fire and nuclear warheads on the planet. All in all the attack was going well though the small force that we had fought a few hours ago hadnt returned and had remained on the outer edge of the system. No doubt waiting for reinforcements to arrive.

I decided that it time to signal the main fleet withdrawal "To all vessels baring Basestar 24 and 14 are to leave the system." the coms board lit up with the acknowledgement signal and then they began to leave the system. it was then that the Raiders on the other side of the planet reported that a large force had entered the system.

"All ships begin to move the edge of the system and prepare to make the jump to hyperspace once we are able. Assume defensive pattern Alpha 2, all Fighters to provide additional defence support to the Basestars. Cylon ground forces are to engage, Jungle protocol 23 until further notice." Again the coms board lit up with the acknowledgement of the orders. I knew the next hour would be quite telling, if we could hold out that long we could leave the system. If not then at least we had done our duty for the Cylon Empire.

Yeah. I'm not really a NationStates person these days. There's too much going on in real life for me. I miss it though.
